  1. Sven Check out these links for some help: Lexus Stereo repair LS400 Radio Removal Lexus Radio Removal Your LS400 is not covered directly, but you may get some hints. Tom
  2. Adeyb - I can't find that post. Can you put in the url here? Thanks Tom
  3. All right, now CLASS!! Back on topic, please. With the Fujiten comment by fluff, I'm starting to think that the Lexus factory installs what ever it has on hand that day - all knock-offs of the Nakamichi. Anyone else have a Nakamichi faceplate (4 buttons on the right side AM/FM/TAPE/CD) but another vendor underneath? Tom
  4. Do I really have a Pioneer Radio?? As you may know, I'm in the middle of researching a radio swap in my 2000 ES300. I've posted my OEM radio removal guide in the workshop. Click here to download the document. In one of the last photos, you can see the sticker on the back of the radio - it says Pioneer. In looking at dash kits for a double DIN replacement, I keep coming across this type of diagram It clearly shows that the radio I have (AM/FM/TAPE/CD buttons arrayed on the right side) is a Nakamichi!!! Any guesses as to what I really have? A Pioneer knock-off of a Nakamichi? Tom
  5. If you're feeling brave, check my workshop paper http://www.teamlexus.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=2477 You seem to have a 3-slot DIN rack like my 2000 ES300. The Pioneer radio head unit simply occupies the top 2 slots. I think we can put in any 1 or 2 DIN head unit. I am going to buy the Kenwood DPX-MP4030 http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-FUHjp...fo&i=113DPX4030. I'm trying to check to see if the 2 connectors on my OEM Pioneer are standard connectors. Tom
  6. I've put together a workshop paper on removing the OEM radio in a 2000 ES300. It's a 1.3 MB PDF document with text and photo's. Click here to download the document. The usual warnings apply; if you break something doing this, you own it! Details: 2000 Lexus ES300 Pioneer radio/tape player combo Premium Sound System no CD player (cable is behind the glove box) Amplifier: I can't find it! Not in trunk or under seat. ps - Thanks Rodders_UK, you're mentioned in the dispatches from the front! Tom
