  1. It is an OEM bumper with a TRD style lip attached on it and finished to look like one part and not two! Thank you for the quick reply, do you know where I could get hold of one from? The whole kit preferably! Also, can I ask how it has been made to look like a single part? Bonded or something?
  2. Hello, I have been trying to decide on a body kit for my IS200. I don't want anything outragous or silly, I would like a subtle and classy look. I have been interested in the 'Legana' style bumper/bodykit that can be bought on TypeRkits for around £600 all in (including foglights for the front bumper). I have also noticed what is claimed to be the 'TRD' bodykit for the IS200, which consists of basically extentions to the front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper, seems a little expensive for the actual change. I found a picture not long ago of an IS200 with an amazing front bumper, it looks like a splitter, but it is the exact look I am after for my IS. I found it again today and noticed it is from this website: Google Image Who's car is this? What is the bumper called and is it a part of a bodykit? Do you have any more pictures of it? :) Thank you!
  3. I have checked today and I have a '13903' unit! So I should be fine? (also: BUMP!!)
  4. Hello, as with everyone else on this forum, my IS200's CD changer/player has ***** itself. I have had it out and the black 'U' shaped clips have snapped and are just in a bad way haha. I have been considering a number of different things: double-din, single-din fold out or just a standard headunit/face-off. All of them have their pros and cons and I think they are obvious but a big issue for me is the re-sell value of my Lex. (E.g. I don't want a full-blown sound system with wires all over the place and new 6x9's and 4 subs in the boot etc.) I went into an in-car-audio shop and had a discussion with the guy there, he was very helpful and was explaining the bypass of the built in amp behind the glove box in the IS200 SE. He was also telling me about the issues with the IS200 standard 6x9 speakers on the rearshelf and because the amp would have to be bypassed he would only be able to power the main part of the stock 6x9 which could impair quality of the sound in the car and if I have my music on too loud then I could end up blowing my headunit. Bit of a nightmare. Basically, I am sick to DEATH of the radio, I can't stand adverts and I would like to be able to listen to my own music. I have been set on CD players to be honest, just nice, easy and convenient. I worked out that for a cheap-ish headunit, fitted and a fascia adapter and everything else I am looking around £200. Which to me is a little steep. I do have an iPod and I have never really looked into using it with my IS200 (because I didn't even know you could do it) a friend of mine mentioned an iPod kit for my car like a retro fit, and I am SURE it is kam05 that has one of these badboys installed, a GROM iPod retro-fit kit. GROM iPod kit The glory of this kit is that I keep all my IS200 sound system stock and when I come to sell the car I can include the iPod kit with it. As I said, I have an IS200 SE on a 51 plate, it is a top-loading CD player unit and the problem I have is that the clips inside the CD changer are bo**ocksed!! Will I have any problems in fitting this kit? And a better question! Where do I even plug this thing in? :)
  5. Hi everyone, I am looking for some red brake caliper paint, I am wondering what is the best stuff to go for? I noticed the people who have done it on here also stick the Lexus emblem/logo on them too, that is what I would like to do. I also noticed that the paint that is used is almost like an enamel paint, like very shiny and it looks very professional! What paint did you use?! :)
  6. Hello everyone, I thought I would update everyone on the situation. As I have said, the third party that crashed into me wanted to pay for the damage with cash to avoid going through insurance as he could lose his no claims. I didn't have an issue with this as I would expect the same chance/opportunity if I crashed into someone. As Kam said 10 years or 1 year, Lexus are the way to go for a car repair. I came to think that on the Thursday my car was 100% genuine Lexus, then on Friday someone crashes into me and my car may have to be repaired not using the genuine parts. I went to a Lexus bodyshop in the Manchester area and they quoted me £2370.40p. That included a new door, majority of the rear quarter panel and my wheel gyro/balancing re-assed because my wheel was hit. All parts obviously sprayed and fitted by Lexus professionals. I phoned the guy that hit me and I think he nearly fell over, like I said in my original post, he offered me around £400 to repair it, I tried to tell him it will be in the £1000s but to him I would of been happy with some cowboy filling my beloved Lex with filler!!!! I have gone with Lexus Accident Assist (as recommended by some people in this thread) and I am getting a courtesy/hire car on Monday and they are taking my car to be repaired. They told me because it is not yet 10 years old my car is still classed as prestige and they will most likely give me another Lexus. I am glad everything was sorted properly and I think I will get the best possible outcome from the whole thing. I am eager to see what car they have in store for me! IS220 or IS250?
