  1. Thanks this helps, I think I will just find a 17" spare. Things in cans do worry me, I don't think playing with tyre safety is clever, afterall they are the only thing that keeps you in contact with the road.
  2. Well I'm 34, and apparently I need a flat cap and a Labrador dog now I drive the Lexus......... I am also very heavily tattooed and pierced and flat cap just don't do it for me, its not a vectra you know!!! I wouldn't mind but the person saying this drove an Escort XR3i vert............
  3. My new IS200 has 18" alloys and no spare wheel, the previous owner must have misplaced it or ordered 4 as 5 would be an extravagance So I was looking on fleabay for an appropriate wheel to have as a spare, I am assuming the boys in blue would stamp their feet and ask me to choose some points if I was to have a 17" (and use it), so finding 1 wheel was the best option. or is it???? Has any one come across this item, it looks like miracle in a can, or is it just another fleabay rip off like electric superchargers??? Item No: 380062372012 Phil.
  4. £50 refund with tesco, from the group 17 saab aero with 6 months to run on the policy!! Everything on the Lexus is cheaper than the saab, except the quality :D that is miles ahead. The wife has a Porsche Boxter and pays £480 comp with Elephant.co.uk protected N/C for life, so they will get a shout next year.
  5. If there is an icon where the picture should be, right click it and select the view picture option. This workes for me sometimes, but it does depend on your companys security settings.
  6. OOPs bit misleading yea £4800 + 1 knackered saab aero (blown auto g-box, no 1st gear so constant snow mode needed to stop the car using 1st, thank the lord dealers don't test drive cars going to the auctions), but I only got peanuts for it (1000). Slapped wrist time...... so 6K all in still looks like a bargain even though 90K on the clock. I had the saab for so many years the value was largely irrelevant. I thought the alloys were standard as i say I went in for a celica and went out with an IS200, having never looked at a Lexus before!!, it has Sport on the front grill, I now assume that is an aftermarket grill from the sport model.
  7. Yes a SS exhaust will add BHP, but more importantly throttle response and noise. Go for a good branded one. Theres a sticky on the top of this page. If you want the most power I would assume the IS200 is like most cars, change the manifold, get rid of the pre-cats and put in a single sport cat. I am sure someone with more experiance will correct me though. K&N air filter also. You will need to tell your insurance about these mods though.
  8. So a supercharger it may be, I think I will wait a while, need to see if I really like the car enough to spend 2K on mods.
  9. Thanks all ^_^ Radio will come out when the HIDs go in, there is so much room under the bonnet I bet a Supra turbo engine would fit
  10. Thanks for the replys, Hmmmmmmm supercharger..................bet that would cost more than I paid for the car!! The thing I have noticed is this forum does not have loads of posts about "what goes wrong" good to see that, means it should be reliable. Although the miles are a little high (95000) it does have full Lexus SH. One thing that is bugging me is there is a hands free kit with phone cradle and I can't work out how the radio comes out so I can remove the cradle which spoils the interior? Any help would be great!!
  11. Every car I have ever owned gets a K&N or Green filter, and a stainless exhaust when the one on the car dies. Powerflow did my last car with a 15hp gain on the rollers and a choice of noise from the back box. Just habbit of mine, but the differance is there and the extra noise is great!!
  12. Hi new here, I went to buy a Celica last week as a replacement for my Saab Aero HOT (that was getting a bit unreliable), drove it, hated it and the dealer suggested the IS200, well I have never looked at the brand before so nothing to loose by looking. £4800 later here she is 2005 IS200 SE: Apart from being soooooo slow (anything compared to an Aero HOT (250HP) is slow!!! No mods yet, but HIDS at the weekend, I can't believe they don't have them to start with. The fuel saving is such a bonus, Saab only got 15-18MPG and 10mpg if you really opened the turbo..................
