Hi, I'm after some advice, I'm thinking of selling my May 2006 GS450h SE in black with around 62,000 miles and extended Lexus warranty until December 2010. The thing is values for similar cars on various sites seem to vary widly and I wondered if anyone had sold one recently, what sort of price did they get? This is a genuine enquiry as I'm not sure if I want to sell it or not. Thanks in advance.

I've got a 2006 GS450h and I have used an iPhone, Nokia N95 and a Blackberry 8900 on the cars bluetooth system with no problems at all. The only phone that would transfer the phonebook to the car was the Nokia though and out of the three was probably the best for quality in terms of sound etc. I hope that helps.

I purchased my 2006 GS450h in November last year with just over 40,000 miles on it and have since added another 20,000 trouble free miles to it. Previous to this car I had a new shape Audi A8 that spent more time in the garage being repaired than I spent driving it...!! I guess that all cars will have problems and anyone who does have problems with their car is more likely to post it on a forum, which then may give the impression of poor reliability. I've been very happy with the Lexus experience so far and long may it continue.

I've got a May 2006 GS450h SE and that has a Mark Levinson sound system which sounds excellent to me, far better than the Bose system that I had in the latest shape Audi A8. Prior to the 450h I had the GS300 SE, that didn't have the Mark Levinson system but was still pretty good and if my memory serves me right I was told by the dealer that Mark Levinson was standard fitment on all 450h's from launch.

I have a 450h of the same vintage. I moved from an Avensis with a cavernous boot. It all depends on what you regularly do. We find that the boot is the similair to a small hatchaback. like a fiesta or maybe even a focus. Sometimes some additional though is required when planning a trip, but we have never found it to be an issue. For all the other rewards of the car the boot can be at most, a minor inconvenience. If you are buying from a lexus centre, why not see if you can book a 24hr test drive in a new 450h and see how it goes? Paul Thanks Paul for your comments. We will take your advice and try to arrange a 24 hour test with our local Lexus dealer here in Chester. Roy I too have a 450h and I find the boot to be more than adequate for day to day use. The only time I wish it had more space is when going on holiday with the wife and two kids but I got the Lexus dealer to throw in a roofbox as part of the deal which solves that issue. I find that when you show someone the car and they look in the boot their first reaction is to comment on how small it is but let's be honest, how often would you need more space?? It'll quite happily take my golf clubs and a trolley at the weekend and most of the rest of the time the boots empty anyway. Simon

I'm not sure if this helps or not but I was able to transfer all of my contacts to my GS450h using a Nokia N95. In the phonebook of my Nokia I was able to select all contacts and then send them as a business card to the car, I'm sure the car had to be in receiving mode too, which if I remember correctly is somewhere in the phone settings of the car?? I hope this helps.

I think there's a lot of dealers with a lot of stock who aren't selling much/anything at the moment and most will consider a deal, if you convince them that you are serious and prepared to do a quick deal. Also bear in mind that this was back in August when the credit crunch was only just starting to be talked about, I reckon you could get an even better deal in today's market. Good luck. Hi, Back in August I purchased a 55 plate GS300SE with 36,000 miles from a Lexus dealer for £15,500, it was originally advertised at £17,995 and even with the discount I managed to get 2 years warranty and 2 years servicing thrown in. In answer to your question regarding the timing chain I believe it doesn't need changing until 100,000 miles.

Hi all and apologies for the long post.... I'm just after some advice as I'm not really sure what I should do? Basically, two weeks ago I took delivery of a new shape Lexus GS 300 2005 on a 55 plate, which I purchased from a Lexus dealer. The main reason for buying from a Lexus dealer was that I managed to get an extra two years warranty and two years servicing included in the already reasonable purchase price plus I get peace of mind. Everything has been fine with the car up until last Sunday when a number of warning lights appeared in the dash and the car then wouldn't lock !! I took the car to my local Lexus dealer (not the dealer I bought the car from as they are 150 miles away) who spent the rest of the day trying to diagnose what the fault might be. They kept the car overnight and rang me yesterday to say that it could take days or even weeks to discover what is causing the fault and that this isn't the first time the car has had this problem. When they looked into the warranty claims they discovered that the car has had over £6,000 spent on it and the three different wiring looms replaced (the car only has three in total), trying to resolve the problem. I contacted the supplying dealer and they have agreed to collect the car from my local dealer and supply me with an equivalent loan car whilst they try and get to the bottom of the problem. The car is still within the 30 day or 1,000 miles no quibble exchange policy so I can reject the car if I want to, but my question is would you allow them to try and fix the car and if I do, do you think it will affect my right to exchange the car if I'm not happy? Any advice on any of the above would be really appreciated and if you think there is anything else I should be doing or asking for, please let me know - As a caveat to the above I have to say that they are being really good about it all and the dealer principle is looking after this himself, he has said that if they can't fix it they will find me an equivalent car.

I've just taken delivery of a 2006 GS300 SE which replaced a new shape Audi A8 - What a great car and certainly feels a lot more modern than the Audi. Despite spending over an hour with the Lexus salesman on the hand over, I'm still finding out things about the car I never knew it did... Whilst I have managed to connect my Nokia N95 to the car's bluetooth system and been able to copy all of my contacts over in one go, I can't get the car system to display the name of the person who's calling me?? When I first copied my contacts accross I couldn't even get the number of the person to display but having read through these forums, I managed to work out that if I removed the '+' in front of the number and replaced it with '0044' the number would show up. However, I still can't get the name of the person calling to show up even those stored under the car's one touch buttons, I'm sure it's something to do with the way I've stored my contacts in the phone but I've tried all combinations and I can't get it to work - Has anyone had the same issue who could let me know what I'm doing wrong?
