  1. I think you'll find the CVT doesn't. It's a similar design to the "power splitter" on the Prius. You effectively have a sun/moon/planet arrangement with the electric motor on one shaft, then engine on another and the wheels on another. Very efficient - blends any combination of engine and motor power. There's a rather heavy explanation of the Prius power splitter/CVT here. The Lexus version can't be much different in concept. Malc
  2. You do it from the Sat Nav menu. Press the MENU button on the left of the console. Can't remember the exact sequence from there but it's easy to deduce. If you're still stuck I'll get off my backside and go refresh my memory in mine :) You can find out information like version number and coverage also. Malc
  3. I got my small Tag F1 off ebay used for around £50 about 8 years ago. Worked fine but looked a bit tatty. Sent it to Tag for a full service. Got a new glass, bezel and battery. Going from memory I think that was around £60. Not sure if you can get such a full service at a decent price now. It's still running btw! Another option is, wait for it, Tesco clubcard vouchers. Goldsmiths sell Tag and take clubcard vouchers at 4 x face value. Admitedy you'd need a lot of them but worth knowing. Malc
  4. Not sure. Chap I spoke to reckons that Mini told him that it worked by comparing the rpm of each wheel and if one was out of kilter compared to the others then the pressure must have varied. Sounds very plausible to me. That way, any variation due to wear or temperature would be taken into account. BTW, still not found the reset button!!!!! Malc
  5. That is from a dealer (Lexus Norwich) But good advice all the same, have a look at the preowned cars on the Lexus site, and try to find any that are cheaper or better in any way and use that to haggle the price down if you definitely want this one. To be fair, if you're not desperate, I'd go in, show interest in buying and say you'll pay £13k. If they don't accept, walk out and they'll probably call you back in a few days time to try and do the deal - worth a shot :) Coming up to month end. They need to meet their targets.....bluff it out. Malc
  6. Sounds expensive to me. Take a look at www.lexus.co.uk and search the pre-owned section. Better deals on there. Malc
  7. The nice lady (Faye) from Lexus Derby happened to call me today so I asked how much the seat fix would be out of warranty and she reckoned about £150 to fix both front seats. Apparently they did both of mine and I hadn't realised. Malc
  8. The manual shows a button to select one of two sets of tyres to monitor for pressure. I've found that in the roof of the passenger foot well of all places. Now the book says there should be a pressure set button and shows it next to the steering column on a LHD car. Can I find it on a RHD car? NO! There is a mysterious hole next to the selector switch in the passenger foot well which looks like it may be designed to hold a switch. Anyone else got an 06 GS450h and have they found the mystery pressure set button? Malc
