  1. thanks guys, i never usually park the lexus outside my house because of envious people, this was the 1st time i did it so the vandal must have jumped at the oppotunity, i contacted lexus the price for new drivers side wiper arm is 51 pounds inclusive, i just thank the vandal for not scratching the car that would be very expensive.
  2. hi guys i woke up this morning to find my mk2 gs drivers side windscreen wiper arm had been completly snapped off over night, do you guys know were i can get a replacement arm from? does the ls400 gs mk2 or gs mk1 all have the same type wiper arm? i thank you all in advance for any assitance thanks
  3. it was originally the passaenger side rear 1 making noise, now the rear drivers side one is doing the same noise on and off, do u know anyone who sells used mk2 gs parts at all, im not 100% but i may need a caliper and they are 254+vat each from lexus in london. i noticed another thing i started pumping the brake peddle today after you mentioned the caliper may be sticking and after 5 pumps of the peddle i heard a beep i looked at the dash board and 5 lights cameon hnd brake light, vsc, abs when i put the car in drive they all went off, i pumped peddle again and same thing happened. i cant beleave whats going on all i did was get the pads changed the car was 100% perfect before this happened hi tigerfish i had original lexus pads fitted today and guess wot? the noise has gone and the funny thing is the noise was coming out the passenger rear brake pads but the mechanic changed the drivers side rear pads and told me to take car for a spin and the noise stopped ( very strange). this is the 2nd time ive used fake parts and paid heavy in the end, the 1st time my mk3 tdi cat convertor went and i put in a copy cat from euro car parts and lost 40% power and now these brake pads, it cost me 120 pounds and 3 whole days of running from garage to garage. i appreciate all your help and advise and in future im not going to ever going to make this same mistake again. You could try one of the part finder type sites that have networks of car breakers. I've used http://www.breakerlink.com and http://www.find-a-part.com , Not entirely sure who it was that got me the part in the end but I think it was breakerlink. Had a call back within about 30 minutes. I got all 4 calliper mounts with slide pins (not the callipers themselves) for £70 delivered. Pretty good deal as the slide pins alone would've cost more than that from Lexus. That stopped the clunking at low speeds on lumpy roads and I freed the binding calliper with lithium soap glycol based grease (kept retracting the calliper and then pressing the brake back out until it was moving freely again). You could try that first before shelling out on a calliper. No idea I'm afraid on the whole pedal and warning light thing.
  4. it was originally the passaenger side rear 1 making noise, now the rear drivers side one is doing the same noise on and off, do u know anyone who sells used mk2 gs parts at all, im not 100% but i may need a caliper and they are 254+vat each from lexus in london. i noticed another thing i started pumping the brake peddle today after you mentioned the caliper may be sticking and after 5 pumps of the peddle i heard a beep i looked at the dash board and 5 lights cameon hnd brake light, vsc, abs when i put the car in drive they all went off, i pumped peddle again and same thing happened. i cant beleave whats going on all i did was get the pads changed the car was 100% perfect before this happened
  5. hi tigerfish i went to another 2 garages (total 8 garages) and without looking at the car they all said its because i put cheap brake pads in, lexus garage told me it sounds like the brake pads or it could also be as u said calipers sticking, lexus wanted 65 pounds to look over car but they said 9 times out of 10 its the pads so i bought main dealer rear pads and now i dont know who to have them fitted by in london
  6. HI GUYS i have a very bad problem and dont want to get ripped off anymore, i had brake pads fitted all around and now when i drive i can hear a slight rattling noise coming from the rear passanger side wheel and when i put the car in reverse there is a loud and i mean very loud whining noise similar to if u try and drive your car with the handbrake on, ive had the pads taken out and refitted to no avail, i even had the brake shoes checked out as well as the discs and they are all fine. now im hearing the same noise sometimes from the drivers side rear wheel it is so bad in reverse because everyone stops to look, 1 chap told me its because i fitted cheap quality brake pads that cost 35 pounds all around bought from euro car parts, i really would appreciate your advise guys thanks in advance
  7. i think the best thing to do is go on e bay were u can buy a complete new wood set for your car and there are choices of colour as well.
