  1. yeah sorry guys, was in a rush to leave for work ;) brain wasnt on :D hehehe thanks for the help :) just need to find a nice site of lex bodykits now ;)
  2. im looking to add a bit of a tune to the great sounding engine and am fishing for recommendations for a decent exhaust to slap on, preferably also somewhere in south london/surrey area to get it fitted too :) any ideas? also, is there a good site somewhere showing all of the lexus is200 bodykits available? cheers guys Andy
  3. has anyone installed anything bigger than a 5" (130mm) drive unit in the existing door hole without any cutting or heavy modification? i ask as im thinking about buying some more of the amazing diamond M6 range and putting their 6.5" (170mm) units in the doors without any cutting of the metal as i would like to be able to refit all the lex parts when i sell it on... The most i was thinking about doing - was making up some mdf spacers and bolting them to the door thru the existing rivet holes then screwing the speakers onto that, i just havent looked at what mounting depth i have available behind the trim yet... Andy
  4. yep, replaced the shelf speakers with some kick ***** 10x7's :) plus upgraded the sub in the boot to a 700 quid diamond 1kw titanuim thing firing thru the ski hatch, JESUS my car sounds fantastic now!!! just gotta pluck up the courage to upgrade the fron speakers now, as even tho the sizes of the speakers are 'standard' ish, the mounting holes are way off regular, but a few bolts and drillin a few more holes did the job :) just got to find a good location for the xbox now as i have the power seats so theres no room under the seats, probably mount it in the boot and run a custom power switch to the dash... Big thanks have to go out to Alex (ukazn) for all his advice :) had to take the rear quarter panels out too tho as the shelf was latched into them, but it all just pops off :) Andy
  5. 40 W!!!! but the doors speakers are running mint! and theyre being fed 160w each! looks like i will be buying some infinities tomorrow then hehehe :) need more sound in the car... i take it then when i remove the rear seat back, i remove the bolts at the bottom, then does the seat lift up and out, or have i gotta go and unclip each headrest restraint? had that on my old A4 and it was a pain in the ***** :) standard 6x9's will fit right? no hacking up the shelf metal? lol thanks :)
  6. first off, ive a 2002 is200 (stereo + amp job) ok, ive installed my ice setup, sounds bloody fantastic, all but the rear shelf... ive left the stock speakers in the car and just slapped them onto a few hundred watts of amps each, runs great, but the rear shelf speakers sound *******, are you all sure theyre 2 speakers running seperately as i havent taken the top plate trims off to inspect it, bit theres only one pair of wires going to each speaker, ive spliced onto those and they work, but i have no treble, im hoping theyre just the mid/woof cones i'm powering and theres a seperate pair of jubbly tweetys hidden on top of the main cones with seperate wiring?? help! ;) btw are the top covers removeable without ripping the shelf out as i cant be ****d to take the rear seatbacks out :) hehehe.. guess if there isnt a set of tweeties ive missed - i'll have to slap some 6x9's in, or are they 7x10's? thanks guys! :) Andy..
  7. yeah i accidentally got mine to 135 on the m23 and it was a lovely drive B) Andy
  8. yeah mines a 2002 sport and opens 2/3rds of the way, but i like it like that as its cool to not let the rain hit the carpet unnessesarily :P Andy
  9. looks like a Vauxhall Astra to me tho... bit of a cheap thing to do by just painting it yellow though, you'd think there would be more spec on a special edition... i could go respray mine pearlescent purple and call it a special edition car... they could have whacked a set of banana alloys and done something with the engine though :( Andy
  10. hey cool, thanks for the info!! as the denison have WAY better storage :) i'll bell him tomorrow and see what he says :) Cheers! Andy
  11. i honestly dont know as ive only just got my lex, all im saying is that compared to audi, its good!! :) i was told the standard service from lexus croydon is £180 + extras that may be needed, which is coooool :D Andy
  12. youre joking right? that was the approx fee for my audi A4 on a yearly basis with audi full service!!! :( this car is already saving me money in the long run :) Andy
  13. has anyont tried one of these out yet? Music Keg its supposed to not be available til july over here in the uk though :( but was thinking about importing one, it looks quite good as i want one that will work of the cd changer controls on my kenny head unit, shame its $499 + shipping though as its only a 10gig (or was it 20gig?) device. otherwise i would go for the denison mp3 80gig drive, but theres no direct control from a kenwood head unit apparently, so i would have 3 din's worth of twiddly stuff in the dash what with the head unit and screen mounted there too lol :D Andy
  14. hmmm, dont fancy driving all the way to oxford though as the install i want would take 2-3 days and bugger leaving it in oxford and trying to get back and to them on the train lol :) thanks for the suggestion tho, will keep it in mind as a fallback :D might ring em anyway and try and get some advice out of them ;) Andy
  15. can anyone recommend a good installers in the london/surrey area as i want to talk to someone that knows what theyre talking about, tried a few including turners in croydon who boast about having installed everything from a-z into a car, but seemed lost when i asked them a few relatively simple questions about multiple head units... grrr... thanks :) Andy also have any of you found cheaper places on the net for buying ice apart from www.letsbuycaraudio.com and www.techtronics.com?
