  1. I used to work for a Tyre and zorst shop, Toyo's are the Dog's. Currently running 4 Toyo T1-R. They have changed the outer edge's of the tyre to over come un-even wear. Even the wife has commented on them. Also i was ready for changing front wheel bearings until i put these tyre's on, all noises just dissapeared. And the traction control works alot better.
  2. Let me speak from experience. Just had mine sorted, I have been told that Mobile Phone mast's, power mast's etc etc etc will cause this. Mine has done this twice now. Both times i was no where near anything like that. About a day before it failed on both occasion's it was hit and miss with the remote keys then the next day failed completely. The ECU just looses the codes for the remote key's. First time it cost me £50, When i complained to Lexus GB it was sorted for free (as it should be). I never got to try this. Just follow the link and see what happens... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...t=0entry97187 Good Luck Mate...
  3. LOL, Only i can pick em... Any way, i took it in before i tried the procedure, Just to see if there were any error on the ECU but it come back clear, Any how they fixed it free of charge and said if it happens again to bring it straight back in.... Thanks for all the help guy's
  4. Thank you very much mate... Does sound very funny but i will definately let you guy's know how i get on. BTW Lexus GB called me back and have informed me that Lexus in Bolton want my car to fully go through it and find the cause, However they are still not saying how much it will cost me. I will try this procedure first.
  5. 134,000 miles, Got the car Dec 21st 2002 with around 92,000 miles on it. Only thing that has given me problems is the ECU has lost my codes for the Keyfob's. Other than that she still starts every time doesn't blow smoke and still burn off boy racer's at the lights.
  6. If i was told i need a new ECU, Do you think it would be alot cheaper to get an ECU from a Jap breakers and take it to (lets say Camco88) and them chip it and set it up for my car? Or am i asking for trouble?
  7. Hi guy's.... Last year 07/11/03 i had to take my T reg IS200 into Lexus Bolton because my key fobs would no longer unlock the door's. I tried new batteries but still failed to work. I phoned Lexus who said the ECU can just loose the codes for no reason. I was told that it would cost me 40 quid plus VAT to sort it, I was also told if it couldn't be sorted it would cost £1000 + VAT for new ECU. Anyway 13 months later it has done it again phoned Lexus to ask why it has done it a second time and i was told they believe all the mobile phone and electrical towers around the Trafford Center can cause this, (pretty strange as i live about 40 miles away.). Anyway i just wanted to know has anyone else come across this fault as i dont fancy spending around 50 quid every year just so i can unlock the doors from my Fobs..... Cheers Guy's.....
  8. I have just gone over 105000 Miles... Still sounds crisp and the wife still enjoys killing Saxo VTR's off the Road... :D But dont we all
  9. I would just like to say my IS200 T Reg is now on 105000 miles and is still running very sweet, Lexus in Warrington wanted £180 for the 100000 service and £336 for the Timing Belt, An hour before the service i read the service book and found out that all they really did for 180 notes is Change Brake Fluid, Change Diff Oil, Change Engine Oil and Filter and replace A/C Filter In Dash, It was at that point i cancelled my appointment and bought all service parts myself and did the full service at the Garage i used to work at which took about an hour in total, The garage next door is doing the Cam belt and all the other belts for 45 quid plus parts... It has not worried me that Lexus didn't service the car, I think the car lost alot of value the day it reached 100000 miles... I guess the point to my little story is "If you are going to keep the car for Quite a Few Years it's not going to matter that much about sale value" After all look at the way New and Used cars are dropping in Price...
