  1. The link below should give you all the info (prices and model #) http://www.lexus-parts.com./partlist.asp?S...D=49&ModelID=61 If the link doesn't work then heres the info: Available Parts: Online Price 88880-50010 - Filter Cabin (requires 2) $44.23 The filter should be located behind or below the glovebox, I'm not sure. I need to change mine this week. I doubt the filters have been changed on my 90 LS400 since the day it was bought so I'm looking forward to the clean air. You can probably only get the filter through a Lexus dealership (?) and they should be able to tell you where and how to install it if they're cool like my dealership. I'd think that changing these filters is a definite must and is probably overlooked by a lot of people.
  2. LOL smaller cup would be the easiest thing. I've learned to drive with cups between my legs. You think about it... the cup holder needs to be within hands reach. Your only choices would be to get/make a hanging cup holder to hang off the door, modify the existing cup holder, or make a makeshift cup holder out of the center console which would mean that you would either not have a console cover or it would have to be open while you drink. BTW you can remove the cupholder by removing screws out fo the center console and carefully prying up the inside of the console to pop it out. It took two lexus techs to take out the console lol! Apparently they don't do it all the time!
  3. I've had similar brake problems on my 90 130mi ls400. I had the brakes resurfaced and what not at lexus and it still kinda shudders i dont know why. Best thing to do is to keep the brake fluid level. The LS is a heavy car so there is a lot of pressure on those front discs. That sucks that aftermarket prouducts don't help As far as "downshifting" goes I dunno...I wouldn't necessarily reccomend it. I'm not a pro mechanic or anything but my experience with cars tells me that the tranny isn't made for slowing the car down; I'd think that using the tranny or the footbrake would put premature wear on parts - meaning you'd have to replace a tranny rather than brake pads. Question for drbob: What does this mean? The asbestos thing... "nd have replaced countless rotors (discs) but only in the last four years which corresponds to hardened pad material as asbestos removed"
  4. Hey my neighbor had the same problem and Lexus diagnosed it. Unfortunately I forgot what the problem was exactly - I believe it was an electrical problem and not a physical tranny prob. That's all I remember for the momment. If youre still interested in knowing what it was exactly let me know and I'll ask him. He did get it diagnosed and fixed through lexus though.
