  1. Hi Guys A little challenge for you detailers: Im off down to London and the car is not clean I will have only 4 hours to get it sparkling clean before I set off. Now I have a number of products and I need your help to list for me the best ones I should use and the order I should use them in. Here are the products: *AG Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner (the green stuff) *Klasse All In One *Megs Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner *AG SRP *TW Nano-Tech Polishing Wax *TW Platinum Extra Gloss Protection *Megs NXT Tech Wax 2.0 *AG Extra Gloss Protection *AG Ultra Deep Shine *Collinite 476 Normally i clean the car over 2 days where I leave it overnight before applying certain other products but this time il have to use things i can layer on top of each other instantly without problems. Your knowledge and experience will be veryhelpful as im fairly new to detailing. Cheers.
  2. Thanks for the reply. Washed with AG green shampoo then used some meguairs clay using plenty of lube. Then dried with microfibre towel and used SRP and sealed with turtle wax platinum extra gloss. Buffed with towel and finally used some carnauba. Felt the surface again and its still feels rough. Even when i was using the srp i could HEAR the roughness. Prior to the paint job the surface was smooth as glass and couldnt hear myself polish if that makes sense. I just did the above on the boot lid but stopped there. Feels like something abrasive is firmly attached to the surface but not visible to the naked eye. Never had this problem before im 100% sure something has happened at the body shop my gut feeling is an abrasive polish has been used on the paint all over and not buffed properly / removed etc. What do you guys think is going on and is there something i can use in the wash stage to remove the surface particles, as it doesnt seem to be coming off with claying although its less rough than when i first got the car back but the boot lid now has fine straight line scratches. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks again
  3. Hey guys, I detailed my car yesterday and noticed swirls that wernt in concentric circles they were just straight lines here and there (about 2 inches long) . Dont know where they have appeared from as my washing technique is good ever since got into detailing (2 bucket method and washmit). I did recently give car in for a paint job and have suspicion a compund polish has been used all over as the paint surface doesnt feel as smooth as before. OK whats best way to get rid of these straight fine lines which products should i use and in which order? will that smooth glass feel come back? Also can you recommend the best hard wax for a black car. Thanks guys
  4. I washed and polished (with SRP) the car today and the sprayed parts still feel rough and the finish is still blurry. I phoned the guy and he said he would give it another buff so will see what happens. If it is buffed with a compound polish, my worry is that there isnt much clear coat to play with if any at all! I still have the car for another day just wandering if theres anything else i can try before handing it over. Thanks for your replies.
  5. Hi guys, I am new on here although I have been visitng LOC frequently buts it's the first time im posting. One of my doors was dented and the paint chipped off so i decided to get it sorted and resprayed but the bloke has done a poor job on it (unless its just me being too fussy). Ive been detailing since Jan this year when i got the IS200 and the the body work is mint with the surface being glass like (in terms of feel and reflectivity). However, the door that the bloke resprayed doesnt have the same gleam/reflectivity, the reflection is blurry Is this because he hasnt sprayed a clear coat or is there another reason? I am taking it back to him on Monday. Has anyone here had their car sprayed and what should it look like when its been done properly? ps Can I DIY this problem or is it a job for a professional? Thanks a lot guys. Take care
