  1. Admittedly.. it was pretty damn good.... The handling blew my mind, i could throw it into a corner and it would grip and grip. Obviously there are limitations, but was aweeemazing ( Awesome and amazing together!). The tyres would squeel but thats just them telling me they are having a good time! The body roll was a tad annoying as i kept on getting flung out of the seat, but it is expected from such a large and heavy car. Though it was kept in shape and still cornered like a pro! The only bad point, would be the lack of power, i was left in the dust on the long long straight.... So one day.. supercharger kit!!! If it exsists! Also.. because the engine is so damn quiet and i was using semi auto mode, i kept on hitting the rev limiter (even though there are colourful lights on the dials to tell me i should shift...) you kind of ignore those when concentrating at the corner ahead. I actaully got a couple of compliments on the day... one was the track marshall saying that i looked good on the track, possibly cos i was over taking alot of cars. And a dude driving a BMW 330 and a Saab something Aero Estate.. Both very good at driving and both very fast, and was surprised that i was still leading or still following them after 2 laps. MORE IS250 owners.. Take your cars on the track!.. You won't break it!
  2. There also appears to another box of electronics between the Washer bottle and the lamp cluster. Maybe it only appears on the IS220d, attatched to that is a loom running accross the front... It was the offside one that had blown, and I thought I'd be clever by changing both for white LED ones, however I think I'll just change the offside on for a standard lamp, then at least they'll match! I also now have to get hold of a few cover clips, as at least 3 shot off somewhere.... sigh!!! Horses for courses as they say. I'd nip down to Lexus and have a coffee whilst admiring the receptionists assets while the boys who know what thery are doing get on with it. Unfortunately... my local Lexus has guys in the reception.. so no go for using lexus to change them out!. Though.. they do offer free wi-fi. And the toilet there is huuuuuge, probably the size of my bedroom, but with only 1 bog! lol! I need to change my side lights out soon, i can't stand the HID white with the yellow side light. (damn should have kept my white bulbs on my old car before i sold it!)
  3. The dodgy DVD-R and the chinese style VCD is the only formats i have!... being from Hong Kong, owning REAL DVDs is a new concept! lol ....Thats a dilema and a half.... Changing software and maps.. or put in the Tom's DVD hack modules on one hand, i do hate trying to find non existant roads .. but on the other hand... i would like the option of dodgy DVD's ..... Poooo!!!!
  4. Well.. on his website.. or the track day website. These smaller versions are the Sample Pictures...I meerly just right clicked and saved..... If he didn;t want me to have these pictures. he would have made them into even smaller thumbnails..and put water marks all of them... Got to admit.. he is one good photographer!
  5. Just some snaps on the track, by the professional photographer. Not sure i wanted to pay 30 quid per car, but i got these photos to show! Was at Bedford Autodrome up in... Bedford of course, and it was interesting seeing a Lexus there, as.. well.. most cars there were the likes of M3's and other semi hardcore track cars. But that did not mean the IS250 was lame... Infact.. it was aweeeeessssooooommmmmeee!!! IT lacked a bit of power on the straights but cornering was fantastic. OF course.. i did turn off all the driving aids from the hack found on this forum, the little lexus then turns into a beast with lots of over steer if need be!... Don't worry.. There is a Video which i have also included to show just how good it was.... Enjoy guys! There might have been some body roll......... As shown........ It is expected reallly! for such a big car Hard on the brakes....... Thus the nose dips down Credit crunching MPG... 11mpg.. with a 4 mile track... about 1.50 per lap! And one honda s2000 just for luck-- brother's car And of course.. the video! IS250 Track Couldn't figure out how to embbed the video on the forum.. so this will do! It is a long video... It only gets a bit interesting when i start over taking cars like a ....... chav?... about half way is where i keep up with a scooby.. which then nails me on the straights.... Enjoy!
  6. Same.. From the loan cars i have been getting.. and mine is a 2005 IS250 SEl MM.... The fuel and boot release is different, Auto lock Also.. the VCIM thingy bob... if you hold the TCS button for 8 secs it turns it off.. Not sure how effective it is... all i know is.. i'll be taking my beloved is250 on the track this saturday, and i am sure i'll be turning all that off with the little hack found on this forum! heheheheh God i love this place! I think the sat nav menu has another button, like trip info for MPG... The number plate was an 08.. instead of 05.. ( hahaha) Ummm....it was cleaner... There really is no difference, the boot release and fuel filler cap is a nice change as i always press the wrong button. Also think they are illuminated ....
  7. Wished i got the SEL with 18 inch alloys... trying to go for that all stock look... have the 17 inch now.. and they look a bit funny on the rear as the tyre profile is a bit thicker, 18 inch alloys from the dealer costs a bomb!... even from japan....
  8. I got the RX400h for a courtesy car the other month... Awesome car to play with, i had to rinse the fuel before i gave it back cos i might have filled it up too much.... pretty quick... scarily it is faster than my Is250! mum didn't like it when i was trying out the handling!- swayed a little too much, but thats expected from a SUV... it was proper silent when using the electric motors. IT is like a constant game when you only try to use the electric motors and trying to save fuel! Also played with the electric sun roof, as in.. i stood up and took my airsoft m4 rifle out and pretended it was a humvee hahah.. (course this was all legal in the privacy of my own drievway!)....proper gangster!.. my brother laughed and took a picture of me! Did also love the auto boot opening thingy, wow'd people at Ikea when i opened just to put a couple of bags in there! Though i have already had is250 sport, is250 SE as courtesy cars, didn;t quite par up to my SE-L! Maybe next time i'll get the IS-F.... fingers crossed!
  9. OOO.. Ace cafe, thats like proper near me... Course.. i don't know anyone, But i do drive a Lexus Is250 SE-L !!!!
  10. I go to the Lexus in colindale/ edgware road. They are moving to a bigger showrom today infact. Really nice... only problem is lexus only has a few cars in it's line up and the show room is huge! Just bought the Is250 2 or 3 weeks ago so i am a bit new to all this. (unfortunately not brand new) Oh man.. i thought i had this body kit thing figured out... it is just i don't want to pay dealer prices for the kit itself, and then fitting it. which will cost a bomb... Any other cheap options?.. I should have gone to get the spoiler in America when i was over there for my holiday (like Tango did). but that was before i got my car and i didn't know!
  11. holy crap!!!, it takes that much effort?? I thought the spoiler was just attached with tape, and the front lip slipped into place with a couple of clips securing it or something! i am handy but this is a new type of handy... Esp with drilling holes on the bumper and boot lid in very open area... Hmmm need to think about it now... esp when i am not buying my bodykit from the dealer. all on Ebay..... And they claimed the spoiler is attached on just with tape or something... Oh no for me then :(
  12. Right... okies... no introduction needed... I own a IS250 SE-L (Yay) and i am about to/ thinking of bodykitting it with the factory body kit (not from the UK of course) The questions is rather quick... How is the spoiler attached? is it with screws or just using.... tape.... And how is the front lip attached on? can it be done without the removal of the front bumper? Thats about it, not putting on the side skirts because they have no difference in look, same story as the rear bumper. Thanks in advance guys!
