  1. I found that pressing the ignition button, once, and then twice, and then a third time with the foot on the brake resulted in no 'unheathly noise'.
  2. Thanks for your suggestions. The headlight washer went back into it's housing after spending a few hours in the garage.
  3. Hi, Can anyone help me? I've just driven back on a frosty morning, -5c, and during the journey I used my headlight washers. When I got home I found that the driver side washer was extended and had not returned to it's housing. Any suggestions? Alan.
  4. Hi, Any ideas? When starting the car this week, the engine revved on ignition, but made an 'unhealthy' noise. I can only compare this to my memory of a diesel being heavily revved when cold. After a brief moment it idles as normal. It's only happened twice this week - but it all came after flicking the gearbox into reverse immediately after ignition. It's a 3 year old GS300. Regards, Alan.
  5. Hi Tony, I had the same problem - and fixed it. To fix the problem, you have to hold down one of the four buttons and let the moon roof complete a cycle through opening, closing, tilting up, tilting down. Once it has completed a full cycle it will reset itself to the operation stated in the manual. I had the same problem after picking up my car last week. After speaking with my salesman, he told me the above - and it worked. My moonroof now works brilliantly. The sales man told me that when the car gets it's pre-delivery check items such as these are checked. What can happen during the life of the car, is that the battery may have been disconnected and the moon roof looses it memory, and needs to be reset. If the button pressing does not work, my sales man suggested quickly nipping back to the dealership, and they would do it for me. I hope this helps. Alan.
  6. I got 14% off, with 2 years free servicing, 6 months car tax, and a cuddly toy. Lexus Reading did a brilliant job of getting the bodywork into top shape - every little imperfection I pointed out was sorted. It looks brand new. It's a real joy to drive, and makes the journey too and from work a real pleasure - don't mind the traffic jams at all now.
  7. I just told them that that was the deal I wanted and if they could agree to do it I would agree to buy it. I think there's a lot of dealers with a lot of stock who aren't selling much/anything at the moment and most will consider a deal, if you convince them that you are serious and prepared to do a quick deal. Also bear in mind that this was back in August when the credit crunch was only just starting to be talked about, I reckon you could get an even better deal in today's market. Good luck. It's a done deal - picked up the car on the weekend - thanks for the tips - it's a great car, and great service from Roger at Reading and his team for getting the car in great shape.
  8. Wow - a difference of 14% between the dealer's asking price and what you paid, plus 2 years extended warranty and servicing. How did you go about the negotiation?
  9. Hi, Can anyone provide me some advice? I've been looking at a 2005 GS 300 SL-L (June 2005), with 71,000 miles on the clock, from Lexus Approved and have a few questions. 1. The dealer has told me the car does not have a cambelt but a chain. The car has 71,000 miles on the clock, does anyone know the life span of the chain? 2. Any advice on haggling the price? The dealer says there is movement on the price - but then isn't there always. What top tips are there on this motor asking £13,900? Really appreciate any feedback. Regards, Alan.
