sorry mate i didn't explain very well. if i sat and reved the car to 5000rpm you would hear the engine, but the engine isn't actually reving at 5000 the needle is just stuck there when the car is cold then when the car warms up the revs drop to normal hope this makes sense. cheers

hi when i start my car on a cold morning the revs shoot straight up too 5000 and wont move( the car isnt is still quite so its not actualy revving at 5000 its just stuck there) then when the car warms up they drop back down to normal. any ideas what it might be anyone? p.s this is my first post, pictures too come very soon cheers

alright mate dont know if this will help you when my central locking wouldn't work it was the central locking ecu which is situated under the drivers seat. it ended up about £500 to get it sorted. but it wouldn't work at all not just when it was cold.

mine had the same problem mate it was the air conditioning pump. a new 1 from lexus was £300. hope this helps.
