  1. Hi Took my IS220d in for a winter check on promo at my local dealer, they found that my car is leaking Diesel for the injector pipe 3 + 4 also the common rail needs replacing parts alone cost £1200 :o has anyone else experienced this ? They tightened the blots but it's still leaking, the pipes don't cost much around £30-40 but the rail costs almost £1000 :tsktsk: I've had my IS220d for 2.5 years second major problem to occur.
  2. Ok They could not do it because the key was second hand and already programmed to a car, they said it had to be unpaired 1st. So it means I'm stuffed have to get a new one for £250+ Let that be a warning don't waste you money buying spare of ebay.
  3. The problem is the key is Lost so can't take the internals from the old one which is easy to do. It's the re-programming & blanking and adding to the car ECU that's the difficult bit. There is a local shop who claim they can do this but I frankly would not trust anyone to do this except at the dealer otherwise you could easily find your car going AWOL a few days later.
  4. Hi Chris, I have not blanked the old key I only have 1 of the original keys so based on that it's not going to work ? Surely Lexus can wipe off the data of the old key ? Regards Jed
  5. Hi All, I have purchased a denso 14aac key of e-bay & a Toyota smart key-maker but had no joy ! I'm booked into go to the dealer on Saturday to re-programme the key onto the car they are charging £59 lets see how it goes. Is220d 2006 Regards Jed
  6. I personally would be interested in a product to totally bypass the DPF. the only one i come across on my search is the powerking fap emulator and there is no retailer in UK for them. how is your car getting along now? keep us updated. [/ Just a quick update I have travelled 500 miles the past week with no sign of limp mode !
  7. That looks interesting, has anyone on these forums tried it yet ?
  8. Thanks for your advice I will use additives and v-power type fuel see how it goes just did a 35 mile at 60mph-3kRevs round trip and all seems ok so far. Hopefully I have burned off enough soot i.e regenerated the DPF
  9. 1. I have had the car since march 2009 so it's been 1.5 years 2. No idea my came with full dealer service history (Sheffield) it's been for a full service and recall for some work too since I bought the car. 3.I have a mixed driving pattern 50% Urban/50% Motorway Ok I took the car to a friends garage that cleaned out the ERG Valve this was clocked up pretty bad. Rest the dash errors using my memoscan u581. I then drove it at high rev down the M11 at last night, for 50 Miles 25 Each Way. Was doing 3k revs constant, the car went into limp mode around 5/6 times during the journey, I pulled up on the hard shoulder, switched the car off restarted, although the dash board is showing limp mode ( Red Triangle + Check VCS+Engine Light + Traction Control Light) The car pulls fine when re-stared. Its actually quite scary at night, when the car it hits limp mode, although the motorway is quite at night lorries coming fast from behind is nerve racking. The top speed I got in limp mode was 40/50mph and sometimes 60mph downhill, my foot was routed the carpet all the way in limp mode. Although I do a lot of motorway driving ? I have always tend to jump to 6th gear asap this means I hardly ever touched 2k Revs always below, this would explain why I my DPF never cleared up, by itself. After I came back I reset the error again. I have managed to drive about 60 miles urban without going into limp mode. My memoscan u581 does not tell me how full the particulate filter is ? or if I need to do this exercise again. I plan to do this exercise one more time I will fill up with Shell Diesel ( instead of my usual Tesco, no clubcard points for me anymore)+ I will use an additive see how that goes hopefully won't see this error again, and maybe save a lot of money.
  10. 1. I have had the car since march 2009 so it's been 1.5 years 2. No idea my came with full dealer service history (Sheffield) it's been for a full service and recall for some work too since I bought the car. 3.I have a mixed driving pattern 50% Urban/50% Motorway
  11. A few days ago on the M1 my IS220d (2006) went into limp mode Engine Light + Traction Control Light + Check VCS light AA said the diesel particulate filter full was full. The cars done 60k they said there was a passive way to regenerate by driving on the motor way. The AA took the car to the Lexus dealer in Woodford who want £1550 inc VAT thats with discount. They said there going to change the catalytic convertor, where the filter is housed. Anyone got any other ideas that's not going to cost me an arm + leg ?
  12. I used them too ! great service they are based in East London.
  13. Hi All, I had been contemplating HID’s for a while, I called the Lexus Dealer in Woodford who wanted just over £1,000 for HID lights to be retro fitted to my IS220d 2006 SE. Any way I stumbled across this company on yell they have a web site hid-kits.co.uk Called them up they were very professional got an email confirmation of my appointment, and received a text on the day + plus a call. He installed cambus ballast ( this I believe prevents any warning light errors) 35w with 6000k blubs the most you can have legally. He does others but that what I requested, took him 45mins. Came to my house Total Cost £89.95 for the Kit fitted & £25 for the cancellers if required. I was really impressed & happy with them so much so that I asked him to do the fog lights also, hence he is on the floor checking if he could do them without replacing the bumper.
  14. I was given a 59 plate 220d courtesy car whilst mine went in for a recall I was able to use the phone functions whilst driving. i.e. access the phone book which is dimmed out in my car.
