  1. yeah we all need a time when we can meet up, there is quite a popualr place for car clubs to meet up in kent, bluewater in the evening after 6pm. as the car parks are HUGE and undercover. plenty of light and warm, lol. also better if people were taking photos etc. plus there is food and refreshments there. sign posted from everwhere. would this be a good place for everyone? :winky:
  2. well being the only other person i physicaly know with an is200 (being 22 doesnt help) i would love the opertunity of a lexus owners club meet before it gets too cold, and it seems there are a few members here in the garden of england. I have so many questions and stuff i would love to ask. so then, who would be up for it. we could arange a time and date that would suit everyone? :zee:
  3. and an detailed interior pic of the skyline
  4. and an exterior shot of the skyline with rage flip paint
  5. well here are a couple of pics of the lex model prior to the paint. Also there is an couple of pics from a lowrider style skyline r34 i built, using aoshima 19" rims and rage blue to red flip paint and a lot of smoothing. interior can be done anyway you would like, i can make in dash tv's etc or rear head rest screens. :zee:
  6. when i get home tonight i will post you all some decent pictures, i am from birchwood near bromley but my girlfriend lives in bromley and i know beckenham. costs for a completely stock build of the car would have to be around £150+ depending on what paint etc but this is not bad seeing as there is 10+hrs work at a cheap rate of £10 ph. car after import will cost me about £25 and paints etc another £25. my normal rate for cutom build cars is £25 ph, or a minimum of £250 up to £600. lol. so your getting a GOLD discount.
  7. if you go to www.scaleautostyle.com you will find all that you will need, from carbon fibre decals upwards, the photo etch discs look great, he also does photo etch rear wings and full resin jap bodykits.
  8. use a white primer with it if you can, just a maximum of two mist coats tho or ya will loose detail. the first time i applied paint to the body wihtout primer it went bad. and that was halfords lexus black! but with primer it was ok, my one has 19" chrome 5 spoke rims on it. and photo etch slotted disc brakes
  9. fujimi make good kits but beware of fitment, there are quite a few bits you will have to cut and reshape but i am sure that you will enjoy the build. remember to use a decent primer on the car tho as the plastic tends to react badly to certain paints :winky:
  10. Am hoping to go and have another look at the pcworld deal again tonight, its pretty good i think. but i dont think it lasts too long. will be cool tho never having to think for myself again hahahah. Inspiration for this buy was on friday when i was at canary wharf till late, planning to go home via the blackwall tunnel but finding it closed! ended up driving for another 1hr to get home with sat nav it could tell me where to go quicker!
  11. well i have myself been searching for a model of my lexus for a long time now and they have been few and far between. Well i finaly found what i wanted in japan, only problem is i have to import them myself and build them myself. I am wondering how many people would want a commision of their car built, i can paint in any colour inside and out, recreate just about anything you have done to your car. Wheels are availiable from japan in all different styles but at extra costs obviously. a whole manner of things can be done to the cars including lowering etc all undertaken by myself. the scale of the cars are 1/24. detail is amazing. obviously they are not going to be cheap as there is over 10hrs worth of work going into the build plus cost of kit and materials but you would have a one of a kind model just for yourself. there is a link at the bottom of the page to a previous model i had built, many more of my pieces can be found on the site its self. Am building my is200 replica at the minuite and will email pics to anyone that wants one. i think there are also gs300 models available some with sterio installs, there is also the possibility for an engine to be placed in any of the cars from a tamiya supra kit but this would be very labour intensve. chris :zee: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/...t=zilla+skyline
  12. ALSO I JUST WENT TO THE TOM TOM WEB SITE AND DOWNLOADED THE EXAMPLE VIDEO, SEEMS GREAT, I REALY LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING THAT TO HELP ME, SORRY BOUT THE CAPS LOCK BTW.
  13. i have just seen in pcworld they are doinf a deal for a toshiba pda with all the tom tom software and car bits for £499. never used a toshiba before or the tom tom software, any personal experience with that stuff?
