  1. lexus or toyota mate and they are not that expensive.........ebay is more expensive.. Thanks Ormi, do you have a web link or do i have to call up somewhere?
  2. Have been looking for ages for a rear passenger light for a 54 plate IS (its the dark satin one) but just cannot find one! have seen a few on ebay but they are very expensive £70+ Does anyone have one for sale or know where i can get one for a decent price?
  3. Nice one Jack...if you have a look through the rest of the catagories (handling, braking, etc) the IS is nearer the top...making it a brilliant all rounder! http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/driver_power_2007/archive/?group=category&cat=ride_quality
  4. Thanks E910 thats very useful...! I've looked at the fuse box loads of times trying to find the dual fuse.
  5. Thinking about painting my brake lights from the standard chrome to maybe that of the front lights (dark browny grey - 2004 IS)or even black....... What you think guys, do you know of any pics anywhere.......?
  6. It would be great if it could be made from bits and pieces. What you think of taking the glass lense from the IS fog light and fitting a reflector cone of the same size with the bulb contained in the middle? Surely theres not that much trickery in its construction, is there?
  7. I've got retrofit 5000k HIDs in my IS. They look really really good and are very bright......however, they do not appear to be the same as those found on brand new lexus's. My neighbours got an rx350 and have noticed that the light coming out of his car is somewhat different - i mean absolutely superb!. Its clear, is evenly distributed across the ground and has distinctively clear cut off lines. A bit of further reading here (http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html) has lead me to conclude its to do with the fact that mine are fitted in standard headlights as apposed to projectors. Ive already seen these threads and none really hit the nail on the head.... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...p;mode=threaded http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...aded&start= Do you reckon its possible to create your own retro fit projectors, anyone know of any or maybe have tried it before? It can be either from a number of random parts or adapted from another car..... Maybe a bit of a blue peter jobby... :) Any thoughts?
  8. Hey VJJ..just got mine working! Both the doors /boot and immoboliser work... turned out to be the transponder type.... As yours too is a 54 2004 model...this is the sequence that i used to get the doors /boot working..Just remember that when in the programming state (step 7 onwards) you can try many keyfob combinations... Hope it works for you too... Remote Programming 1. Close and lock all doors. Unlock and open drivers door. 2. Put key into ignition and remove. Do not turn it on. 3. Using the electric lock switch. Lock and unlock 5 times. (Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock) 4. Close and open drivers door. 5. Using the electric lock switch. Lock and unlock 5 times. (Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock) 6. Put key into ignition. Turn to "ON" , turn off and remove. 7. You will see the door locks cycle by themselves. If the door locks do not cycle (lock and unlock) by themselves then the car isn’t in programming mode and you must start over. 8. On the remote, press and hold the LOCK and the UNLOCK button at the same time for no more than 2 seconds. 9. On the remote, press the LOCK button for no more than 1 second. AT THIS POINT, the locks should cycle by themselves ONE time. This means the procedure was accepted. IF the locks cycle twice it has failed. The most common reason for programming failure is because the car didn’t receive a good signal from the remote. To fix this problem try these tips. 1) Stand outside of the car while you are performing steps 8 and 9. 2) Don’t hold the remote buttons down as long. As long as the car is still in programming mode you can keep trying steps 8 and 9 until you complete the programming. If you wait too long and the car exits the programming mode then you must start over. After you get the remote to program then continue on with step 10. 10. Close and open door to end programming procedure.
  9. That looks really kool, I want one! Im looking on ebay but cant find any....can you point me towards any? Also, do you know if the wiring is difficult to connect up?
  10. Finally got the camera working after many many many attempts.....woohooo It now works when the reverse gear is selected.... Does anyone know how to get it so that you can also hit a button (Nav button for 1 sec on Kenwood 8220bt) and it will show the rear view image? I understand that it only gets the power when the reverse lights come on, but what wire can i connect so that i can have both, ie, when the reverse gear is selected and also when i press the button on my headunit? Am i write in thinking just connect a acc wire to the wire coming from the Kenwood?
