  1. Hello All, Long time no post - but felt imput was needed :-) I moved from a IS200 up to a IS300, and then swapped to a 2004 Rav4 XT4 - Totally great - yes, its not a Lexus, and Yes its not the same spec, and Yes its not 26k+!!!!!!!! But *** is it fun.....mine is in Lagoon Blue, had a few mods done like adding the TTE Sports Exhaust, Rear Tints etc (Yes I copied the Lexus). Its Fab - Handles well, bloody economical compared to the Lexy, and its got that Toyota build quality too..... Have a look and drool :-) (Updated link to garage) In summary - its a good solid move :-) Hope this helps. Rich
  2. Yes, the RX was rather thirsty ......wonderful car though! So I have gone for its younger sibbling....the Toyota Rav4..... Nearest thing I could get to the RX....certainly cheaper , certainly not as thirsty .....but certainly not a Lexus :-( As I said...needs must. R.
  3. Well I just wanted to say a fond farewell to you mad lexus guys.....n'gals. Its been an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. My Lexus will be leaving me on Thursday this week. I'll be sorry to see it go, but needs must. On that note..... You all enjoy now :-) Rich B)
  4. Hi all, The day maybe nearing to let my IS300 go!!!!! I am trying to get some idea on pricing really. ANybody got any idea's??? IS300 Navigator, Platinum Ice, Sports Grill and Lexus Fit Mudflaps. Registered April 2003. 25k on the clock. Excellent throught, cleaned twice weekly, no curbed alloys etc...... I have looked in Car guides, but a lot of them do not list the IS300.....so answers on the back of a postcard......PM's welcome if interested! Cheers Rich
  5. (1C0) Platinum Ice ------- 85381-53070-B0 for me too please Chris :-) Thanks Rich
  6. Hi Guys.... Does anyone have a list of the revisions that have happened with the 2004 IS? Any pics???? Alloys....interior change etc??? Do the revisions include Xneon? Rich
  7. Hi All, I have a nokia fitted car kit for the 6820 in my IS, and have also fitted a PDA mount too. The PDA mount is currently going to the fag lighter, and I wondered if there was a way to splice it to the phone current so that the fag lighter is not used? ie, how can I make it perminant live? Now, before I get any responses, please bear in the mind the wires going to the phone cradle are all black!!!!, and also I am colour blind :shutit: , so looking for the simplest option here!!! I look forward to your "helpful" responses :-) Rich
  8. 360 MAAANN i wish.. so tell me richard,, what does your weekly drive consist of on average.. how many miles on motorway,, what speeds etc.. Sir Fargo :-) Typical drive from home (Gloucester) to the Office in Stevenage.... 5 Miles of B road.....(Using E-shift) 9 Miles of Motorway .....M5 50 Miles of A40 ......over to Oxford then, 55 Miles of M40, and M25....... Finally A1 for about 24 Miles....... So a good variation.....speeds, well Mway, average 80, A40 Average 60......B Road, average 50..... Most of my routes are similar roads to this...... Given that route is a return of 286, and that is inbetween, half and 3 quarters on the fuel guage. Rich
  9. Petrol......bit more than fargo, (he obviously has a brick on his right foot!!! <g>), seem to max out at about 360-380 to a tank - mainly based on motorway driving, and I do use the cruise control a lot :-)
  10. Nokia 6820 - great phone, good to hold, camera and bluetooth - also nice fold out keyboard!!!!!!!
  11. John..... I too had a 200 for about 9 months, but really wanted the full leather, and hid etc......I did'nt realise just what a different car you get with the 300..... So, where do I start, well there is the obvious things like I have mention, the wonderful full leather, and it is wonderful, really fine quality like you would expect to find. The HID lights - (in true friends tradition) OOOH MY ***! What a difference - I was never impressed with the 200 lights, but hell those 300 lights are fab - would never go back to "normal" lighting. Its silly, but when you switch them on, you can hear the gas ignite, and then you get this white glow in front you - WOW - really wonderful. E-Shift is great, I live slighty of the beacon track, winding roads down to the river, and as soon as I get off the motorway in an evening, I switch to manual - total fun (Within legal limits of course ;-) ). The power of the car is well balanced, so the drive is good, the exhaust note is still tuneful, but not as much as the 200 - although no doubt this could be enhanced with a back box change. So in summary - Am I happy - O yes Do I have any niggles - O no Would I have another 300 - O yes (Probably a sportscross though!) Hope this helps tip the scales :-) Rich
  12. Do we get stung on import duty/tax etc??? Whats the delivery time like? Rich
  13. Had BRIDGESTONE S03PP on from new IS300 - Driven for 20k, good wear, but just replaced all four with Dunlop SP9000 - Cannot comment on them yet. The Bridgestones were good all-weather, never slipped or lost it once! Hope that helps a little. Rich
  14. This is really a cool topic - lol I had the pleasure of meeting Rolf Harris - I was young and suffering from a wicked cough at one of his shows, he took me on stage and introduced me as the little coughing boy....think it was in Bournemouth Had lunch with Cat Deeley and Gareth Gates at Safeways picnic in the park in 2002 - that was interesting - and yes she is bloody fit! Also, at the same event met, Ashley Cole, Gabriel, Joan Collins (Got really star-struck then!!!), and also Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster (***** she has long legs!!!!)
