I had an almost similar problem - rather than jammed shut totally, mine became difficult to open (it would take 5 or 6 attempts or even more sometimes). I resolved the issue with a spray of WD40 on the hinge points - i used the little plastic tube that comes with the spray can. I am not sure if this will work for you, but it is worth a try.

I have an RX300 mkII (1955) which I bought 9 months ago. the light level at which the sat-nav screen drops into night-time mode is very bright. It even operates under trees in the summer if a little overcast. The headlights come on as well, of course, but I don't mind that. Is there any way I can adjust the light level at which this happens? (The windscreen and sensor are clean)

I got mine from Lexus Belfast while on hols (they had them in stock - but not cheap - around £100!) Very easy to fit - I fitted mine on the caravan site where we were staying - just a drill and a cros-head screwdriver required.
