  1. My recently aquired ls400 on a 96 seems to have its cruise control limited to 70mph, anything over that and it wont set, anyone know how to overide this so called safety feature? Thanks Andy M
  2. Thanks Pete, I will look in the yellow pages for a reasonable local garage to check out the suspension, I will take your advice on the alarm. me and wiring never see eye to eye at the best of times Thanks again Pete Andy M
  3. Hi , You are not alone, I have just picked up what must be an embassy model, rear massage seats, audio and air con controls etc, uk speedo but the odometer is in KM, having trouble with my air suspension, see if I can get some help from the forum. Wheres the built in walkman? Thanks Andy M
  4. I recently bought a 96 ls400 which is imported, it has air suspension which can adjust the ride height at the touch of a button. sound cool, but it is having problems. The front ns shock goes soft from time to time, this results in an alarming dip to the right under braking at motorway speeds, it seems to wallow. I figure that the shock has seen better days, but before spending a shedload of money is there anything else I can check, and is there someone out there who can repair or replace the shock. Thanks Andy M
  5. Thanks for the quick reply - will certainly check them - very grateful. :D The suspension has never worked since I got it. The green normal light on the dash flashes. The air suspension leaks and lets itself down after a few days. I had a switch fitted under the bonnett to pump them up when they go flat so the compressor seems to work. However, even when pumped up it bounces everywhere. There is a switch in the boot within the tool encave on the side, this was switched to off when I got it - I understand this switch is related to the suspension and used when the car is jacked off the floor. Have never been able to find out what the flashing light is about. Its a real shame as the engine is awesome. Am a bit stuck as it difficult to sell on/trade for a newer one as it has this awful suspension problem. I dont seem to be able to convince a Lexus dealer to look at it as its an import. Even with this problem, I still want another - a great car and it amazes me how the temp gauge always stays in the same place no matter how long I sit in hot traffic - maybe it doesnt work :P Hi buddy, let me know if you found a solution, I just bought a 96 with air suspension, the nearside shock seems weaker than the rest and tends to dip to the right on braking at motorway speeds, Lexus are not interested because mine is an import too, I may follow your route or find a good used unit for the front. I have no green light on my dash but I can adjust the height with a button by the centre consol, lifts the car by about three inches, I will look in the boot for the switch you mentioned. Cheers, Andy M
  6. Thanks spoony, I need to find the damn unit first, The car is an import and a brief look hasnt found the unit, im not even sure if you can dial them down
  7. Hi all Just bought a 96 ls400 with a clifford alarm, seems to have been fitted from new. my problem is it goes off whenever it feels like it, windy, not windy, raining, not raining. If I dont set it with the fob then it seems to arm itself and start wailing again after 10 or 20 minutes. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks Andy M
  8. Hi to all. I am hoping that someone can help with a couple of questions. I have just purchased my 3rd lexus and this one is an import I believe. its a 1996 with air suspension, the front shock seems to be low and softer than the others. are the units individually charged or do they share an air source? If its shared then I am facing either relacing or rebuilding the shock unit, any contacts for this job would be great. The second question relates to a really sensitive clifford alarm system, seems to go of for no reason, are these sensitive adjustable? Any help would be greatly appreciated Andy m
