  1. I asked about these cars when I called into Lexus Newcastle this morning - apparently they are all sold already. Some dealerships may be struggling but apparently Newcastle is doing ok and hasn't been much affected by the downturn. I was in tunbridge wells earlier this week and they informed they were practicall running out of stock...sales pitch?
  2. Blimey. read this post for the first time today and I get the impression it's not one problem you have but a set of different problems. i would not wish to swap these problems. the new/used car issue seems to be a bone of contention and there seems to be a fine line between brand new and new with the delivery mileage. are these cars sold only in order to increase sales on pre-registered cars? . smart sales has got a lot to answer for and TBH you must have been happy with what you paid for your car or you would not of bought it, if the sales people lied to you then that of course is a different story. regarding the diff that was alledgly recovered off of a write off can I ask (ignorance sorry) it does seem an ususal part that needs replacing and how anyone can know it came off a written off model beggars belief. I work with some awful people (dont we all?) whose opinions I dont value but they get them aired and i have to re-address them but I dont want to go off topic. There is a question of morals and under no circumstances would I willingly buy a part from a car that was involved in a serious injury in a write off or any part given a choice - no high impact does any car any favours. many years ago I worked in a breakers yard and never did we get a visit from a main dealer for a part, the damage would be irreversible to their reputation and no main dealer would take the risk, generally speaking a write off is sold to those that will buy it and that's not a main dealer. obviously your entitled to a premium service and it does seem awafully compicated but fighting two battles at once wont solve anything fast. good luck in resolving the issue. many thanks for the big welcome. I'm looking at some IS200 models about the 10k price which will get a 05 model quite comfortably with some change in my pocket, I need to get the model which gets me to Germany comfortably the few times a year I go with out thinking I should of considered a newer/more powerful model and this fits the bill. Thanks again. May,

hi all, need to pick your brains, you guys know Lexus's a lot better than I ever will so I have to ask is an IS 200 the right car for me? generally speaking my mileage in the uk is very low my current car has done approximately 38000 miles in 6 years, however, my personal circumstances have changed drastically recently and I will need to travel to Germany 3-4 times over a year 400 miles (ish) door-to-door. I have no desires to test the Autobahn to the limits - though I have been over 240kph (150mph ish) in a new BMW I was not driving though I did nearly faint, so due to my erratic low mileage and high spike mileage is this car right for me? I really dont want a BMW or a Mercedes their cars are great but I know enough people who have these cars and I just dont want to go into comparing exercise. Additionally I really dont want to add improvements (not my style) I need a car which looks great (I believe the IS200 fits this roll perfectly) offers realibilty and makes a statement without having to say anything. I dont believe a diesel model will offer me the mileage/higher purchase saving unless I was continuously do high mileage. predicamnet number 1. predicament number 2. using only the official lexus website the prices vary a lot for very similar cars, I appreciate it may be a buyers market and although finance is available, finance interest rates dont reflect the bank cost, so if I went to a dealer how far could I push my luck? I've been reading the forum (so jealous of the guy with the 4xx - posted the youtube videos) a lot and have been trying to find a similar post this one in order to prevent your forum been filled with similar posts. thanks for reading this far and any advice is most welcome.
