  1. Hi all I'm new here I did a search didn't find what I was looking for. Question I have is Would it be possible to install the factory navi into a standard is220d I've seen one on eBay with all the wiring loom etc. Any ideas??
  2. could have chased after him but the police saw it all... anyway insurance said the reg i gave has insurance and there gonna get the it sorted within the next two days luckily i had quite a lot of witness including the police man that was there. get a courtasy car so im gonna be driving a mondeo or the new insignia would rather it be another lex tho lol maybe the ISF lol
  3. hello I worked it out yesterday was quite simple actually. Basically in the SE and sport models which have the amp the OEM HU only has 2 connections on the back. With the S model there is no amp but there is a total of 4 connections on the OEM HU. This must work like the amp does but in the HU. So to run the sat nav i had to dismantle the HU. taking out only the circuit and connections which was quite simple. take out the cassett and cd changer drive which left a unit the size of a single din and mounted it under the glove box. Connected the sat nav connectors to what the connectors from the old HU and the other two connectors being the speakers and power to the aftermarket HU. Everything works even voice guidance. instead of the drivers speaker being switched off constatly when the sat nav needs to speak it will turn the sound off from that speaker and speak then after will turn the sound back on again. :D and even better news the person who hit my car claimed liability :D
  4. here you go mate Plank and Leggit Tamworth Rd Long Eaton, Nottingham, NG10 3AD 0115 972 1515 be nice to meet you matey, hope you can make it. rob What date will this meet happen i know you said your getting pics made i could possibly get a vid done ill be able to edit it and stuff to make it something like that youtube lexus meet vid from america... What you think???
  5. nice one mate gotta ring them 2mrw claim lines closed at 5 today.. ill post tomorrow let you know what they say.
  6. looks like my insurance might possibly go up and just as it was suppose to go down....... Well ill have to wait and see what happens if not ill just fix it myself i guess shouldn't be too hard new grill and take a closer look at the bonnet (better then having a claim on my name if it all goes pair shaped) well still drivable so thats the best thing. bloody idiot hopefully he admits the bonnet is in need of a re-spray motorway stone chips
  7. Some idiot in a chelsea tractor reversed into my Lex today while t was parked up. luckily i was just a few meters a way and saw, so i run up to him and tried to get him out but he drove off just as i got to his window anyway didn't look too bad until me and my friend had a look at it after phoning the police. Got his reg number I'm after you lol Damage: Dented, scratched bonnet which has also been pushed up 2 cm on the left hand side. (might need hinges replacing or the entire bonnet) Creaked grill But the bonnet being pushed up is the worse. nothing damaged under the bonnet thank god. Police took details and said they are going to track the number plate then hold interviews with the person who is probably going to deny everything (i have witnesses) the police said he'll get done for driving without due care and attention and making off from a RTC thats gong to take ages.... anyway need to notify my insurance just wanted to know what to tell them will the claim be put on my name the car was parked and nobody was inside this is the first time i'm ringing the insurance to report a claim.
  8. double din quite easy the same as single. when u get the facial plate i got mine from autoleads all you do i take out the pocket and carefully cut the plastic going along the middle its easier then you think. got a double din touchscreen pioneer DVD IPod Etc etc but if you have a double din that comes out then you need to sand alot of the bottom bit down so it comes out proper depends on the actual size of the unit my unit has a 6 inch screen its about 7inch including the surround with about 2mm of space around the facia. The worst thing happened to my wonderful Lex today i was parked up and a :tsktsk: in a chelsea tractor reviced into the bonnet while trying to get his tank out so ive rushed to his widow and the :tsktsk: drove off..... Got his number plate but now its going to take ages to sort out with police and insurance. Plus there properly going to give me a claim stupid insurance terms. even thought the car was parked..... damage: dented bonnet, bonnet pushed up 2cm on left hand side scratched paintwork cracked grill lucky it drives and nothing under the bonnet was damaged

  10. Thanks for your help mate gonna play around with everything on monday and hopeful a solution would come from it. was having a look at the wiring and im guessing its just a way of getting some power to the screen any way done a few ICE installs in the Lex so ill have a play around. ?? do you have all of the loom running to the screen then? if so you should have a loom on the stereo that requires the bypass on it.. there are a total of 4 looms on the oem HU two of which are the power and speaker plugs (they are plugged into the aftermarket HU) and 2 are for the navi i guess. (one must be the power and the other must be for the voice guidance) the navi itself just has one loom a small clip at the back.

I already have the factory fitted sat nav installed in the car came out the factory like it the computer in the boot went, so i got another computer which works. the sat nav is powered through the HU but the HU has err 3 message so is no good, wanted to know how to run the sat nav through a aftermarket HU. Just to say again my IS is already fitted with factory sat nav and all wiring done by lexus when it was made. sorry i didn't make this clear in the original post.
  14. Hi. I already had oem sat nav fitted to the car factory fitted got all the wiring and everything, the problem was with the cd drive which is located in the boot it needed replacing. just wanted to know if there is a way of bypassing but can only find threads which detail how to do it if you have the amp which i do not.