  7. lol I'm guessing sarcasm? just incase though, the housing is black not the lens :P
  8. Hello, was just having a scan for some black headlights/angel eyes and I came accross an american eBay listing: Black Angel Eyes They are listed as IS300 and it's american, so I am presuming LHD fixings. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Can they be modified to fit? I know an auto-electrician so a slight re-wire shouldnt be much of a problem. There are a few others from different sellers too: Black JDM Style headlights Black Angel Eyes EDIT: RHD Altezza headlights: Altezza headlights
  9. Try some steel/wire wool, thats what I use, but I have the chrome exhaust trim, I don't know if thats what you have?
  10. I notified the police this afternoon and I have a log number. I really do hope it's a simple fix! Wow, thank you for pointing that out. I did get VERY trigger happy, I got a lot of photos, the ones I put up are the best and most relevent I thought. Thank you! This does reassure me to be honest! IS250 for a week would be fantastic, I couldn't bare a Ford KA! Also, big thank you to everyone for replying, I can assure you my mind is at rest now, I will be contacting the insurance company first thing tomorrow morning and I will let you all know what is said. I will be taking my car to Lexus themselves, I want the piece of mind that my car is in the best hands.
  11. Hello! I am looking for advice on a crash I was involved with today. I just drove into a big retail/shopping park in my area to go for some dinner with some friends. I went round a small roundabout and headed towards a car space nearer to the shops as it was raining. The car park is made up of sideroads with lots of car spaces. It's a big car park, if anyone is familar with the Manchester area it is the Manchester Fort retail park. I was driving down one of these sideroads, there was no other cars on the road, the whole car park was quiet compared to what it is usually. I was driving past one of the junctions that join the sideroad and a Focus came very close to the passenger door, my friend in the passenger seat shouted as he thought we were about to be hit, then crunch. He hit my back wheel arch and some of the rear passenger door. I got out and he apologized immediatley. We sorted insurance details out and he accepted full responsibility and fault. I took pictures the moment I got out of the car, I took his numberplate and took his name and contact number, and made sure the number worked. Unfortunatley there were no witnesses other than the drivers wife and my two friends. I made sure one of my friends stayed with him while we moved our cars out of the road as we were beginning to obstruct traffic to get in and out of that section of the car park. He didn't really know what to do, he said it was his first accident and wanted to know how much it cost, I told him it will be left to his insurance company. He phoned me 10 mins after he left offering money instead of going through the insurance company; but please read on, as this is my problem. He hit the rear passenger door slightly, my wheel arch took the majority and I have got paint from his car on my wheel. To me, it looks like the whole rear panel will need to be replaced, it's a massive panel, the sill, rear quarter around the petrol cap, the pillar above to doors, you know which panel I mean. The car drives fine, I was expecting him to have knocked my balancing but no, it is fine. I know you will not be able to answer this question until I post pictures but I fear they will right the car off because of the amount of money it will cost to buy the panel, paint and fit it and possibly a new rear door. My car is a 51 plate with 103,000 miles. I have insured it for over £3000. Has anyone ever been hit in the rear quarter and what was the outcome? The damage is only minimal and maybe I am over-reacting. I don't know how IS200s are put together but if I look at it the whole rear quarter panel it will need to be replaced, because I don't think it can be bumped out because it's quite mangled. I 'need' to go through insurance, I NEED a courtesy car because I need to drive for my job. Will my car be a right off?? PICTURES!: His car MY LEX! :(
  12. Thanks very much mate, really appreciate it! I think the first picture is what I want to go for.. need to get hold of some big red TRD/Brembo caliper covers now!!! :) NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER AND SIGN OUT OF EBAY!!!!!!! do not buy caliper covers they look really nasty!!!!! paint your calipers and get some caliper decals to stick on your nicely painted calipers. that will look 100% better than the covers. you can get all sorts, lexus, trd, brembo etc. Wow haha! I thought painting my calipers would look nasty? That picture you linked does look very nice though I must admit. I didn't want to look over the top like you see on some corsas with painted drum brakes haha. I found these: TRD Covers (the seller told me he would give me the rear covers too, for £50 delivered, the rears are smaller obviously) I thought the attention to detail (ie. the hose) was quite good? Being honest I am only using my imagination when I think about the look of them on my car, I'd love to have big brakes. Both sets of wheels I wanted photoshopped have nice caliper clearance so I thought it was the way to go? I have never seen these covers in person though so I was just going off his feedback and toying with the idea of them on my car, do they really look THAT bad?? :)
  13. Thanks very much mate, really appreciate it! I think the first picture is what I want to go for.. need to get hold of some big red TRD/Brembo caliper covers now!!! :)
  14. Hello, yesterday I was driving down the road and on the other side was another IS200. It had the CCFL Halo/sidelights installed but his foglights were also on and they were as bright as HIDs, they looked like the 6000k HIDs I have in my car, but in his fog lights? Basically, whats the score on HID fog lights?! Legal? Do they even exist? haha
