  1. Cheers :) I'm on the South Side mate, just round Queens Park way
  2. Just to drag this one back from the depths, I'm now the proud owner of SWFCDan's IS200 Sport :D Picked it up on Sunday and made the long journey from Sheffield to it's new home in Glasgow. It's a big hit with the wife, which is always a plus B)
  3. Glasgow City Council rather helpfully neglected to grit the road outside my flat yesterday morning, or any of the pavements for that matter, so after falling on my arse once upon stepping out the front door and then again trying to get the frozen-shut car door open, I was greeted with a scene of utter chaos; two cars had already slid gracefully into a set of bollards at the end of the road, and 4 cars trying to do 3 point turns to go back out the other way promptly got themselves stuck in the gutters due to the 5-10mm thick sheet ice coating the road. Me in my bedecked, coilovered, no-ABS'd 200SX managed to extricate myself without any trouble and get on my way, albeit about half an hour late! It was only after I'd made my way to Edinburgh (I'm in Glasgow) and then back to the office I realised that my eyes must have been on stalks the whole way there and back. I was absolutely shattered! I swear every third car I saw on the road yesterday was a recovery truck with a pranged car or van on the back. I wonder if the folk who slid into the bollards would have any recourse against the Council not gritting the road?
  4. It'll be going to a good home though, trust me :winky: I have an odd affliction where no car appeals to me until it's been superceded by the newer model. The new IS does nothing for me yet, the 350Z is only just beginning to grow on me, and I'd probably still choose an R32 Skyline GTR over any of the newer versions. That might just be me though
  5. Coming from 200SX ownership and heading for IS200 ownership, and just having had my first test drive, I've got to say, it felt pretty sluggish. Hasn't put me off at all though, as in virtually every other way it's an extremely nice drive. Also, should you build up some funds, there're several engine swap options which would spice things up very nicely if you decide you want serious powerz
  6. Oooh, well reminded! I hadn't even considered that. There would be much sadness if I'd neglected to test this!
  7. Once again, good stuff. Please keep it coming. This is where internet car communities come into their own in my opinion :winky: Yeah, I've been keeping my eyes peeled, and I see decent cars for sale regularily. Unfortunately they're all usually about 300+ miles away from me! More than willing to make the trip for the right car though :)
  8. Good stuff, exactly what I'm after. Do I need to keep an eye open for an common spots of corrosion? Not that I've never heard of or seen anything like that on any of them, or most relatively new Toyotas come to that, but with a 91 200SX at present it's an ever present spectre that I'm keen to get away from! Is the bodywork/structural stuff ever a cause for concern on these generally?
  9. Afternoon all, Up until now I've only existed in the world of Nissan 200SX's, so when it comes to trying to find a good IS200, then I'm at a bit of a disadvantage My budget is limiting me to fairly high mileage models, and obviously with the new post 2001 tax rules, I'll be looking for one that doesn't get hammered under them. I've obviously got the buyer's guide from this site, but I was just wondering if anyone can give me any specific pointers on what to look for? Also, how do I know if a car's too cheap? The very last thing I need is to be stuck with one niggly problem after another. I believe that the last time I looked on the SXOC that they had a list of cars for sale to be wary of i.e. dodgy sellers, cars in significantly worse state than as advertised, etc. I haven't seen anything like this on LOC, but it might be a good idea? I realise that the above questions are probably real novice questions, but, well, I'm a novice, and a nervous one at that :D Any help offered gratefully appreciated :winky: Cheers, Graham
  10. its 2jz in that piccie mate. Am's tezzy: Yes, I could live with that one, perhaps a slightly differenct wheel choice, but yeah, I like that one a lot. What's the front lip, Trust?
  11. For the record, the pictured car is no trailer queen, it gets used and abused to it's full potential (possibly one of the reasons why it gets painted so much!). 2JZ and a big single means it would be very quick if they ever kept it in a straight line too...
  12. Came across this pic on my travels, thought it might give some inspiration to some on here. Certainly done so for me! Car's been around for a good few years now, but they change the colour every few months, so you've probably seen it under a few guises. Still, the best example of an s/gxe10 chassis I've come across so far. Feel free to try and beat it :D
  13. Cheers guys. I expect it to be a bit of an altogether different car to my 200, which is the only car I've ever owned up till now. It's going to be a good bit slower too, but as long as I'm getting pushed along by the rear wheels rather than getting my ***** dragged around by the front, it's all good as far as I'm concerned :D Anyway, more power can come later... ;) Thanks again for the welcome, Graham
  14. Oops, sorry although I didn't intend to actually stick up a dedicated for sale thread on here :) Cheers for the replies. I look forward to bugging you all with random questions :D
