  1. nice enough wheels, not my taste tho, think you should of brought a scooby lol
  2. yeh thats the only thing i'd like to scrap lol, bloody tape deck, could put it with the vinyl in the glove box lol
  3. you think the sound is better? what IS you got? on the SE its a premium system, wont get better unless you spend a lot. as for Aux in, get a grom audio adapter, and it play you ipod/iphone/mp3 through oem stereo using the oem controls, plus it has bluetooth streaming capability, plus bluetooth handsfree! Happy days lol
  4. cheers, saft question, how do i get to knowledge base?
  5. Hiya guys, I wanna lower my IS, not much say 30mm, but i have no clue where to start. So firstly, is there companys that do this and roughly how much, or is there a simply walkthrough i could use to DIY? Cheers Guys
  6. £200 for a full side?? ok out of curiosity, how much for a full repray, cash, mines black
  7. looks even better if you change the oem bulbs. like below, note the diplays are now green not orange.
  8. smart looking lex, did you de-badge it or was it already like it? how many miles? i can see the appeal for aftermarket stereos but to me it looks like a botched job, i think oem looks much better, i think it takes the class out the car when the centre console is messed with. you need some AC Stainless rings now to set it off
  9. Really want my Grom back, but dont wanna pay another £75 for it, anyone got one they are selling?
  10. i think i understand what you mean now? your saying see how much to get mrs to insure lex on her own, and then me insure banger, and if the 2 together are less than my as named on the lex im ££ in?? good idea, i'll see how much it cost for the mrs only on the lex.
  11. see the reason i originally thought this was because the other year i brought a car for the mrs, picked it up and drove it home, on way i stopped for petrol, whilst in the station a copper was outside running checks on all the cars, when he got to mine, there was no insurance, (i was going to insure when got home) so when i came out he told me and i explained i had just brought it and that is why, he shook his head and said tough, i should of insured it before picking it up. I happened to mention it was my partners car and i had my own, then he asked if i was fully comp, i said yes and he rand the station to do a check, when they said back, yes this bloke is fully comp on another policy, he said, oh thats ok then your insured, off you go! So whats the difference? nowhere in my policy does it say the lex needs to be insured? just that i need owners permission. its only a legal requirment to have the car taxed and mot'd. i cant see anywhere apart from opinions that its actually illegal? and to DaveEdin: i thought the same at first, but you have to remember, firstly you cannot own your ferarri someone else must. and 2nd if you crash you ferarri, your only 3rd party, so its not a great idea really. I'd be gutted if i crashed the lex but im prepared to take a 1 year gamble.
  12. ok guys, tell me what you think to this senario, i dont want judging, just advice. 4 years ago i lost licence for drinking (i know, bad lad) last 3 years insurance has been 2k but somehow come renewal time i have always had the money to pay, until this year! i havent got 2k and cant really afford £200 a month for insurance! (new baby and wedding to pay for) and i only have 1 more year to declare the conviction! oh and also the last few years, the car has been in my partners name and me as a named driver (and its still that much!!) soooo i though how about if my mrs cancels the insurance this year so my lex is taxed and mot'ed, but not insured, i then go and buy a £50 1.0 banger and insure it for £700 fully comp. the policy says i can drive any other car 3rd party with owners permission. see below: Use for social, domestic and pleasure purposes. EXCLUSIONS - The policy does not cover Use for commuting, any business purposes, any purpose in connection with the motor trade, carriage of passengers or goods for hire or reward, or for hiring, racing, competitions, rallies, trials, pace-making or speed testing. The policyholder may also drive a motor car not belonging to the policyholder and not hired to the policyholder under a hire-purchase agreement or leased to the policyholder under a leasing agreement, provided that; The policyholder has the owner's permission to do so; and the policyholder still has the vehicle identified above by its registration mark and it has not been damaged beyond economical repair nor been stolen and not recovered; and the motor car is registered within the UK; and the policyholder is not using the motor car outside of the UK; and the policyholder is not insured under any other insurance to drive the motor car. ok so i know if i crashed the lex, i would lose out completely but at least everyonew else wwould be covered and im willing to take the risk for a year! is this legal cus i cant see anything that says i cant do it??
  13. hiya, it does work, just thought i should do it as dont think its been done before, and after doing my partners stilo the results were impressive. yeh halfords sell EZ Chill, it has R134a on the label too. I did read an article that they were trying to stop it but for now they are still selling it and giving you a £10 refund if you take the used can in store for recycling,
  14. Hi All, i have just regassed my partners Aircon using the halford EZ Chill stuff, very impressd with the ease and end result. My question is, where is the refill valve on a IS200? anyone know?
  15. it is fully comp but doesnt include windscreen replacement, its a value insurance :( my rear view is attached to roof. If they gave me a window without the heating elements is that a big problem?
  16. we dont have heated screens do we? at least i didnt think i did? i have 2001 SE
  17. hey guys, woke up this morning, defrosted front windscreen to see a big dirty crack down the front! Unfortunately im not covered for such an event so i went windscreen shopping! AutoGlass £510!!! YEAH RIGHT! The screensaver.com £250, bit more my language, but then... National Mobile Windscreens £148! FITTED! Obviously im loving that price, but has anyone used them? any advice at all?? Thanks in advance guys
  18. is this still around? i cant find it anywhere? i waxed the car t'other day and now the black rubber about the sunroof is stained white, whats the best stuff to use to make it black again?
  19. Hiya Guys, 2 things, 1) whilst hoovering my car atr the garage i ran the hoover over the dash and it sucked my bloody cig lighter up!! does anybody have a spare that i could buy off them? 2) they guy that had the car before me took of the silver IS200 and LEXUS badges on the boot, they have left slight marks and to be fair i prefer it with them on, anyone know where i can get them from and the best way to reattach? or does anyone do this? Thanks in advance
  20. how much roughly does it cost for a full respray?
  21. fitting is a doddle mate, you dont need instructions
  22. he's probably asking cus he doesnt know standard prices and doesnt want to pay over the odds! I think the grilles are about the right price mate but with spoiler, for £30 i would imagine your looking at a bootlip spoiler, very small and yes they are just taped on. The proper spoilers are quite expensive, i paid £90 for mine from a salvage guy of ebay and it was in a bad state.
  23. i got a set of 4 se allows going if anyones interested. im not overly fussed about selling them but would let them go for £200
