  1. I live just south of brum, about 40 mins away. could do it. Mines a champagne 93, scratches aren't noticeable. What are the start finishing times on the 26th
  2. Back to square one again - the noise is back with the vengeance....help!!!!!
  3. the copper grease was used and since yesterday, 3M cushion pads were fitted between the pads and the housing which has made a significant reduction in noise although not totally. The disks are only 2 months old. I am told that the noise comes from the pads vibrating on the disks when pressure is applied. By adding the cushion pads, this should eradicate the problem. However, as it is still there albeit not as loud as before, what else can I do?
  4. my mk2 93 has developed sqeaky brakes again. This is the second set of pads i have had since I bought the car in April of this year. The pads have all worn evenly, but the problem is still there. could it be the calipers touching the discs?
  5. I have got around the car locking by itself problem by installing an alarm and immobiliser in the car which unlocks/lock/arm/disarms the car. If I go back to using the button on the lexus key then the car will do the old trick. I have also found that as the alarm/immoilizer is connected to the footwell light, when one tries to open the armed and locked drivers door, the alarm goes off. I was impressed. However, this does not settle the problem We are facing with the boot mechanism vis-a-vis engine on/off. Will speak to an electrical engineer I know to see if he can get around the circuitry and make this baby pop.
  6. Wonder if you chaps can help here? I have a MkII '93, so far so good - rides beautifully and handles quite well (even my S-class pal thought the ride was better than his). When the engine is running and the vehicle is stationary, I find that I cannot open the boot from inside the car. The only way I can open it is to switch off the engine then pull the boot release. Is it just my car or does all the early models do this?
  7. don't forget the possibility of ruining a very good ride and the cost of trial and error
  8. I had new pads and disks replaced a couple pf months ago. After 2K, the sqeaking has come back. Have also heard other 400s do the same aswell. Anyone else with a circa 93/94 with the same problem?
  9. I have never used the parking brake on my Mk2 '93 LS400. Only had it 2 months. My drive is sloped. Should I really use the parking break, or just carry on as usual and leave the girl in "P"?????
