  1. Well, the car is back on the road. We had a local ICE company that also does immobilisers remove the unit. Trouble is now the radio, heatres, boot and petrol cap lock don't work. Progress is progress though...
  2. Thanks. We tried a version of the 6minute thing earlier with no joy, maybe we didn't quite have the procedure correct so I may try it again. We have AA cover so maybe it's time to try that. I would imagine they have very similar computer equipment to the RAC.
  3. Thanks for all the replies. Firstly it is definitely an immobiliser problem. There is a special key that apparently needs to be inserted into the immobiliser before you dis the battery. If the key is not inserted and the immobiliser disarmed then this is what it does. Unfortunately we did not discover this until it was too late. The procedure suggested by 'joned' sounds worth a go as I have seen it elsewhere so thanks for that. Let's face it, what do I have to lose? Thanks to 'Granite', another one I will try tomorrow. Thanks to 'bazgtr' for your comments about being on Ebay or stolen. I take it you were surfing Ebay for more chocalate teapots at the time. 'cos we need some of those too. The garage that has changed the timing belt has had a Lexus mechanic have a look at it and not even he knows what to do with it. He says they have a Scorpion immobilser on them so I may get in touch with someone who specialises in them. If anyone else has any ideas they would be much appreciated.
  4. Hi. I have recently had my 1995 LS400 in for a timing belt change and now it won't start. The mechanic removed the neg lead on the battery and the immobiliser won't allow the car to start. The only problem is I have neither key fob or immobilser key. I only have the ingnition key. Is there anything I can do to get round the immobiliser? Thanks
