  1. Finally got the chance to test drive an IS300 this weekend! Well... looks like i'm definately gonna be getting one.... just got find one i like Was well impressed with the smoothness of engine and gearbox, although i'd agree the gear changes can be abit slow. However you never get the chance to properly thrash it in a test drive. Cheers again for all your advice guys.
  2. Hey Guys! Thanks for all the responses.. well i'm off tomoz to test drive a couple i found on Auto-trader and i'll let you know how it goes. i'm gonna be taking my sweet time with this, as i'm reluctant to get rid of my IS200, but if i find a good 300... i'll get it. Cheers again for the advice it was very helpful and rather persuasive towards the 300. haha Cheers David
  3. Now i love my IS200, finally got it to a state i'm happy with B) However i would like some more power and getting a Supercharger appears to be an expensive option. If not like a game of luck, when trying to get hold of one. Therefore i'm wondering is it worth "upgrading" to a IS300??? The additions of Cruise control and an Armrest are also quite inviting. However i'm not a fan of Auto boxes, is the IS300 auto box good?? Does the "paddleshift" work well?? Any advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated! Also any good additional features to look out for on a IS300! Cheers
  4. Hey Guys, Very interested in doing this mod... however i'm slightly worried about what would happen if you turn on your fog lights for normal use in the Fog... therefore at the fog lights are at their full brightness... then you brake... wouldn't the extra current supplied by the brake feed along with the high current required for the standard fog light, blow the bulbs?? For example.... say my car was modded with the fogs to come on for 3 things like you suggest... Normal fog light use When the rear lights are on Under braking If its night you have the rear lights, you brake the fogs two stage filament is at its brightest... surely if you then hit fog and turn on your fog lights the bulbs are just not going to cope?? Surely?? If i'm way off please do explain... Cheers
  5. I believe that is the traction control indicator, i assume you may have also heard a strange electrical clicking or buzzing noise while this light was on??
  6. To make things a tad easier you can undo all four plastic screws that hold the grille and top of the front bumper to the body, 2 screws near each headlight. As you can then pull the top middle section of the bumper (the area around the grill itself) away and give your hands more room to get those 3 clips off... they can be quite stiff... Here is a link to a diagram of the front bumper... pictures are always better than words... Bumper Linky
  7. Hey Rez89, Very nice looking car you got there, I like the body kit :winky: Painted calipers are a really good place to start, its a nice simple job but really effective.... i painted mine using a guide off here <clicky> Heres a link to my post on painting the calipers... Linky Its all down to personal preference, with mods... Exhaust: I got a Blue Flame exhaust, its not too noisy wen the car is idling and bimbling about but makes one hell of a roar if you boot it... Air intake: Either a high flow panel filter, K&N do good ones (cheaper option) or induction kit, the odd one does appear on this forum in the sale section. ARBs: anti-roll bars are next on my list but are quite expensive at about £400 for a good pair... You can get your alloys refurbished... before i bought mine the alloys were in a proper nasty state, but the garage got them refurbed before i bought it and they look cracking!... no scratches, scraps or corrosion.... just like brand new... mind you i'm not sure how much that will cost... might be worth looking into as you can change the colour of your alloys if you so wish when they do it... Hope this helps, good luck and enjoy.... FiZiX
  8. Afternoon, Does anyone have the Sports Badge off a sports grill?? I just want the badge... but willing to buy the whole unit if its a good price... I have put a post in the Wanted section too. Cheers

  10. Good evening ladies and Gents, I've recently got my hands on a brand spank new TTE front bumper, and was waiting for some nice weather to fit... this happened this week The bumper was an absolute bugger to fit but I managed to do it! And i'm well chuffed with the final result... :D However i do have a couple of questions... i'd like to know if anyone who fitted their own TTE front bumper experiened any issues when fitting it :duh: The instruction that came with the bumper were as vague as a politician, so i think i've fitted it right... the only thing i'm unsure about is the two short spar located a the base of front wheel arches and where they bolt on... i had to force them forward and attach them to the first bolt holding the front mud guard... is this correct???? The second and final thing, the old bumper held the front of the engine belly plate (undershield) in place but the new TTE bumper doesn't have any fixing points. Are there any work rounds to affix the undershield to the new TTE Bumper... as my engine belly plate tried to come off while i was driving down a dual carriageway... not a pleasant experince... Cheers
  11. Greetings LOC forum goers.. long time no see! Finally the sun is out so i now have no excuse not clean the inside of my car... i think it needs it.. While hunting around looking for leather and suede cleaning products, i found several interesting articles... First an Autoexpress review on leather cleaning products... Linky Second was on the type of material lexus use on the door panels, apparently its not actually suede... however not sure of the how accurate this site is but please do make up your own mind... Second Linky It doesn't state if the same Ecsaine material is used on the seat panels aswell, still looking into that one... Hope this answers some peoples questions FiZiX
  12. Wow, thats awesome... you were alot braver than me with ordering stuff from the states... who was the seller of ARBs?? You've got me interested in getting a set from the states..
  13. Kool, please let us know how it goes... how much was delivery?? One of the things that put me off US import was that you had to inform customs that package was en-route with all its shipping details, all sounded like a lot of work to me... Hope it does work out cheaper, i'm finally getting back in range to start looking round for a set of ARBs...
  14. I second that! :winky: Very "tasty" sounding exhaust... not too noisy on long motorway drives..
  15. Alamkhan3980 After a massive search for ARBs, looking at UK companies (eg TDi) and even researching importing stuff from the USA (which is extremely expensive, with shipping and custom charges). I found that C-One ARBs from ProLex were the best priced option.... i was going to buy these but unfortunately my priorities have changed... I hope this helps your decision mate...
  16. Cheers for the thoughts guys... will check the calipers and wheel balancing out... Hmmm that had crossed my mind but they weren't cheap discs, and not really done that much harsh braking... quite a chilled driver. It'll be proper irritating if it is warped discs, takes so long to replace them and their not cheap... cheers for the heads up.
  17. Cheers for the advice, Hmmm... checked calipers when i was changing my brakes and they seemed fine... i'll check them again and let you know.. Yeah Steve, only happens when i'm braking... its smooth as when accelarting and cruising... abit odd
  18. Hey guys, Replaced my brakes about 2500 miles ago and recently when driving along the motorway and i brake moderately to heavy... the steering wheel vibrates alittle around 80mph getting worse as it hits 60Mph, then drops off and totally stops vibrating when the speed drops to 50Mph... Was wondering what on earth is causing it... was wondering if i needed the tracking done. Any info would be awesome cheers
  19. The number doesn't work Gord....
  20. Mate, i'm very interested already PM'd you... Cheers
  21. Hey Guys, I take it everyone has noticed this because you've had your windows down enjoying a good drive in the sun!! :D I too have the same knocking noise, not sure where its coming from, sounds like your running over a man hole cover, when you hit a sharp pot hole, doesn't happen on the smoother bumps. I have wondered if it was the pads and will be removing my wheel to check, also gonna have a look at my slide pins, the noise could be down to the capiler it self moving.. especially when you change direction (forward - reverse)... Gonna put it on a friends ramp and have a good look will let you know how it goes...
