  1. Hi mate, yes, behind the dashboard i have the plug from the old unit which plugs into a "Square type connection" and the other unit has the same type of plug unit that it came out of, should this be plug and play if this is the case? Providing the loom carries the correct wiring to the trunk of the vehicle where the receiver and nav DVD head are fitted, I know my 2003 Mk1SE non nav has no loom connections in the trunk even though looking at the connections behind the radio it all looks compatible. Just be careful or prepared for a possible difficult installation. Hello, I got an RX300 SE-L with the satnav factory fitted but installed a an after market pioneer navi system by takin out the 6CD changer and fiited the aftermarket pioneer and works great....so u might wanna have a look at this instead...wots your email, i can send u pics of the full installation but know how to insert the pics here in the forum.
  2. Hi RML133 Men you are the man!!! been looking for this for almost 1month and no-one seems to sell this. Just a quick one, is it a Double Din cos this is exactly wot i've want? You planning to fit a Sat nav or Radio/CD unit wit urs? Also is ur RX fitted with a standard Sat nav? My Disc is not playing and thats why i wanna fit my Pioneer i removed from my IS200 and put inside the RX. Once again, thanks....now i can have a good sleep this wkend. Hi, Got my RX300 Radio Panel delivered yesterday from the japanese guy...looks good. Just wanted to know if you've been able to fit urs and when you removed the 6CD changer that came wit the lexus did you Aircon etc working? Spoke to lexus and said once the radio has been removed then the aircon/buttons will not function. My Pioneer guy too confirmed it didnt work when he disconnected the radio to fit the pioneer sat nav. Can u pls confirm if you got urs working and was there any modification done to get the aircon/buttons 2 work? Thanks Glad to hear that you received your panel from Japan OK. I haven't had time to do it yet. However, I don't see why there should be a problem with the aircon as that's controlled from the upper unit. Don't see why it should be linked to the bottom radio unit - after all there are no aircon controls on it. As I see it, you should be able to remove the radio unit and (relatively) easily replace it with something more your liking. Just connect to pwer and the speakers. I think the Lexus amp is located elsewhere but you could either bypass it or use it. Why don't we continue this on the forum so that everyone can see and learn and (perhaps) contribute? Regards ------------------------- Hi RML133, Thats what I thot as well since the controls are on the upper panel then it shud be a case of removing the CD Changer bit and fit anything you want but this is not the case. Apparently the CD Changer has been connected to together with the whole unit so if you take out the CD changer out the the Aircon/buttons too will not work, maybe this was done as an anti-theft mechanism. When I went to the guys at my local Halfords yesterday, they told me to confirm from Lexus that will removing the CD changer have any implication with other systems on the car but I was like it shudnt since u are only takin out the changer bit out and today took it to my Pioneer guy who fitted my Pioneer sat nav in my IS200. Said when he removed the Cd changer, the aircon/button controls did not work but when he fitted it back, everythin went back to its normal state. Went to Lexus immediately to confirm and they said the same thing too that once the CD changer has been taken out then aircon/control buttons will not work and had once incident recently where they had to send the CD changer for repair and the aircon wasnt working. Only i've found so far is able to install a TV turner to ur existing sat nav screen and watchin TV programmes http://www.soarer.tv/Gallery/Toyota%20Harrier%20Gallery.htm http://soarer.tv/jap-imports-sva/Lexus-Har...-Conversion.htm Gonna try go to other peeps/shops that can fit after-market sat nav cos i'm sure there shud be some kind of a bypass/adapter to make it work or workaround to it.....do let me know how u go about urs. thanks @ Parthiban Yes, I have disconnected the negative side for over 5mins and reconnected but still not working. Even taken out the DVD unit in the boot and opened it all up, disconnected the the small cable that connects the motherboard to the drive and no joy as well. Bought the lastest DVD map updates DVD 2008-2009 version .1 not working, took it to Lexus and they tried other Disc for 2003/2004 model still not working and was told except i leave the car and see if they can change the unit it another exact model so will plug mine to the other car it doesnt work and it works on mine then have to change my unit and lookin around 1,800 to 2,000quid and its still gonna be for the same unit spec and not like the newer Gen 4-5. version.

