Hi,had mine changed at just over 55,500,belt looked in pretty good nick,also changed tensioner and idler,along with water pump.Its always better to be safe than sorry.Moveover cheap is not always best,best having it all done at once then you can be rest assured you have nothing to worry about.

Hi,I would assume its the same as in the Is 200,if this is the case you should find that the module/player in the boot has two screws/bolts one at each end that hols a metal plate in place,that need to be unscrewed and taken off,before you can gain access to the eject button.

Hi,you could try ebay or breakers yard and give them your colour code(fingers crossed you might be lucky and get a match).I will have 1 shortly but will be blue(with the headlight washer cutouts).All in all would think you are looking at a couple hundred quid,depending on if you get a match or not(would cost most if you cant get a match).

I had a 52 plate which also had Lexus on the drivers and passenger mats and 2 holes on the drivers mat,however when I bought a set for my current IS 200,the driver and passenger mats had IS 200 instead and the drivers mat only had 1 hole.

Hi,yes you are right the earlier ones had 2 holes for 2 clips(drivers mat) while the later ones seem to have only 1 hole.

Hi,if my memory serves me right,some lexus dealerships(eg lexus mk) did sell mats without the lexus logo and did say they were not oem.However they sold the oem ones(with the logo) as well,while the earlier mats had the L and lexus,the later ones had IS 200 instead.

There is a set of biege IS 200 oem mats going on ebay if anyone is interested.item number is 280699844980.

Hi,in a sense yes but it is done by the DVLA and not the owner of the car and thats the differnece.The DVLA can if they are unsure of the exact registration date,but you cannot fit a private 57 plate to a 55 plate registered car.

Same here,imported cars come to the UK with a Japanese Deregistration Certificate which as it happens is written in Japanese,if the DVLA cannot translate the actual year of manufacture they tend to register the car when it was actually registered in the UK so a 1996 car brought into the UK in 2000 could well be a W registration. Could well be right ... But Does this not go against the policy (DVLA) of not being allowed to put a Reg on a car which makes it look newer than it is. As when buying a private plate? Hi no I dont think it does,as it is still the DVLA that registers it,as for private/personal plates, you cannot for instance take a 57 private plate and put it on a 55 plate registered car thereby making it look younger but you can put a J(1991/92)plate on a 03 registered car thereby making it look older,hope this helps - You can make a car look older but not younger.

Hi lucky you,thanks your stars you did,its still surprising that even after reading this piece some are still contemplating taking the risk.Remember its 60,000mls or 6 years whichever comes 1st,you will save yourself alot of money by having it done if you are not sure if its been.I had mine done at 55,000 with car just under 6yrs old along with the water pump,tensioners etc.Dont leave it to chance.