  14. i love oversteer, just getting the car sideways out of a corner is why i bought a rwd car, plus most people expect a lexus to be driven sensibly lol. drifting past a saxo trying to race u is so satisfying lol. understeer is a constant problem with me, i have had too many closer than close calls with it, especialy when taking fast right hand bends, there just seems to be no easy way of correcting it, just ride it out with the clutch pressed in and letting the revs drop before letting it out and hoping for a bit of rear wheel grip to shake it back. have corrected it once or twice by steering into the slide but that was when i had the luxury of time and space. not a great big wall. has anyone found a way of curing understeer? is it more common with the 4x4 style ride height of the SE rather than the lower sport? opinions please
  15. Well i am getting very jelous of all you guys with the standard fit sat nav, and was wondering what other alternatives i have seeing as my car didnt come with it. will lexus fit me one in? or do i have to go aftermarket? if so what experience have you guys had with other systems. as its a lot of money to sink into something that might be crappy. I am one of those people that get 95% of the way somewhere new then get hopelessly lost at the last min and think that it could save me my relationship with my map reading girlfriend, lol. cheers guys, also if possible could you show pics of aftermarket installs. :winky:
  16. well i had the exhaust fitted on tuesday and have only just got out of my car :winky: lol, i love the sound and the roll on speed from 90 - 130 seems a lot faster (i was on a airfield officer ) , sitting in the waiting room at TDI i was anxious if i had made the right decision, then they started it, i felt that chill thru my spine and knew my money was well spent. the car sounds like it should, and now shames every boy racer it passes with its classy growl and not a hint of "tinny"ness. only problem is now im driving at 40mph in 6th gear to get that sexy growl, lol. oh well. sound on motorway when cruising is almost non exisitant. am so so so so so so so so so so happy. can you tell im happy????? where can i buy the hks panel filter from??? Thank you everyone for guiding me in the right direction
  17. I have tried searching the forum but found nothing that truely answers my questions, here it goes, i am picking up my long awaited HKS Hiper muffler tomorrow morning at 10am yay 2 months of waiting! and i want to know where i can get a decent performance panel filter for under £50, as i cant fit a induction kit at the moment. who are the best makes for them as my internet searches keep coming up a blank and also is it worth it power wise? or are they just more noisy. sorry about the number of questions its just im excited about my exhaust getting fitted, hehe. sorry again.
  18. try adding frequency filters (capacitors) to rears so that they only deal with bass notes, same with fronts for mid only
  19. i hav8 the 8 speaker option on my 200 se, might change the head unit but wanna keep standard speakers, plus i can only account for 6 of the 8 speakers, main things are :- how can i keep all 8 speakers when there are normaly only 4 outputs? Who sells double din to single din adaptor plates??? Any good ideas for a stylish snd simple install? cheers
  20. just have joined gold club, is there a list of companies that will supply exhausts at discount? or do tdi offer it?
  21. well i think afer all those testimonials the HKS super drager will be finding its way onto the back of my car, should be a good month for my new baby, its getting its fresh new tints on the 24th of may, how difficult is the exhaust to fit? do lexus suffer from the never undoing exhaust bolt problems as most euro cars seem to have? or do i ship it off to a company to do? Cant wait, how legal is an exhaust of that size? just because the police realy seem not to like me, being 21 and driving a black lexus obviouly makes me a drug dealer or a pimp according to them, not a project manager as they soon find out to their reddening faces and due apologies
  22. Hi, just took delivery of my IS200 from lexus nottingham 2 weeks ago, was well happy coz they shipped the car to me in kent, its a 2000 W reg with 41000 miles on the clock, i realy wanna get a nice back box for it now, that gurgle it has is so sexy, its what sold me the car and stopped me buying a saab 9-3 aero convertible!!! i have had a v-twin suzuki for ages and have a nice deep race exhaust on it and want the lexus to compete, but not so much as it gives me a headache!! I use the car loads and want to keep it subtle but roar when i floor it again and again!! any suggestions? i have seen only a few people are doing them, has anyone seen the Peco Boxxer range? looks nice but is it any good? the hks stuff looks so good, and the blitz is very nice? any reviews? or problems would be great. thank you The Don
