  1. Hi Steve, Just had my 220d re shod with Falken ZE 912's from camskill online @£60 each excellent performance tyre all rounder, good reviews from various sources and to be honest I feel they grip better than the bridgestone fitted to the car. Hope this helps PS Camskill was the best price for the tyres including only £10 to deliver next day Good luck
  2. May be wrong but I don't think it's on the base model. You probably haven't got rain sensing wipers, parking sensors, auto-dimming mirrors, electrically adjustable steering column, three-driver memory settings, power rear sunshade, illuminated scuff plates, swivelling HID headlamps with washers either have you? With regard to the problem with the dipping mirror, the Service Manager at the local Stealership told me over the 'phone that I needed a replacement unit as it was a known problem. Just as well I took out the extended warranty:) Yes your absolutely right!!! I don't have these fitted to my model as everyone who owns a lexus will know!!! just thought I'd ask the question above, hoping that I would get a sensible helpful answer and not a smart condescending one eh!!!!!
  3. Anyone know if this function is available on all IS, mine is a 2008 IS220D Base model and they have never worked from new, maybe something to raise with lexus!! Thanks
  4. Fairly simple to do ... it only took me about an hour to do both sides and I'm not mechanically minded :) Start off by removing the 3 plastic engine covers by popping off the plastic clips. Access to the drivers side light is probably made easier by removing the air filter box which should be held down by 2 10mm bolts, once the air filter box is out of the way just pop off the plastic cover for the dipped beam and the bulb can be twisted out ... Instructions with the HIDs should cover the required connections for the new bulbs. Access to the passenger side light is slightly easier, you just have to remove the 10mm bolt holding in the plastic tube for the washer bottle and once the tube is bent out of the way you'll be able to get at the bulb cover. A little patience is required when putting the new bulbs in as it is a bit fiddly !! Finding a suitable place to put the ballast units is awkward as there isn't much spare space around the headlights but I managed to put mine next to the air filter box and one next to the fuse box, secured with velcro tape and cable ties (not very professional but it has done the job and they don't move at all) Hope that helps ... Thx for this, was very helpful, will give it a go, as lexus would charge for at least an hours labour, just to change a bulb lol!!!
  5. Hi, I recently tried to get the well known high street store to fit lamp upgrades, although they said it was too difficult to access to remove the stock lamps. Can you give me an idea of what to remove etc to enable me to attempt the upgrade myself!! Cheers
  6. Hi all, just had the parrot ck3100 fitted to my IS220D by an ex highstreet motor store employee, he used a telemute lead from the amp in the boot, however I have discovered that sound only comes from the left rear speaker. Not sure what the deal is here as he said it's something to do with the amp itself, not convinced though. Anyone got any ideas!!! Will need to get him back so if anyone knows about this issue it would be good to be able to talk him through his obvious mistake Thx
