  1. I saw the latest Glasses guide valuation for mine... dropped £700 from last month!!! :tsktsk:
  2. Apart from an answer of not alot, I'm horrified what I've just been offered to trade in my '08 plate IS250 SE Auto... anyone had similar experiences?
  3. I test drove an F-Sport on 18" wheels and thought it was great... so much sharper than my IS250SE. Would look to upgrade if the dealer was prepared to do a better deal which, sadly, they weren't :(
  4. MPG on a 250 Auto - I've done 23k miles over 2.5 yrs of all types of driving and the trip now says nearly 33mpg. On a good steady motorway run at 70mph, I can achieve up to 45mpg.
  5. I drove a '59 plate 250 Auto F-sport the other day and that definitely had flappy paddles and they shift up and down without needing to go into Sport mode as required on my 2008 250 SE Auto.
  6. From my understanding, most PCPs end with three options - (1) you buy the car for the GMFV, (2) you hand the car back and (3) you use the car in a part exchange for another one and any equity in the deal is all good for you. The mileage (and condition) becomes an issue if you try option (2) - anything over what you agreed and anything more that "reasonable" wear and tear (my words) can incur cost as part of the hand back. I believe most PCPs are now regulated under the consumer credit agreement which means they also have a hand back clause when 50% of the outstanding finance has been paid - worth checking out to make sure you fully understand what you're getting yourself into!
  7. and what sort of rate is low rate for PCP - I'd say anything sub 8% APR is not bad.
  8. So what is the Platinum pack and when does the financial year end for Lexus :)
  9. I understand there are a few IS incentives on at the moment - some on the cars, some on the finance. Can anyone share recent experiences of what they've achieved?
  10. I understand now that the paddle shifts on newer models will operate even if you don't explicitly set the car into Sport mode on the gearstick. Are there any other changes - for example, does it operated in true manual mode where it will really select the gear you want rather than setting the highest gear you want? Thanks.
  11. What are people being quoted for second services (20k) - does £340 sound reasonable?
  12. Exiled, I tried the instructions but it doesn't seem to work... did you do it yourself following those instructions?
  13. According to the manual, you can get the car to unlock when you select park - has anyone got this to work?
  14. £32k must have been list, right? I payed way of list for mine so at least that's one consolation!
  15. I can understand where GaryC is coming from. I think I got my 250 SE MM about the same time and it's been back a couple of times for rattles (one of which is still there a bit) and had the autochanger part of the MM replaced when that failed. The quality is not as good as the BMW I had before and that's disappointing. I think what frustrates me even more is the lack of appetite for Lexus dealers to keep you in the brand - I looked at a nearly new RX400h recently and they're back to the trade price for your part ex and full retail on the other car and to me, that isn't cricket... I suspect it's highly unlikely I'll keep if for the duration of its PCP :(
  16. Yes, I could sell it but it's the fact that they want to take the best part of £1000 as an early termination penalty which, I think, is a rip. It seriously affects my opinion of Lexus and I think, on this alone, I wouldn't buy another car from them.
  17. i returned mine on a pcp about 5 months ago, i was at the point that i had paid half of the value so i could return it without having to pay anymore. have you checked how much you would need to pay to be able to return it? also you have the option of selling the car and paying back the total finance ammount, which as in my case the car was worth alot less than 50% of its purchase price when at 28 months old. they took the car back and sent it to auction the last i heard it was up for sale at lexus newcastle So that's one of the main issues of the (old - they can't do them any more) unregulated agreements - there is no voluntary termination clause. When I took out the PCP, anything over £25k of finance could be sold unregulated. A lesson learned in double checking the agreement before you sign it. :tsktsk:
  18. A few months on from purchasing my Lexus, I realised the implications of the fact that it was on PCP that is not regulated by the Consumer Credit Act. The car is now coming up to 2 years old and, for a number of reasons, I'm thinking of changing it. I was alarmed at Lexus Financial Services attitude that: 1. As it's unregulated they ask for 5 month interest as a penalty (regulated PCP is only 1 month) and 2. They won't budge even if you're looking at another Lexus and refinancing. I think it's pretty poor and sums up my opinion of Lexus and their dealers at the moment that they don't car about customer loyalty. Anybody been more successful in getting a better settlement from LFS?
  19. I continue to think Lexus are losing the plot when it comes to doing a deal... thought about changing my IS250 for something newer and then came up with a deal which is trade price for mine, retail for the car I want... cake and eat it???
  20. No similar problem (or indeed any problem) with mine. Is it always the same CD? If so it could be a faulty disc. If not, then more likely a system fault and a reason to go back to the supplier. Nope, all different CDs/DVDs. Tonight none of the dash buttons work. :( Update... car needs a new multimedia unit - over £2k :o Just as well it's under warranty!!!
  21. What sort of finance rates (APR) are Lexus offering at the moment for new and approved used?
  22. Looking at up to 1 year old car - how much would you pay for and SE/SE-L 400h?
  23. No similar problem (or indeed any problem) with mine. Is it always the same CD? If so it could be a faulty disc. If not, then more likely a system fault and a reason to go back to the supplier. Nope, all different CDs/DVDs. Tonight none of the dash buttons work. :(
  24. I'm having a few problems with the MM unit in my IS250 SE Auto MM - almost daily as I'm driving, audio goes to off, CD is spat out and then for a while afterwards none of the dashboard source buttons (FM, AM, Disc etc) or the seek buttons work. Only the steering wheel up/down track works. Anyone seen anything similar???
