  1. is my car which was delivered in november07 likely to require any modified parts do you think?
  2. Can anybody explain what the 5th injector is. All engines I have seen have only 1 injector per cylinder. Is this refering to petrol and diesel engines?? some carification would be useful if anybody can throw some light on the subject Cheers.
  3. 6th gear is an overdrive gear and will not pull whatsoever, above 80 ish an its alrite, have you had the modified fifth injector fitted? also have themcheck the egr valve for clogging up, i personally have had over fifty mpg out of the diesel, and i know of 1 tech getting 61 Any idea what the 5th injector refers too? As far as I have seen, a cylinder head has only one injector per pot. Is this refering to the main diesel rail? If anybody can explain, would be grateful.
  4. I came from an Audi A4 1.9TDI Avant, thought i'd go with a Lxus for the change, I love the car but am not seeing anywhere near the same levels of fuel economy as the A4 which returned an average of around 45-50mpg consistently. If I drive like an old lady (no offence dears!) Ican squeeze 40-41mpg from my IS220d with a combo of driving round town and on motorway/dual carrigeways. A bit dissapointed to say the least. I am also amazed that with much more power and torque, the Lexus feels more sluggish than the Audi did, espescially at lower rev ranges. Having said that, I much prefer driving the Lexus and am on my way to becoming a true Lexus convert.
  5. looks very nice in this color, great choice, you must be chuffed!
  6. Hi All, 57 Plate IS220d SE –Multimedia (3000miles done) Only 30-40 mpg (40 if I drive like a typical Sunday driver!) Rough on start-up (sounds like a concrete mixer) and has been known to take 10 seconds to fire up 6th gear unusable under 75mph Does anybody relate to the above issues? My dealer (Cheltenham) has had the car twice now, the first time the ECU was remapped and the second time they had it for the day to inspect the fuel pump. Apparently Lexus are still fitting a rogue fuel pump which can cause over-fuelling. The only way to tell is if the dealer takes the fuel pump off and inspects the specification number of the pump. Mine was the non rogue pump and so the dealer rinsed it through and re-fitted it but the issues described above still persist. Any ideas??? Still love my Lexus though!! :)
