why not buy an older one for less money in good nick, if ur up to it get a reg before 2001 and ur not hit by the higher tax. with all that change from 12k by buying an older one u could do any little mods u fancy

i agree, just a sharp beep when engaging reverse would have done. instead u feel liek ur reversing a lorry

damn just checked out the is220d 8.6 to 60 and 44mpg bet it doesnt sound like the straight 6 but thats just annoying. faster and more economic. might have to be the next car lol can the 220d engine go in the is200 ? prefur the 200's looks

well if thats the case i wont be keeping the car i think and my guess is it will reduduce the value of higher co2 output cars. what r we ment to drive 1.4's i spose we could all go TDi but as far as im concerned they arnt much cleaner with black smoke coming out the exhaust when u push it

oh hes doing the cambelt and tensioner anyway. i said i was interested and he said it needs cambelt but we would do that anyway no extra cost which is fair enough

I was browsing parkers guide and reading the reviews of the is200 as im a new owner I noticed on this page: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/lexu...=423&page=6 it says a 12 year bodywork warrenty, what does this cover, rust i take it? and does it still stand if its not the original owner. is there some piece of paper that should be in the booklet to make it valid

ive changed my profile to say SE to keep from confusing anyone. wouldnt mind getting the metal pedals sometime. not too keen on an exhaust as it sounds good atm. supercharge would be nice but not anytime soon. nice to see some others in the area. meet sometime would be good. Would like to see ur supercharged one rogue, and i got it in westhill cars. i only pick it up next week as im busy this week and hes doing mot early to give it a years mot and also a service

lol yeah moving thing in cars are amusing. What type-R did u have. i used to have an accord type r but had an accident and decided to get something with more toys. the is200 is quite a bit slower but nm i like the sound and u dont need to rev it to get it

thats what i thought, nah dont really want to put in an induction kit. want to keep it fairly standard I actualy find it hard to find deals up here. i was planning to travel to england to find something. but thankfully this turned up near me and the warrenty etc is useful as if the same had been given by a garage down south it would have been hard to use it.

what is the data for standard suspension?

well im not quite paying whats shown there, got it for 4750 the guy is servicing it, years mot, 3 months warrenty and its got 6 months tax. so im pretty happy It has 90k which is kinda high but im not worried as full service history, engine sounds and feels sweet. bodywork is really good. tyres are pretty much new. only defect is alloys could do with a refurb but not urgent, only noticable on close inspection. all feels solid, electrics work, electric adjustable seats r fun. windows are fast can anyone tell me, does a K&N panal filter help with anything.

i prefur the style is200 uv got to the new ones, dunno why. i prefur slightly older styling maybe. shame no TDI's in the old is200's

thats what i thought, it doesnt have metal pedals so i imagine its not a sport. shame r they possible to fit later? i read the sport is lower too

Hey im a new owner, i just bought a lexus is200 im not entirely sure if its a sport or SE and it was advertised as metalic silver but it seems like its got more depth than normal silver, a tinge of gold perhaps. I dont normally like silver cars, vw/audi's etc as they seem dull but i liked this. love the sound of the engine too. Ive read the forum and plan to get the 4 wheel alignment done according to wim to save the tyres being eaten, i checked the inside edge plenty of tread currently. i dont plan to do much, maybe just xenon headlights and aero wipers which improves safety and style john
