  1. I have just discovered a small petrol leak which drips from the centre rear of the engine bay when the engine is running. I suspect a fuel seal failure of some sort, any suggestions please before I run it in to the mechanic?
  2. My 04 model has just started doing this too. It is definitely outside the vehicle on the nearside as it comes into the cabin with the passenger window open but not the driver's. Also comes in with the aircon set to external extraction. The smell is not under the bonnet. Did you manage to solve it?
  3. Just had to use a spanner and a pair of pliers to remove the alloy dust covers from my tyre valves where they had welded themselves to the stems. Obviously there was some sort of chemical reaction because a lot of white dust came out. If you must use them I would suggest a dab of vasoline on the stem and don't do them up too tight.
  4. When I had my Cobra exhaust fitted the fitter resorted to heating the fitting carefully with a blowtorch on a low flame to expand it and it came out quite easily. Everything else he tried had failed up to that point.
  5. Why do you want to change them? Are they defective? The Lexus speakers are excellent quality and when I had my Alpine head fitted the guy who did it commented that I didn't need to change them. Save your money for something worthwhile.
  6. Spot on, Con and Use regs allow for a 10% margin of error reading high. Think of it as a safety margin that could save you £60 and three points. Incidentally when I was a traffic cop nobody got done for less than 40mph in a 30mph limit because we exercised DISCRETION, we were not a bl**dy revenue making machine. Nowadays you hardly ever seen a traffic cop in London but plenty of yellow cameras, so much for road safety.
  7. Just keep it subtle. I have debadged mine and fitted a plain black grille and it certainly gives the car a more aggressive look. What's a 'bog boar'? I have fitted a Cobra exhaust because I liked the rolled lip and the sound is not over the top. Look and listen on Youtube, quite a lot of videos of Lexus exhausts on there to play with.
  8. What really pees me off is when I read articles in the paper like the one in the Mail last year pointing out that sixteen container ships burning raw crude as fuel produce as much pollution as all the cars in the world. If that's true then scrap a few and leave us car drivers alone.
  9. Saw a gold one recently and it was not a good colour
  10. Don't know about you but I hardly use my main beams round town so why not put HIDs in the dipped and a Xenon bulb in your main beam, at least when you flash someone it won't change to a yellow light and it'll save you money and the trouble of locating a second set of ballasts.
  11. Saw a lovely set of wheels on a Lexus Soarer the other day, they were slightly dished, will they fit our car?
  12. Just read in the Metro newspaper that only one country in Europe has dearer petrol than the UK, guess that will be you then!
  13. Do we have any members in Portugal? I've just been lucky enough to spend five days there and didn't see a single Lexus. In fact I only saw three Toyotas. Incidentally their petrol was £1.29 a litre!
  14. I know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but I just noticed a new Mazda 6 go past me today and thought, that's what the back end of the IS250 should have looked like.
  15. Four minutes! A new record? Cheers mate
  16. I'm sure someone will know this straight away but which are the main beam bulbs, HB3 or HB4 please? On Ebay they're both described as dipped beam. Thanks in anticipation.
  17. Good news, undo the tiny screw on both. take out the internals from your original key which includes the battery and slot it into the new one. The buttons will go into the holes, do up the screw and that's it. The screw holds it together and that's probably where the old one broke.
  18. Does it have holes for the buttons, a hollow centre and a tiny screw where the blade joins the body?
  19. What is it? I always find my small bladder to be a good bee r limiter
  20. If you've bought a blank and had the blade cut just transfer all the internals from your broken key to the new case, job done.
  21. When my numbers come in I'm afraid I shall be buying an M3 not an IS250, they've blown it in the looks department for me. Would still get the IS250C for the missus though.
  22. Got mine done at Turners of Croydon, just round the corner from Lexus and almost next door to Toyota, excellent service and very friendly and been around for years.
  23. Locking tyre valve caps, get 'em on Ebay for a few quid
  24. Buy a key blank from Ebay making sure you get the right length blade and three button version. Get a decent key shop to cut it for you for about a tenner and swap the internals. No programming required, job done.
