  1. I'm probably missing something, but surely that's no good because then the lights are just either on or off ? He needs one cluster to light up with the tail lights, and the second cluster to light up with the brake lights, presumably. Which you should be able to do but you'd have to dismantle the wiring at the car end too, to wire in the tail lights and brake lights separately. I wonder if US cars had different rear lights, accounting for this different wiring ? What year is the car ? I will take a look tomorrow for the missing light connection BUT on the old light, there is only THREE connection points??? Strange! Maybe with the later models there were four? Oh! the car is a 2000 model Steve
  2. I don't have the time tonight Stav, going for a gym induction in 20 minutes (how boring). Will do tomorrow though. My main concern is hooking up both banks of LED clusters to the one connector for the lights/brakes. I would not want a single cluster only lit up.
  3. Welcome along mate. Sounds to me like you need to wait a while for a good example to turn up. Norlec (a member on here) is selling a cracking example of a sport I believe. PM him.
  4. Is there anyone that might be able to help me out with hooking these up on my car? The guy from the US (whom I purchased from) has said he would offer a full refund, good on him, but, I would really like to see them on the car, and obviously if they were played around with, I could not send them back for a refund. Anyone?
  5. Thanks Stav. Yea, it's a funny one! In the first picture - the brown connector is the light/brake light and the two grey are - one for indicator and - one for reverse In the second picture There are two male ends (in grey), somehow, I need to plug these both into the brown female (no giggling please :-))?????????? It is............impossible!
  6. Guy's - Pictures Below Got my new LED rear lights from the US. Guess what, even though they are supposed to be 'plug and play' they are not. In standard Euro form, the wiring loom for the rear lights has (i) one connector for the Brake light / Rear light (ii) one connector for the indicator (iii) one connector for the reverse light Now, the new LED, super duper, awesome, lights from the States has the following: (i) one connector for one bank of LED's - inner (ii) one connector for the other bank of LEDS - outer (iii) space for the indicator connector (iv) space for the reverse light SO, I plugged in the standard wiring to one of the LED banks (outer) and plugged in the indicator and reverse connectors. Reverse light, indicator worked OK, but there was NO rear light or brake light AND obviously, I cannot connect both banks as there is only one standard brake/rear light connector. Any suggestions would be really appreciated - before I get onto this guy in the states who has supplied goods unfit for UK use (even though they are advertised on UK eBay!) 7. Having previously had and resolved this problem ..... my advice to look at the other sensor is sound and worth a try
  8. If I were you I would remove and clean the other abs sensor. See if that removes the fault code. You also don't say whether the abs light is on, we assume it is. Try removing / cleaning the other! Phil
  9. Oh no! The bible states "when the crow pecketh the car and scratcheth the shiny paintwork, the beast will be sure to follow" Repent, repent. just what can this mean?
  10. Sorry about this but it's a new one on me. Hopefully someone will have the answers for you. Are you sure it's not the sun woofer bouncing around? Might even be the rear shockers? Phil
  11. Tigerfish has covered it. The only problems I have had with my Mk2 sport is the front discs, one warped, then the new set bought, had one warped (buy from a rep dealer) and the second set seem fine. Had the sticky caliper pins and one seized caliper (sticky pins equals clunking when coming to a stop and possible wheel wobble). As for the ball joints/wishbones, it is the high milers that will suffer (115,000 miles plus) though this is not gospel. Apart from this, great engines, great gearboxes, lovely well made interiors, sweet ride. There are examples going on eBay with 200,000 miles plus. Buying one with the faults mentioned ain't so bad, once it is fixed you're away. Just identify the fault and drop the price offered accordingly. It is also reassuring to get one with full Lexus history, the service guy's are very thorough. The stereo display is a problem, had mine fixed, now it is back again! Sport = stiffer ride, nicer looks and a bit more kit (big alloys, spoiler, etc.) SE = comfy ride and most likely the Nav. Do it, you wont regret it, just buy wisely as your post suggests you will.
  12. Cor blimey! I like that alot. I had a 55 reg Accord 2.4 Sport (Estate), the 2.4 engine in that was sweet enough, but I only enjoyed it in the VTEC range. As for the S2000, it's the car of many people's dreams, I'd love one, and that one is superb Anees. What do they run 240bhp?
  13. Looks like you have a sport there sport! I had the flat TTE alloys - like yours - on my Mk1. The dish 10" were a factory option. Not standard. Phil
  14. What is the mileage on it and if you don't mind, what 'ballpark' figure are we looking at here? £3-4K? Also, does this one have the four wheel steer or is that the R34?
  15. For the Mk2 you will have: 18" wheels (TTE) Two colours on the leather steering wheel Sport etched into the rear window (quarter light) Low front bumper (lip) Spoiler with LED light on boot Possibly mats that say "GS300 Sport' on them Is this enough?
  16. I love it, great looking car, like the R34 better though - only joking PS - How many scoobies you got parked up there?
  17. Well spotted that man! Think I'll take the risk on this one, I am definitely not going to start sticking red reflectors on the back of my car. It's parked up off the road at night, so, think I'll run the risk on this one Tigerfish. Good point though, I certainly would not have thought of that.
  18. Cheers Anees. I will be looking to get either a 430 or an Aristo at the end of the year. What are things to look for (for the Aristo)? Any weak areas on the engine, what was the reason you decided to lose yours? If you don't mind me asking? Mr2lad, nice! Phil
  19. Thanks for the comments guy's, silver indicator bulbs it is then, as for what they actually look like, the proof will be in the pudding (umm fitting!)! I'll post when done :)
  20. They are for people who do not own a lexus but do aspire to own one, people like this can be summarised to be Lex Lis.
  21. They're nice mate, would of been nice to see a full on side shot of them. :D
