  1. Maybe. I'll take a look. Not sure about the lpg aspect though....
  2. Yes I remember you. You came and collected it with your friend who was working on electricity not too far away. This is my replacement for the Celsior. Ive had it for 9 years and I'm really sad to see it go. Still drives well, would be easier if it didn't! No idea what to get next....
  3. Hi everyone. Today's the day when I have to decide whether to scrap my 2000 LS400 blue lexus. I have had it for 9 years and it's been great. It's due its MOT today but needs too much work on it now to warrant doing it. Its interior is pretty naff as the dog has bitten the doors 😞 And there is a dent in the bonnet where one of the local red deer butted it. (It lived to tell the tale though)
  4. Japarts.co.uk lets you put in your reg no etc and shows you a page of parts and prices for your vehicle.
  5. One of the keys is the master key. Had to use it when the engine immobiliser activated (can't remember why) Couldn't get anything to work and had to google it, luckily good old google solved that problem. Don't know what the other is for, maybe google will tell you that too. Other half will be out for the count until tomorrow now - only 3 hours sleep since Tuesday night. Will ask him in the morning and let you know re boot.
  6. If its not unlocking with either key maybe the inside 'security' lock has been activated. Somewhere need the inside boot release there is a lock which stops the boot being opened. Try unlocking it - only works with one of the keys I think.
  7. I have just upgraded my CD sat nav disc for my ls400 so my old one is up for grabs if you are interested. It is 2005-6 version 1 - part number 08927 50812
  8. Thanks for the reply. Having a bit of trouble finding somewhere to scrap it here. (Norfolk), and we definately don't have the storage space for it as there are four other vehicles here. There is nothing mechanically wrong with it as far as I know. It is still being driven. Think the only things that don't work were mentioned originally plus the drivers seat doesn't heat up. It is MOT'd until October. The interior of the car is quite revolting and would need a lot of tlc as this is the car the dog has been taken out in. There is a dent in the rear which occured when it was reversed into an unseen tree branch. Not big. A few other supermatket type dings but nothing major.
  9. Hi, I have had the above vehicle for about 6 years or so. It is a 1997 grey import Celsior. It's been a great car and we will be sad to see it go but the backlight has gone on the speedo etc and because of that I don't think it will get through another MOT (due October) as the criteria has changed. Also the radio etc no longer works. We have bought a cheap to run car.... (We still have another LS400 so all is not lost!). Just wondering if anyone knows what the scrap value would be or whether to sell it for parts. It has two newish tyres, bought in September, which unfortunately don't fit the other Lexus, something to do with the Celsior being restricted.
  10. try this - i think it is correct - chrisvince@btopenworld.com
  11. I thought about doing it on my 400 but since it had 145k on it I decided to upgrade to a 430 first with a lower mileage. A couple of questions if you don't mind - who did you get to do it? Which system did you go for and do you have an electronic flash lube? Regards, Liam http://www.autogas-kit.com/ I got it from Anglia Autogas in Norwich. Took a couple of days. Versus Autogas Systems (8 Cyl Sequential Multipoint Injection). Web site explains all! They also sell diy kits, but you need a certificate to change the registration documents, and insurance sometimes require one. Would recommend LPG and Anglia autogas.
  12. I bought a 2000 Lexus LS 400 last May and had it converted to LPG. Gas at the time was around 45p litre. I paid £1500 for the conversion and have found it to be well worth it. A trip to London (130 miles) costs around £20 at todays price - .63 per litre. I find it slightly annoying that the tank doesn't take anywhere near its capacity, usually only get about 25-30 litres into a 60 litre doughnut tank, but this appears to be because the pressure at the pump is low. If you fill up just after the (gas)tank at the pump has been filled you get a lot more in, up to 48 litres. Also the outside temperature makes a difference. Performance is hardly any difference unless the tank is very low, then the kick down doesn't respond so well, I usually switch the gas off temporarily, and back on immedately (just in case there is a hiccup). The added bonus is low emissions.
  13. Thanks for the suggestions. (It is a grey import) Have finally got it covered through 'Insure' - part of Hastings for £360 fully comp. Haven't got the paperwork yet but they assured me that it would be ok. Good old car lives to see another day!!

  15. Any ideas on reasonable insurance for a Celsior? Last year I paid £390 (3 years ncb - business use class 1) This year I am looking at £500ish. No accidents etc. and I am over 50........... 1 company insured me for 19 days (cost £157 for the year tpf&t)then withdrew cover saying they had the wrong vehicle listed even though I had chosen Lexus Celsior on the vehicle search. If I don't find any soon, I think I will scrap/sell it, not that its worth much these days. Such a waste though.
  16. Hi, Thanks for this, I've looked at this website before and it's useful but unfortunately it doesn't cover the LS400 and the CD based system. It only covers LS430s and upwards which are all DVD based. Thanks anyway though. Steve Bump Just checked this myself. I have a 2000 LS 400 with 2005-2006 cd. I looked under GS (the first one) and chose the number from my current disc from the drop down box, enterered the rest of my dis info in the next box and it came up with the latest version to buy.
