  1. I’m guessing the massive discounts are because Lexus just can’t shift them. The media have not been kind to the RZ. I’m a Lexus fan and don’t normally listen to these type of reviews, but looking at the feed back on here and trying one for a day recently, I’m afraid it’s just not a competitive proposition, compared to the competition. However if they are cheaper than an ID3 on a lease, then I think it’s a good car at that price point. We have left the brand for our EV and have gone down the Genesis GV70 route. In my opinion, as a like for like comparison with the RZ450e, there is no completion and it beats the RZ in most areas (apart from the sound system), especially on the EV side of things. Its charging curve is extremely good and for us, 10 minutes is a long time extra to be waiting. I don’t think that Genesis have sold many GV70s, which is a shame (but a bonus for us as it’s super rare ), I guess people don’t have confidence in the brand, so there may be deals on a lease too. We have a tow bar fitted to ours as well.
  2. We have never had any issues charging away from home either, and for our purposes, range anxiety is non existent.
  3. Called Lexus Bristol this morning regarding the CANBUS plate fix. Apparently Lexus are still working on a fix and they will be in contact when one is available.
  4. It will be interesting to see how quick that sells
  5. That’s serious money, if it’s been reserved for that price for what must be one of the first examples. That’s more than I paid for our 2017 Model with 13k miles back in 2019🙄. It maybe the angle of the photon but the carbon trim above the glovebox doesn’t look right. I wonder if it’s been wrapped.
  6. £3k PA in tax, is that in the UK? We currently pay £180 PA for road Tax on our ‘17 GS F, now that it’s passed its luxury car tax time.
  7. I was under the impression that the lack of locking wheel nuts was due to a parts shortage. It seems to have affected people who have purchased the new NX and RX also and I wasn’t aware that they had issues with their hubs, which required a redesign.
  8. You are correct, it is indeed the Lexus Swindon main dealer. I’ve been using them for years and they have also been fantastic.
  9. I have to say, our Electrified Genesis GV70 has been fantastic. I was extremely wary of leaving the Lexus brand when replacing our RX family car, instead of purchasing the RZ, but I think we have dodged a bullet 🙄
  10. I would imagine that it will happen to any second hand part, if you are lucky to find one. That was the first part on my car to delaminate and now it has happened to several other parts.
  11. Genuine Lexus IS250 (Second Gen) Leather and Chrome Gear Knob. Will also fit the 3rd Gen RX Purchased from Lexus main dealer and used for less than 6 months. In as New condition. £55 delivered to the UK
  12. I had an MG4 as my daily driver for the past 6 months and apart from an overly aggressive lane departure system (which can be disabled) it’s been fantastic. Spacious for a smallish hatch, relatively fun to drive around town, efficient and reliable. I can’t complain.
  13. Genuine Lexus Accessory Used but in as new condition. I am no longer able to use this item as my current Lexus has fixed head rests Extremely rare item never available in the UK Part number 08436-00100 £90 posted to the UK Open to sensible offers
  14. I seem to remember that stops pushing text messages to the car system when connected to connective services, which meant that it was a no go for me.
  15. I echo what’s been said above really. We had a 2007 IS250 SE-L on standard 17” wheels and a 2011 IS250 SE-L on standard 18” wheels, at the same time for 8 years and the ride was much better on the 2007 model.
  16. I agree that all EVs will see a drop in range during winter months. The point is that the Tesla Model Y can do 285 in good conditions but the Rz can only do around 200 in good conditions probably with no AC / heater on too ( do people actually do this?) I think I would take the Tesla, despite the drop a similar Rz range during the winter months. You can charge it up faster compared to the Rz too.
  17. I think it’s hit and miss with insurance. There is probably something that you trigger ( for some strange reason) in their algorithm, which causes these frankly still outcomes. I’m 42 and we live in Bristol, not far from the centre, with a clean licence, max No claims, and insured for business also.
  18. The insurance for both our GSF and Genesis Electrified GV 70 increased by £500 this year, with Directline. I was able to get them back down to within £50 of last year’s premium with Tesco. When searching, no one refused to quote for our EV.
  19. I am a Lexus fanboy and we have owned 4 Lexus cars over the past 14 years. We replaced our RX450h for an Electrified Genesis GV70 back in March. We decided to go down this route as the RZ wasn’t available in time and also in my opinion of course, I felt that the EV specs of the GV70 regarding range, charging, performance were better than the RZ on paper. In these regards, it hasn’t disappointed, and we have been extremely happy with it. I was concerned about the build quality coming from a Lexus but, boot alignment issue aside, it has been good. The material quality has been more than a match ( again in my opinion) now that I have seen the RZ and I currently have a very bitter taste in my mouth regarding Lexus build quality, with the carbon delimitation issues our GSF has suffered with. We had a top spec GV60 for a week and whilst we didn’t have any complaints, I felt the materials were a level below the GV70.
  20. Yes I echo the above really. Relax is just a marketing exercise. Looks good for advertising but in reality not much worth while looks to be covered. Fortunately the cars seem to be more mechanically reliable than their German counterparts. Looking at other forums, I’m not sure why people are happy with these cars with the faults reported. I guess all cars go wrong, nothing is perfect. Lexus / Toyota seems to give the least trouble of the bunch. I had mixed results with the extended warranty when it was around also but overall I was much more successful with my claims. Unfortunately I imagine your seat will be down to wear and tear again.
  21. I think that was owned by a guy who has replaced it with a new Toyota Supra. He was on the LC500 section of this forum.
  22. The rear spoiler on my GSF is delaminating. It was ceramic coated and well looked after. I wouldn’t buy another Lexus with Carbon Trim anywhere for that reason.
  23. In the current climate 80% charge is showing a range of 220. The predicted range it shows has proven to be quite accurate. AC knocks off about 5 miles and we drive it like a normal car. We mainly charge at home or at one of our business premises, which has been flawless. When we have used a rapid charger, the speeds are impressive. It comes with a 5 year subscription to Ionity which gives you a rate of 23p/ kw and we have seen sustained rates of 230kw. We have a couple on routes out of Bristol but it’s a shame there aren’t more around the UK.
  24. @wivenhoe Just another perspective of Genesis. I appreciate it’s still early days but here goes We have a Genesis Electrified GV70 since March 23 and purchased this over the RZ450e for many reasons, after having a Toyota or Lexus since 2003. Availability was one of them but I wasn’t impressed with the overall package and EV spec. The final nail in the coffin was the way Lexus have handled the Carbon Fibre issue with our GSF. The buying process and Genesis PA have been absolutely fantastic. The car itself from a reliability, built quality ( apart from one issue, see below) point of view has also been fantastic. Range, charging, performance, comfort, app and tech usability has been spot on and overall we are extremely happy with the car. We have had one issue which has really let the side down a bit and that was the boot door being slightly out of alignment. It went back to Genesis to be realigned and unfortunately the service department failed to listen to my request about not washing the car, despite me stating 6 times. Our car came back gleaming but with several scratched areas and damage to two areas of PPF. They also lost our boot floor 🙄. Fortunately the Service manager has done everything he can to rectify this and have covered the cost of rectifying the damage from our detailer and supplied a new boot floor. If you are in the market for a RZ450e but are having second thoughts about it, I would seriously consider an Electrified GV 70.
