Just as long as your are sensible you will be ok, if you are worried about certain things cover them with a plastic shopping bag or tin foil moulds well, if pressure washing turn down the pressure if you can & stand back a rinse is better then trying to blast dirt off, I would start with a cold engine, rinse, spray on your cleaner, agitate with a brush in all nooks & crannies leave to dwell for a few minutes & then rinse off, dry off what you can with old cloths & then you could start the engine & let run for a while to help dry out a bit more, once dry off with the engine & apply dressing, gently wipe off any excees dressing job done, lovely ! For the home user Dodo have a great selection & have quite good durability, I am not really a fan of so called colour enhanced waxes so wouldnt get too caught up in blue velvet for just blue cars etc, or if you are looking for a more fancy wax you could try Swissvax very good waxes & detailing products but of course will be a bit more expensive than say colinite or dodo Barry

I use 303 Aerospace Fabric Guard. clean your mats, make sure they are dry spray on allow product to dry & repeat. Will help with future cleaning & any spills grime will clean off alot easier Barry :)

I see cheap/bad re-sprays all the time & they stand out a country mile, if you car is clean & polished it will even more. But if he is your mate & going to do a good job for you & not charge you the earth then go for it. Mine is currently in the shop having 4 panels bare metal resprayed & its not cheap but you get what you pay for I just wish I had a mate with a bodyshop lol :D Baz
