  1. I;ve not been back agin since so I'm curious about what they will suggest really. I should have included I dont think a refurb would do this as its the middle section (core if you put your hand in the barrel behind the spokes) of the wheel that appears to be the problem rather than the outer rim contact where it meets the tyre that you can see. Funnily enough i recently had the outfer face of the wheels refurbed. Where the peel back the tyre and blast/coats the spokes. FYI this problem was already existed before this was done.
  2. Hi guys I had two slow puntures that needed to be pumped up every 3 days so when I bit the bullet and bought new tyres I had hoped this problem would go away..... However, full set of new tyres later the two still seem to be going down (definately not to do with tyre punctures) i took them back to the tyre place and they whipped them off and told me the rims looked like they had corroded so they whacked some black paste on them in attempt to seal them up. This has imporved things but still need reinflating every two weeks or so. Before I go back to them thought i'd try here to see if anyone ever had this before and if there's a suggestion for a permanent fix? Never heard of this issue before so was a bit surprised rims correded in this way. Any help appreciated...
  3. Hi Joe Not got time to set up a photobucket account etc at the moment which seems to be the only way to upload images. Type Saris bones into google images and there's plenty of examples. Had a quick look at my photo too which probably isn't as useful as some on google anyways. one other thing to consider with lid vs roof is boot access. Not a problem for me but if you plan to go away with the family etc for really long journeys this may force your decision. Hope this is useful in some way.
  4. I've got the Bones 3 which carries 3 bikes and hasn't made any marks on the lid and stays in place just fine. Was a bit nervous using it initially as we picked up my mates spanking new whyte (i think thats the brand) up from the shop on a trip to wales recently but it was solid driving from derby to wales and back no worries at 90mph With 3 bikes on,it could be argued the lights are obscured but the number plate definately is... my solution was to make a cardboard number plate and tie it to the last bike. Didnt want to go to the effort of sourcing and fitting a lighting and number plate rig but I've not been pulled yet. When packing the bikes on the rack use foam pipe covers for the frame and forks to prevent scratching. works a treat :-) and much cheapeer than alternatives you;d be sold from a bike shop. I'm sure I;ve got apicture of the rack with 3 bikes on if it helps though I'll have to figure out how to upload it onto here.
  5. I got a Saris Bones rack for the Boot lid which is pretty good. Dont like the idea of having my bike on the roof. Annoyingly my bike wont fit in the boots with both wheels off and dont fancy putting it on the backseat either.
  6. These guides are amazing! Thanks for this. Yup, the symptoms you describe are indicitive of seizing caliper and/or sticking slide pins. I have done a few tutorials on doing various jobs in relation to this. I have a GS, but the IS front brakes are the same. Slide Pin Overhaul Pad and Disc change Caliper Removal/Change
  7. Do you know if a brake problems is ever likely to give wobble through the steering wheel? I have much more brake dust on the passenger side front and it can feel like the wheel wants to come off when dring at 50! It comes and goes though which I'm told rules out a wheel bearing issue. It's especially likely to be bad in the wet Any help appreciated