  6. Hi Ian-Leeds I've sent you a PM...wot do you think? I've spent loads buying DVD+R DL disc and all not working.
  7. Hi thanks for repying....How did u fix the problem? Cos my original Disc is not even reading again and the new update disc 08927-00955 (2008-2009 Ver.1 which includes 3 disc, WEST, CENTRAL, EAST) are also not playing. I've tried the procedures as listed here but still cant get anythin t work on the Verbatim DVD+R DL discs Which disc did u use to make a copy of ur original map disc...guessing its a DVD+R DL since the total files are over 6GB, right? http://www.siennaclub.org/forum/index.php?...mp;#entry110460 Creating the hybrid DVD: 1. First verify your DVD and burner will work using the steps above. 2. Copy all of your files from your 6.1 disc to your hard drive. (nothing special, just drag and drop them). 3. Replace the Loading.kiwi file in the file on your computer with the 5.x version. 4. Complete the following steps to create the image using ImgBurn: a. If you don't have the ImgBurn software, you can get it for free from ttp://imgburn.com/ b. Start ImgBurn software. c. From Mode menu, select Build. d. In the Source panel, click the Browse for a Folder icon. A Browse for Folder dialog box appears. e. Navigate to and select the directory on your computer where the files are located. f. Click OK. The selected directory displays in the Source panel. g. In the Destination panel, click the Browse for a file icon. The Save As dialog box appears. NOTE: You are about to create a DVD ISO image using the files copied to your hard drive, so be sure to navigate to a directory that has enough space to hold about 8 GB. h. Navigate to the directory you want to save the image, and then type a name in the File Name field. (For example: type NavCD_hybrid) i. Click Save. The destination you selected is displayed in the destination panel. j. Just below the Destination panel, click the Build icon. ImgBurn creates a DVD image of the files you selected. This will take a while -- close to 1 hour for me. 5. To burn the image that you created in step 4, complete the following steps: a. From ImgBurn, select the Mode menu, and then select Write. b. In the Source panel, click the Browse for a File icon. A Browse for File dialog box appears. c. Navigate to the DVD image that you created in step 4, ad select it. d. Click Open. e. Put your new DL DVD into your burner, and click the Write icon. Congratulations - you should have your hybrid DVD.
  8. Hi, Anyone in the UK with the RX300 2004 Reg model....Have you seen something like this on ur Sat NaV screen? I keep getting this when I insert the DVD map that ca-e wit it 2003-2004 Ver.1. I have ordered the new update disc from Lexus updates site which is 08-09Ver.1 West and still coming up with the same thing about unable to read data. I've tried to make a new copy on a DVD+R DL since the total file from the old disc is like 6GB, which will not hold on a normal DVD-R disc....but got it working partially running wit the map loading but atimes keeps saying i shud check the disc as it maybe be damaged or dirty....reason being that i didnt burn all the files to the normal DVD-R disc as no more space to burn all files. Does anyone have a spare copy i can use to test as the new latest disc 08-09Ver.1 West is not working as well after spending like 159 euros :-( thanks
  9. Hello, any luck wit the double din for ur RX330 yet?
  10. Does anyone know where I can get the Radio/CD Changer bit that sits under the Sat Nav screen on the dashboard or someone that has removed theirs maybe due to error 3, 4 etc on the CD player? I'm trying to install an after market Sat Nav (Pioneer AVIC HD1BT) that was removed from my old IS200 but looks like there is no double fascia for it and the Satnav wont fit in the space of the standard Satnav. The Lexus Satnav is not working as it keeps saying unable to read data on disc and check if the right DVD map disc has been inserted. It worked when I got the car but I ejected the the Map DVD and tried to play a Video DVD to see if it will play but didnt and removed it then inserted the Map DVD back but still giving me the same msg. Dont everythin possible but no luck. My only solution is to get another fascia/the radio bit and modify so that the Pioneer Satnav can fit inside as Lexus was saying might have to get a new DVD satnav system which is not coming cheap and besides I love the Pioneer satnav too much to let be chillin in the box doing nothing
  11. Hi, Thanks for replying. Yeh cos was thinking of going to the Pioneer shop i fixed the previous one and hopefully help me fix it, might just need to get a new facial as the pioneer sat nav slides out so u can insert the dvd/cd's. Also is there a way u can install a bluetooth to the standard sat nav? Cos the pionerr has got everything with bluetooth. http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/10/20...3-II/index.html Have u encountered a problem with ur back camera before cos when i was tryin to reverse and changed the options of the parking guide....got camera malfunction and changed the gear to drive and put it back to reverse but didnt get the camera malfunction again.

  13. Hello, Just recently bought a Lexus RX300 SE-L 2004 Reg after upgrading from IS200. Is it possible to Play DVD movies on the Sat Nav screen or you will need to install additional DVD auxilliary box for this to work becos i inserted a DVD disc in the 6CD changer and came up as disc error/not readable. Or is there another drive for the DVD hidden somewhere (boot maybe)? Also is it possible to remove the standard sat nav/screen that came with this model and fix a 3rd party e.g Pioneer HD1BT, which I've got in my other IS200 cos so much like it and u can play DVD while driving which other ones dont and besides it got all my saved journeys on it. Thanks
