  2. How long before i am an official Gold member?..have paid..but heard nothing and not able to enter Gold member site?
  3. On reading my last post ref key to car you will know the history (flat batt ect),and now have a prob with the satt nav system. All seems to work well with the screen ect but displayed is 'check cd rom'. After removing cd in reader (Lexus cd,ver.3.1 release '99-5) it then displays 'check original cd rom'!? Is ther a 'set up wizard cd' to programe the unit,or,do i need an up-to-date disc,or,..well..any advice?
  4. Thans for advice Gord, but no luck-or maybe i didnt explain properly..i picked up this IS200 approx a week ago,43000 on the clock but batt totally dead. Its a minter (t-plate '99). I put a new batt in but have come across two probs,(one a sat nav prob-but thats a new topic)..the key would only just open doors but only when held agaist the receiving sensor so thougt i would replace batt in master key(only key i have) but, being a Lexus virgin didnt realise(till told by man in shop) that there may be a time period/limit between swoppng batts that may affect it. On trying new batt in key it would open only drivers door, start engine but nothing more! The next day it opened all doors, and locked, and at distance via key especally after starting car,but now wont. No cenral lockng with key in door either but still starts! Have i left it too long between batt changes? If so what can/should i do to reassociate the key with car?
  5. You the man Gord!! Thanks buddy-will try and let u know how i get on..arnt Lexus owners lovely people..if only every one could be the same!!
  6. Here it is...... Basically, every lexus key has two functions: start the engine(immobilizer) and remote control (lock unlock doors, activate/deactivate alarm) to program the immobilizer bit of your new key: first, have your new key cut. Then: For 1998+ Toyota, Lexus Add Duplicate Key 1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time. 2. Insert existing master key into ignition. 3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times. 4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key. 5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition. 6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time. 7. After 80 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off. 8. Remove new key and depress and release brake pedal 1 time. For 2002+ Toyota, Lexus Add Duplicate Key Requires one working Toyota/Lexus Master Key. 1. Make sure all doors and windows are closed. 2. Insert Master key into the ignition cylinder. 3. Cycle the ignition cylinder from On to OFF five times. 4. Open and close the “driver side” door 6 times. 5. Remove the Master Key and insert the new duplicates key. 6. TURN THE IGNITION CYLINDER ON. 7. The new key will be registered after 60 seconds. The THEFT light on the dashboard will go out, indicating that programming has been completed. to make your lexus remember your key's wireless signal: For the remote part. in drivers seat WITH DOOR OPEN. start with door unlocked. first put master key in ignition, turn to on, then back off and remove. using the lock/unlock button on drivers door. press lock.. then unlock 5 times.(lock, unlock, lock, unlock, lock, unlock, lock,un lock, lock, unlock) Close drivers door, open drivers door. Performe lock/unlock procedure again. DO NOT close and open drivers door. Just the lock/unlock procedure again. insert NEW key in to ignition and turn to on, then back off and remove.(at this point the doors should lock and unlock by themselves ONCE) Now press both lock and unlock buttons on REMOTE. release after about 1.5seconds. now press just the lock button on remote. once you press the lock button, the car should lock and unlock ONCE, if it lock unlocked TWICE you messed up somewhere. now open and close the drivers door a couple times to close programming. if you did it right, remote will now work. thats it..not to hard once youve done it a few times I tried this for about 40 minutes and finally my is200 remembers all my keys now.
  7. Where oh where did i see the very handy topic on reprogramming the master key to car? I remember ther were 9 steps, you had to manual click central locking 3 times ect ect..many thanks!
  8. hi newbie, what cd have you as if not wanted might buy from you?
  9. Anybody got a few spare parts kicking around, particulary a f/n/s/ no 2 suspension arm from lower arm to body-has a bush rubber one end and a no1 arm-connects hub to body below stabilising arm? Wheel has impacted kerb and damaged these two...

  11. I recently took purchase of a mint 1999 {t-plate} IS 200 with only 43000 miles on the clock, the batt was disconected and on reconnection the voice activated sat nav system displayed 'set cd rom'. I removed the cd rom and retried it with the message 'check original cd rom'? Have enquired Lexus tech support who didnt seem to know much about it but suggested removing all plugs at unit {in boot r/h side}, wait 1/2 hr and try again-to no benifitl Any ideas..and any one who would let me look at sat nav manual? many thanks fellow Lexus Lovers
