  1. Just returned back to the board after lengthy discussions with the only auto electrician that I could find on a Saturday that will look at my car, he has thrown in the towel as he doesn't know where half of the modules are in the engine and he sounded unsure - best not to let him tinker with it. It was a process of elimination of six modules he thinks.......... What the hell do I do now ?????
  2. B)--> QUOTE(T7RY B @ Dec 2 2006, 10:38 AM) ← Check the MAF sensor or it could be the sensor on the exhaust /manifold. Could need cleaning or replacing. Many thanks for this, at least it's a good place to start !!! Regards Flyboy80
  3. Hi Guys, My RS200 of 4 years that has provided me with trouble free motoring, for so long is sick !!! - The engine cuts out when approaching junctions or when coming to a stop. In idle it ticks over at around 350 - 450 rpm, as if it is about to stall, or will stop. As it is an automatic, loss of sterring, power. I Took her to local diagnostics centre to establish fault, they changed the battery and checked alternator, because they believe that this was the problem. After this did not rectify the problem, I got the usually crap about being import etc. Not able to read diagnostic signals, main dealer issue or take to Toyota and all the normal head scratching as garages mechanics do..... So can anyone recommend within the Leamington Spa / Warwick / Coventry area a reliable "import-friendly" garage with correct equipment and attitude to fix my baby? - Preferably The car is somewhat drivable but due to nature of fault I would prefer not to drive too far !! Regards Flyboy80 :o
  4. Hi Guys, Been watching this post with interest, got an Altezza last year, with SAT NAV and TV, great to see finally may be able to use this very expensive ornament. All I've got to do now is see if I can get some sort of NAV system that can replace or work with existing monitor.
  5. I'm in Warwickshire, been with LOC since last year when I brought the Tezza over in Aug, still need to do some more stuff to it, but haven't really had time, in Nov I became a father for the first time !!! - so had my hands full with other things !! :yack:
  6. Anybody out there replaced the discs and brakes on an Altezza RZ200 ?? Was it an easy job to do? bearing in mind it's a Jap import, so really what I'm asking is .... are there any surprises ??
  7. Hi, Try Tesco, they accept imports, and for me 5 years no claims, my postcode came to get this.... £413 fully comp !! Direct Line was £435.... go figure Mr Flux
  8. I tried what you suggested, nothing, didnt work, still getting err3 up, or should the fuse be left out for a while ie minutes ?
  9. Hi, I just bought a little unit that will de-restrict the Altezza, it's self-fit, with instructions, though I will probably get an expert to do it !!! didn't cost too much but the SVA guys said that you need two units to be added to de-restrict, and they had only fitted one to pass the SVA test. I will let you guys know how it goes but I am apparently heading towards speeds of 165mph +
  10. Any joy on this yet as I just got my Altezza, limited to 120 -130 mph, this boy's got a bagful of speed to share out, need to de-restrict quickly otherwise I'll be eaten up by those BMW type people spoiling for a fight !!!! -how do I do it ? it is simple ? expensive ? somebody's gotta know !!!!
  11. Hi Guy, Anyone know how to check to see if I 've got any cd's stuck in the autoloader ? I keep getting an err3 message which indicates a cd is stuck. I mangage to pull the unit out, where should I take a back off to check ? Local dealer quoted £350 to take unit out and send off to repairer, £350 to check it out is a bit steep !!!! And on top of that no sounds for ages !!! previous threads have said it is possible.... so near and yet so far !! - sorry forgot to mention, Altezza import with cd loader at the bottom
  12. Welcome to the club Jinja, I had to wait 6 weeks until last Wednesday to pick up my Altezza from the docks, and I can tell u the ride home to the Midlands was awesome !!! - it was well worth the wait, now I can't wait for the DVLA to give me my reg , so that I can do some serious posing !!!
  13. Thank You for your reply !! - which area does TV pickup do you know? and did you leave your Sat Nav in or did you change it ? Someone suggested trying a Lexus salvage yard to see if you could get a UK unit and put in, obviously as long as it was not damaged, but I wonder if it is all worth it and second hand sat-nav's even in a salvage yard are going to be expensive me thinks!! - I have tried pricing up a new unit but way too much !!
  14. Hi, I have recently purchased an Altezza RZ 200 that I am due to pick up next week. This model comes with Sat/Nav and a TV apparently, but is from Japan (of course!) and since reading some of the posts, I was wondering if any body had yet to solve the mystery surrounding whether or not you can get a CD to change to UK for the Sat Nav ? - has anyone tried and succeeded ? The boys over at Local Lexus were not too helpful.
