  1. Royal steering wheels do quality work. This is the first mod I did to my IS250. This is what I had done to mine.
  2. Hi everyone, Is there any way to reduce the height of the parking brake pedal when the brake is off. I am quite a tall guy and getting my foot on the pedal to actually apply the brake can be a bit awkward sometimes. My car is an IS250 Se-L Auto. Any help appreciated. Gaz
  3. Hi Everyone, Today I purchased my second Lexus. Many moons ago I used to own an Is200 and loved it. I then went over to the dark side and purchased a Mercedes and then a 3series and have now come back. I have purchased a 2007 IS250 Se-L in Silver (Argento Ice I think) with 23k on the clock, Mark Levinson Audio, Black Leather and in almost showroom condition. So far I am loving the car, even though I have only had it about six hours lol. I need to get deep into this forum to find out tips and tricks and also the best subtle mods to do on the car, along with any preventative maintenance it may need going forward. If its like my IS200 I had it was fantastically reliable so finger crossed. Cheers everyone Gaz Ps, I shall get some pics up when I get a chance.
  4. I had mine lowered on Apex Springs about two weeks ago and I love it. Not too harsh, a lot less body roll and so much more positive to drive, just point and shoot lol. worth every penny
  5. I took the leap. Should receive my HID kit with slimline ballasts tomorrow morning. Ordered 8000k. Looking forward to joining the Hid club lol. Good Timez
  6. Lol, thanks For the heads up. Much appreciated mate.
  7. Is there any problems with fitting aftermarket hid conversion kits and mot's/the law.?? I don't wanna fit a kit and get tugged constantly by the law. Every company that I've seen that sells them state off road use only. Any help appreciated guys.
  8. Hi Guys, Just a quick heads up for anyone needing a new ignition barrell. I ordered one from Lexus Woodford expecting to pay the £80 or so that everyone roughly antisipates it costing but they only charge £57 inc vat. I ordered it on Wednesday and picked it up on Thursday. Superb service. Absolute dodle to fit too.
  9. I put the key into the ignition today and went to turn the key and steering wheel to release the steering lock but the key would not move. I could take the key out and put it back in but it just didnt move. After a swift punch (lol) it started to work and is ok at the moment but im concerned that its gonna happen again and this time not work again. I have read up on the barrell costing £80 from a Lexus Stealers and that for this price you can get the barrell cut to the key that I have already but what I wanted to know is if anyone has done this and what is the procedure. Do I have to take the key in or does the Dealers have a record of the correct key for the registration of the car and I can just ask for the barrell to be made for the registration of the car. Any help appreciated guys.
  10. Ormi, Thank you mate, A wealth of knowledge as always.
  11. Am I right in saying that you need a ball joint splitter, and when refitting the balljoint just clicks into place as the nut is tightened ??
  12. Just a quick one, When fitting new springs to my IS200 do I need to crack any balljoints or can the shocks be removed and replaced without doing so. Ive herd this is the case and have never done this before so am a little aprehensive. I have experience with tinkering with cars. I fitted a full spax setup on by bros puma this morning and before anyone says anything I know a puma is like a matchbox toy in comparison to the Lexus. lol. Any help appreciated guys.
  13. LOL, 35mm is probably too low for a Lexus in East London with the dreaded Speed hump placed about every 20feet or so lol. Sometimes when the car goes over some of the humps it catches the plastic flaps under the front bumper and the plastic pan under the car. Once I get used to the car at - 35mm im sure that wont be low enough. lol. Thanks for the heads-up Ormi.
  14. I just ordered a set of Apex Springs for the Lex. They drop the car 35mm front and back which should make it feel much better. I just have one question, Is there anything to watch out for when changing out the old springs and installing the new ones ?? Cheers guys, will upload pix when its done.
  15. Exactly the same thing happened to me. That small length of metal pipe which can only be three inches long has an "O" ring on either end and when they perish they let a small dribble of coolant out which gets more and more when revving the car. I just whipped off the little connector dooberry thingy above it which is held on by a couple of bolts and let the coolant flood out. Whipped out the pipe with some Mole-Grips and off to B&Q I went to get some "O" rings. ( it was late on a sunday, b&q was the only option). I threw everything back together and refilled the cooland and its been happy dayz ever since, that was about six months ago and touch wood theres no issues. Hope this helps.
