  1. I can't check the car as I am now 100 miles away from it. So do the newer cars run from dvd and the older ones cd? (the disc was not advertised as a dvd, but I think it is)
  2. I thought I would be kind and give my dad a much needed xmas pressie, up to date satnav. He has a 2001 IS200 with the original satnav disc and data. He has asked his dealer over the last couple of years for updates and they have said no or offered it as the silly high price. I bought him a 2004/5 sat nav cd so he could have up to date info, but it does not work. Can you only have updates on the older Lexus models and not new discs? Have I wasted my money, or does anyone know how to make the satnav disc work? Thanks,
  3. For those not at the East Anglia meet, there is a jap meet on Sunday. This Sunday there is a jap car meet at the Bubble Inn an Stenson, Derby. The meet starts at 12pm (and is actually held monthly) For more information click below organisers website The site has lots of pics from the previous meets For those searching themselves, the postcode is DE73 1HL There are a few pre-meets being set up. The mainly scoobys and rx7s starts in Coventry Evo's starts near the location Anyone going up the M1?
  4. I will be there again next year. Hope we get similar weather again, maybe a bit warmer though. B)
  5. I can't believe there is a meet near me and instead I am down in Essex at my parents. I will try to let my dad know to see if he can make it in his Lex. If not then I will try to spend time in getting him onto the site.
  6. UKpulse, My dad also looked at volvo and jaguar and said that the lexus offered everything he wanted. He bought it at Woodford, Essex. I might get some pics in a couple of weeks (when I next visit). Will also try and sign him onto the site (guess he hasn't worked out how to), so he can post himself.
  7. Way back in March I asked for owners likes and dislikes of the IS200, as my dad was shopping for a car. On Friday he became the proud owner of an IS200 SE (nearly 2 years old) in Granite sky with sat nav etc. :D I can't believe it has taken him since the beginning of the year to decide on a car. He has commented that the ride is firmer than he would like (car is sitting on low profile bridgestones), so I guess that plays a large part. He purchased the car from a dealer and was not impressed with the condition when he collected it, so it will have to go back for some 'adjustments' that should have been dealt with before collection He even let me drive it on Saturday (still prefer my MR2) :P My next task is to get him to sign up here and to bring him along to a meet. So thank you for the honest opinions you gave on the IS200. (Better go back to my correct forum (TOC))
  8. Chris, Local dealer has offered test drive, which he hopes to do in the next week or so. He likes the red B)
  9. My dad said... thanks for you input, really useful. Its confirmed my own thoughts. Volvo was second choice (S40/60) and I did also think that a revamp may be due on the Lexus as some basic toys are missing. Its now down to cost to go new or 2nd hand, lease or buy as I use it for work, not rep! so the brakes and handling are important as is the comfort for central london traffic. :) If anyone else wishes to add comments, I will let him know.
  10. Parthiban, Will let you know which volvo is in the running on Sunday night, as I will be visiting parents and showing my dad some of the comments so far, he also has a Lexus brochure to show me. I think he will be pleased by the range of comments so far :) (thanks)
  11. I went as part of the Toyota crew to Gaydon and we enjoyed it plus I got to meet lots of people. :D A desk might help, but the people on it get to miss out on the cars etc. Why do Lexus owners leave meets so early? I came out of the museum, went to look at the cars and they had gone.
  12. I popped over from the 'ToyotaOwnersClub' with a question What do you enjoy the most, or what annoys you the most with your IS200? Asking, as my dad is thinking of buying one, probably new (also thinking of a volvo..boo). I would like to persuade him to go for the IS200, so owners thoughts would be a great help. :) Thank you for your comments.
