  1. i had one in my last lex with the sony built in, i sold it seperate for £250, i really want it back lol, but have no idea how to go about wiring it in and setting the 2 buttons to open and close
  2. gotta say, there was a thread about this a week or so ago and as i had the same smell, i brought a £11 can from halfords, did what it said, and for a week it was great, but the smell is back now, this is after changing panel filter, cabin filter and the can. So im afraid i would say if its stinky, you need a pro to do it
  3. im not too sure what you mean, on the trim there are 2 plastic squares that fit into 2 metal slots in the actual frame, but there dont seem to be any clips or anything to actually hold it in place?
  4. Ok, i was having a mess in the car the weekend, looking at cable routes for a handsfree mic. After looking around i decided i wanted to mount it by the drivers sun visor, so i pulled on the drvers side pillar a little to see if i could had cable behind it, and it popped off! Firstly i thought great, perfect cable route, but i cant get it back on, it doesnt clip in and now doesnt sit flush with the rest of the roof. ive pushed and banged n wiggled but it just wont clip in. Have i wrecked it?
  5. if you wouldnt mind that would be great. are you saying then that bar the the stereo nothing else actually needs to be removed? its just a case of feeding it through gaps etc?
  6. ok i like it where you have it that picture, Parthiban, rough step by step, how do i get from back of stereo to up there without cable showing anywhere>?
  7. and now what would the LOC discount be :)
  8. i read the instructions and it says, if you are listening to ipod then it auto cuts out to call, if your listening to normal cd or radio, when phone rings just press CD1 and it connects straight to phone, if it works like it says it should it could be a very impressive piece of kit, Come on Lex hurry the hell up lol
  9. after reading this i went to halfords and brought a air con cleaning aerosol, its was £11.99 and is worth every penny and more. just turn engine on, set air con to max and then set the bomb off and leave. my air con and car smells great now. Very impressed
  10. thats odd the as when you look at whats included in the major service, spark plugs are listed
  11. he he well done mate, make sure you let me know. these are the questions i have: Does the music streaming via bluetooth sound the same? Does it cut in and out or skip when loses connection? Where have you mounted mic? what is the clarity of the call, from both callers perspective? Is it the Dogs bo%%ocks? as im hoping it is? also post a pic of your climate control leds, i tried at least 4 different types and non of them were bright enoough. i ended up making a little circuit with lots of leds in there to keep it bright but there is so little room to play with it was very hard
  12. are you sure? i put my car model in and i think it went up by 5 or 10 pound but it definately had everything included This 24-month service covers all areas of essential maintenance. In addition to all the items included on the Full service we cover items that are regularly recommended for replacement every 2 years. This includes changing the brake hydraulic fluids, fuel system filters, and spark plugs etc. By having the Major service you make significant saving on the cost of purchasing these extra items separately. Unlike some garages we are keen to highlight where you may incur extra charges! So please note that there is a additional charge added in the Autocentre for platinum or long life spark plugs, and if your engine size is 2200cc or above it will require more oil, therefore an additional charge of £30 will be made. See our Service Schedules for more info
  13. very nice, what purchase did you like most, is or merc?
  14. hiya guys, just curious, when i got my first IS these boards were buzzing, used to spend all day on here. now though there seems to be very little activity, most of the really knowledgeable people seem to have gone and all the posters are new with summat like 1 or 2 post histories. Are an of the older members still here, just lurking in the background, or have you gone for good? If your still about, let me know what you been up too, still have your IS200, moved to IS250? or summat new completely??
  15. halfords auto centre charge £200 for a "major service" and there is nothing missed off, looks a bloody good service for the money. Think im booking in soon
  16. ignore me, 13903 is a good one, if you can get a replacement buy it and keep it
  17. 13903, thats a bottom loader io think isnt it? if its a bottom loader, get aftermarket one, there not very good, loads of issues with them over the years. or look on ebay, if you find one, ask seller for code, if its same then your all sorted.....till next time
  18. if you find a stereo on ebay it needs to be same model, 13901, 13902 etc etc or wont work. If you but aftermarket search ebay, there a lots of companyies that make the looms for the is200, only problem is its not easy finding a facia that looks nice, they are all cheap plastic and make your dash look cheap. people here have managed to pull it off but no easy task. Look at the front of your player, by the tape deck, what is the code? Also is the CD at top or bottom of the player
  19. hiya bill, i've asked this question too, i had a grom installed a few years ago and it was fantastic, back then they didnt have a bluetooth option, it seems to be relatively new, which is prob why all existing grom users here dont know about it. I really want to try it but would love some feedback first, if you decide to take the plunge first please leave me your feedback. As for cabling, my first grom, all cables ran behind stereo and under the gear gator, under the middle console and into the back compartment (by your elbow), no cables visable and i loved it. This time i have built a retractable iphone holder fitted under the heated seats plate, so when i install grom, cable will come from under there so still pretty much invisible and the mic i was gonna mount on the sunglasses holder tray (where the satnav is on the better models)
  20. I've used all brands and never had a problem, only time a disc wont work for me is if i burn it maximum speed, if i burn it x1 or x2, i never have an issue
  21. well it doesnt look like im gonna get a grom second hand so im gonna have to buy a new one! my question is that on the website now they have started selling a bluetooth adapter and mic to go with it. They claim that when installed, as soon as i get into the car with iphone in pocked, if i press the 'cd' button on my cd player, it will play my iphones music (as the old grom did), they also say that if my phone rings it will cut the ipod, and ring though speakers, when i press "track up" it will answer or "track down" to reject, and if i accept its a fully functioning car kit. Now to me this sounds the ultimate piece of kit for me, no wires, nothing poking out of anywhere but the capability of playing ipod and will look cool as buggery when my car is totally hands free. Anyone set this up yet