  8. i forgot to mention that i now always drive in the wet with the car in SNOW mode and have noticed the car handles very well like this, is there any problem i could cause by constantly driving in snow mode? thanks
  9. i nearly wrote of my mk2 gs sport the 1st day i got it, i was goin around a bend and hit the gas and the car fish tailed so badly i had to stop in the middle of the road to get y breath back, its since happened several times and a lexus main dealer told me its a common problem
  10. Will be interesting to see how your setup performs. If possible, can you ask the guy to give you a copy of the ECU's config (.rm8) file once he's finished? I've got the Romano system as well and it would be interesting (for me, at least) to compare the final setup with mine. When testing out the car, do a bit of aggressive driving (in other words, find a dual carriageway and plant your foot) to see if it stays on gas or switches to petrol at high load/rpm. Good price by the way, mine was £1700. 75 litre Stako toroidal tank (60 litre usable) fits in the wheel well, raises the carpet by about a centimetre. I cut the centre hole out of the plastic tray that sits on the spare wheel and it now sits nicely around the tank and the carpet's level again. hi guys i booked my car in for inspection this thursday at which stagei must part with £400 deposit ( they say its standard practise). i made some more enquiries today on the lpg conversion and was told that the valves are going to blow on my car at any stage maybe 15k maybe 40k even with flash lube and i will have to pay to get the top end of my engine rebuilt (is this true). i really want this lpg conversion but now im getting worried (maybe i should buy a cheap diesel runaround for 1700 quid and leave lex for odd days and weekends) i dont want to spend 1720 on lpg and find that after 20-30k i need my engine rebuilt im really confused, i was under the impression that lpg is better for your car and increases the engine life, will the valves really get damaged or have i been misinformed?
  11. Hi i made lots of enquiries today on an lpg conversion and got lots of mixed opinions 1 lpg installer told me dont touch "brc" they are the worst and another installer swore that brc are near enough the best. i spoke to altertech fuel systems who said that the prins system is the best for mk2 gs saying that the system uses kaine injectors which are guaranteed for 180,000 miles. the prices i was quoted were shocking a brc system fitted is £2000+vat and +£40 if wanting flash lube fitted another garage prins system fitted £2200 inc with flashlube. anyway the best offer i got and all the other garages agreed that the offer is a blinding deal and they cannot compete with is a romano lpg conversion fitted within 2-4 days all inclusive of everything along with lpga certificate of conformity, flash lube included, 2 years parts warranty, 1 years labour warranty a free 1000 mile inspection all in for £1720inc or without flashlube £1600 inc, this gentleman has done lex 430s and gs300s and has told me that the injector valves come with 5 year unlimited miles warranty were as prins are limited to 180,000 miles he also said that the valves or injectors on the romano can be used upside down unlike the prins which can only be used upright ( i need to confirm exactly what he meant). anyways ive booked my car in for the lpg conversion using the romano system at £1720 all inc with flash lube. i hope this info was informative, im sure u guys know better than me all im tryin do is share my hours of research with you lot lol. what do u all think about my findings? it will be interesting to know.
  12. hi guys my lex mk2 sport has done 107k miles i checked my fuel consumption twice now and basically for every £5 i get 20 miles around town is that right? do u think i need get my oxygen sensors changed? or should i get an lpg conversion done for £1500? is there and loc member here who lives near london who would be prepared to change my oxygen sensors (if they need changin ) for a fee? thanks guys
  13. as far as i know the difference between the gs 300 mk2 sport and the normal se mk2 se is the sport has lowered suspension. 18" sport alloys. sport front grill. rear spoiler, front bumper lip spoiler, hid lights, and sport steering wheel, sport signature sticker on rear small windows i hope im correct if not 1 of the professionals on this site will correct me.
