  1. Has anyone changed the rx450 front bumper from the pre 2013 to the post 2013 style? If so was it easy, expensive etc?
  2. May I ask for a recommendation for non OEM front discs and pads please for my 2006 RX400H Thanks in advance...
  3. Hi, well its been almost 6 years since I had a Lexus and I am now back to a 400H again - needed a tow car so thought I would get another one to use for summer. So, last time I had the 400H I simply connected an iPhone and all good. However my Galaxy S5 wont transfer phone book to the Lexus system. Anyone else had the same issue? Is their a solution? Thanks in advance...
  4. Superb, JBP, thank you very much. It was those last 2 10mm I couldnt see - doh! Regards, john
  5. I have been trying to remove the radio from my 2007 RX400 to no avail. I have searched the forum and cannot find anything - it could be that it is in here but I cant find it! I have taken off the surround from the shift and the small panel above it which houses the heated seats and cig lighter. I can see and have removed 2 x 10mm bolts and have also removed 4 x self tap screws. However, nothing is loose! Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, John
  6. 55 plate just out of warranty but Lexus Hull (brilliant dealership) have allowed us to pay just the labour at £300 and they have taken the £3300 as warranty. <ileage on the car at failure was 54k I love the car so glad they did the repair especially at this cost!
  7. It was indeed the inverter and now fixed at a cost of £3600 - happy days!
  8. pulled out of junction, very loud bang and lost all transmission drive. Any ideas? Just waiting for it to be recovered and diagnosed by Lexus dealer but thought a heads up would be good! thanks in advance John
  9. I feel like a real t** now, doh! Yes, I have driven the IS-F and on the day I also drove a highly modified 'front wheel' drive Civic Type R - - - I preferred the IS-F but decided a lot of money for a Lexus that I couldnt use power for the road and too expensive for the track, thus keeping the scooby and my other Lexi - is that plural term correct! Thanks for pulling me up on that one I deserve it
  10. My scooby can break the 4sec mark :-) ISF eat your heart out that's why I have a 220D and an RX400h and dont need the power surge for everyday as I just walk into the garage and fire up the beuty in there and get to 60mph at circa 3.8 - yep Im lucky I suppose and long may it last.... Ive driven the ISF and thought it was quick enough to be honest as a lot of torque steer - not used to that in my scoob as it just points and goes :-)
  11. Yep, points taken and decided to keep the IS200. I am hoping to get a white RX450h next year so ..................
  12. Thanks atce4.... Was offered £5500 off the dealer who supplied my RX so I am considering. However, as the salesman said, I can buy an awful lot of fuel for the IS compared to the possible £10k to change to a 220d - I am thinking he is right, plus the wife loves the IS to bits so maybe I will be keeping her - the car that is! Thanks again for the responses....
  13. Depends where in Cheshire you are but, Paint Autocraft in Runcorn is highly recommended
  14. Hi, I am thinking about changing the wife's IS200 for a 220d. For the short time I had my 220d I enjoyed it but no comparison to my RX400. However, due to fuel consumption and the amount of miles she will be doing from now on, the 220d is going to be the best option. Problem is I dont know how much to ask and the reason being is the condition and mileage! Its an 03/2003, blue (best colour IMO) and has done a genuine 23000 miles with only one previous owner to us. It is immaculate to say the least! Anyone have an opinion as to value as obviously cant come too close to the new shape or can I due to mileage? Hard one to shout I know but.... Thanks, John
  15. Is there any company that produces a chip fo the RX400?
  16. Hi, I havent been on for while as been too busy, but I am trying to make time for the more important things in life! I have an IS200 - 2003 vintage with just 20k on the clock and love it. So much so I am buying another one inaddition but this is a 2008 IS200d. Whilst it does pick its heels up when worked through the gearbox I would like to have a little more power if possible. I cant find anything or anyone that can remap/chip the 220d. Is there anyone/anything that can be recommended? Thanks, John
  17. Thanks guys, appreciate the advice....will have to see the bank manager of HSBC....
  18. Not been on for while but have a question or two that I need advice on please IS200 - 2003 model. The car has 17000 miles on it and has been serviced every year despite its low mileage. I want to have a 20k mile service carried out and have been quoted accordingly from Lexus dealer - expensive but... The dealer mentioned about the cam belt and said they would look at the condition but Lexus recommend every 6 yrs or 60k. As the car has low mileage is it worth me having the belt changed now per the 6 year 'rule' ? Again expesnive but if it lets go then expense of change will be irrelevant at that stage! Thanks in advance....John