  15. I would like to go for the RX complete with the AV in situ, looks like Lexus have done a good job with it. At the end of the day....it comes down to the money, so might give him a call and see what he can do. Do you have an email for him? Nice sweeping lanes over here in Arlingham, so great for the e-shift What part of town you at then?
  16. Rankin....... I'm over in Sunny Arlingham B) Still staying within the Lexus Family hopefully, quite fancy one of the RX's as what with the kids (and their stuff) and wanted to drive around France in the Summer, thought that might be more practical (ooooo hate that word!!!) Fargo.....Hmmmm, so I got to be talking 20k, maybe a little more I guess!!!! Did you get yours from a dealer, or private purchase??? I have been in touch with Swindon Lexus....but since mark P left I ain;t got too much faith ya know ....so think I might pop into Oxford or Bristol....maybe on the way home today.
  17. Hi All, I am considering changing my vehicle, the IS300 has served me well since April 03, but I really need a change? Does anybody have any idea of what it seems to be worth at the moment IS300 Plat Ice with DVD Nav 18k Register April 03 Service Vouchers Good Clean car with no dings or scuffs on the alloys! Thanks Rich
  18. Ello Mr Fargo :-) Hmmmm, bloody annoying this then!!!! Why does it affect the DV Nav???? I thought this was already boot situated etc??? I have look at the FM solutions, and from previous form I would not really like to go down that route....although I might have too I guess. How far away are you from adding a Aux in????
  19. I would like to add a mp3 Solution to the stock kit in my IS300? What is the best solution to do this? or indeed, can it be done?
  20. Hiya Claire Thanks for the input...yep have had a look at the Detailing section, and its pretty good (Still reading actually!) Have not tried the Zymol....should give it a blast really...maybe a trip to Halfords. I always used to swear by AutoGlym, but there are just so many different products now, its unreal. Rich
  21. Evening all...... I have tried various things on my car to get the best finish, and wondered where you guys all get your bits from....I know some prefer the AutoGlyms, and the P21's, and the iauto bits.....but where is the best place to get your cleaning kits from!!! Also, Alloy cleaning brush??? What the best????? Any comments (Of a helpful nature of course!!! ) would be appreciated Rich
  22. Pulse...... Got the same problems, although not quite as bad as yours I must say!!!!! Gonna wait and get through these winter months before taking mine back to see Lexus Swindon and get it sorted - its just not bloody on!!! Its one thing to have soft paint, but alloys as well - COME ON LEXUS SORT IT OUT!!!!! Rich
  23. IS300 - Sweet, just sweet. I changed from a 200 to a 300, mainly because I got a good deal (My 200 was only 8 months old!!!!), the Xenon Lights (Such a differance!!), full leather.....and oh, of course the Grrrrrr 3Ltr engine. Truth is the e-shift is interesting, and fun on the swirling roads, when I turn onto my lane for the last 5 miles home, its always on e-shift!!!! The Auto box, is smooth if driven right, and it does take a little getting used too, but still sweet!!!! So, IS300 then :-D
  24. Having had a 200, and now a 300 I would say the "gentle beep" was just another Lexus "feature". Although the 300 is auto....it is something I miss from the motor!!! :mat:
  25. Yeah I know **** happens and all that - but it still p :tsktsk: s you off!!!! Have not tried to get it sorted at all yet, across the bonnet its about 25inches in length, and deep enough to create a groove down to the metal! Not sure Chips away could deal with it to be honest - might be worth a call though I guess. Still think I will leave it till March time to get fixed, once all the gritters have stopped spreading and all the road are NOT so dirty!!!! Thanks for your thoughts.......feel better already ;-) Rich
