  1. My 301BHP turbo IS200 does 22MPG on average and 28 if driven like an old lady changing gear at 3000rpm and not using the turbo past .4bar. Just had a RR session and its lambda 1 all the way up to 4000rpm!!!! with no cats.
  2. Mr Mole was banned just for asking not to be a gold member...............
  3. probably get a ban if I name names...............
  4. If the car has been empty for a prolonged period of time then the gauge can "stick" or look wrong. Try topping the tank right up - that solved my sticky gauge when I 1st got the car. My fuel gauge works 100% perfect with a stand along ECU - its only people who go to garages who don't take the time to learn how the car works and rush jobs that mess up the fuel gauge problem. It basicly counts every time injector 1 fires and under what load, this is then used to calculate fuel used and adjusts the gauge accordingly. Every 1/4 tank or every time you turn the car on it double checks with the sender in the tank and adjusts accordingly. This system eliminates false fuel level readings.
  5. Try a company called http://www.archenemy.co.uk/
  6. If it has sat nav then yes all you need as far as I can tell is the CD or DVD, if it doesn't have sat nav and your thinking of retro fitting then no don't bother!!!
  7. I gave our Porsche back and they mentioned a slight tear on the roof - but didn't ever get a repair bill for it. It is all down to the finance company not Lexus to decide what they think is fair, a few stone chips isn't much for a a car with 50K on its clock IMHO. Make sure you follow the person who collects it round as he/she will inspect the car to ascertain its condition, anything they miss they can't then claim for at a later date. Just because they mark down a chip here or there doesn't mean they will charge for it either, it is down to overall condition. If the car is so dirty they can't see the paint then they will have cause to claim later though, I gave the last car back with 1 weeks road dirt on it so the worst chips were slightly disguised. The car will go to an auction house 9 times out of 10 and be sold on very quickly, it doesn't physically go back to your dealer or to the finance company.
  8. If you have good fronts then you don't need the rears. By removing the rears you will allow far more Bass through to the cabin area as a bonus. Try it and decide for yourself.
  9. OK 1st remove the ski hatch, then remove the 6*9's and hey presto killer bass. Simple. Sealed boxed are for a more accurate bass tone, where as ported/bandpass are for SPL. My 12" singe 400RMS Diamond audio sub is in a 2CuFt box and is extremely loud - the bass can move the rear view mirror on 3/4 volume so plenty for the average person. If you want to see a killer install then contact REDZ his is so much more than Patrick's install it is simply amazing.
  10. As for not filling up more than 80% the tank itself will stop the filler when the safe pressure is reached, I always filled up until the filler cut off - like petrol. The fuel gauges are notoriously unreliable your better off keeping track of haw many miles you get out of a tank rather than watching the gauge!! Good luck with it, don't forget you can't take it through the Channel Tunnel now!!
  11. Why? The short ratio gearbox keeps the turbo spinning nicely there is no need to add a supercharger to a well set up turbo car (unless your German and want to be clever)
  12. Check the horns are securely connected as they earth through the body of the horn, if they have worked loose they won't work properly.
  13. It needs to be on a lift to check the oil - just ask a local place they won't charge much.
  14. Retrospective tax increases are illegal. The Gov. cant hike up the payments like you guys are saying, they tried that a while ago and the EU court blocked the move. They will just add more duty to fuel...............
  15. Sounds like your thermostat - as already been said. The fans on the IS200 come on when the coolant gets to 80C, so if your rad is cold when the fans cut in there may be something else wrong.
  16. Why the 3sGE? its not that good, just put a 3SGTE like mine in, fits with ease and you get turbo fun. The Down pipe for the exhaust on both engines is in exactly the wrong place for a LHD car so thats the 1st issue, next is electrics although if you go for a 3SGE I assume an Altezza ECU would sort out 80% of the issues?? You will need an Altezza gearbox bell-housing as it is different to the IS200's and alter your prop-shaft. won't be an easy conversion but possible.
  17. There have been a couple of TTE Compressor IS200 cars for sale for around the 3K mark over the last year or so - so this is a huge price to pay.
  18. The claim that a performance increase is also suspect - when the best manufacturers of performance exhausts can only squeeze 2 to 5 BHP more and the likes of Janspeed have been proven to loose you power (I had one and you loose 2BHP with one fitted) Powerflow have also in the past (on other cars) lost their owners BHP- I would like to see proof that this system gains performance.
  19. Many people with 19's and lowered suspension have had to roll the arches.
  20. The Subaru Legacy is a fantastic car and very very underrated. The main problem with them is depreciation, apart from that so long as you service it it won't go wrong. They are basically an Impreza with a grown up body shell.
  21. Just follow the instructions Stav and Rob have given you. Its easy to type in ebay "is200 amp bypass"................
  22. well I have just got back from 4 days in the mountains of Bulgaria, I hired a BMW 5 series, with winter tyres fitted as it is winter!! the car drove perfectly, never slipped, skidded etc that you associate with RWD cars in snow, I am 100% converted to winter tyres now, you have to try them to see, well worth the investment if you want to avoid a crash. The snow was 2 to 3 feed deep in places so the shovel supplied with the car came in handy!! Out there every shop was open, taxis were operating as normal it is only the UK that suffers greatly in this weather because we are not educated properly about tyres etc.
  23. There was talk about a Lexus supermini towards the end of last year.
  24. that would be a real shame..........
