  1. Jim, you have one fitted now so give us your verdict mate
  2. How do you know 10 litres is enough? I cant believe so many people are trying to get this guy to spend money on a repair that may not be needed for the sake of another trip to the petrol pump. Why I know??? 30 yrs driving various cars covering 60k miles every year, 28yrs as a toyota technician, 10 yrs as a Lexus Technician, Owned 3 Lexus Fixed and road tested 100's of Lexus, Forgot how many cars on road test I have had to put 5litres of fuel in when I have seen the light on. Untold amount of breakdowns when run out of fuel at roadside, I could go on and on. Sorry Tigerfish, I am not after a argument but I was just replying to your post that seemed a bit forceful
  3. and if I remember right it is not float related but a thermister inside the tank unit that alters its resistance when it is cooled by the fuel
  4. but the light comes on with about 1/8th of a tank showing so that means nothing... All I can say is that I can drive about 50 miles from when the light comes on, the needle goes waaay past empty (im talking about another 1/10th) and if I put £30 it will take it to a 1/3rd If in the same scenario you are only getting the fuel light to go off on the "cusp" then there is something wrong with the sender/guage.... You are confusing me mate. The OP wanted to know why his lite was still on after putting in 30 quids worth of gas. I am purely demonstrating (through the maths) that if he was literally on fumes, £30 may not be enough to "definitely" put the light out. So fill up and see if the light goes off, before spending a pot load of money on a problem that may not be there. 10th's, 8th's, qtrs, thirds of a tank make no difference, the physics of fuel fitting in the volume of the tank at a given cost per unit do make a difference. If the OP was running on fumes 10 litres of fuel would be enough to extinguish his low level light, it might come on again with in 5 miles or so but defo would not need anywhere near £30, and thats without doing the maths.
  5. Seen on ebay for any 300 owners, I have one on my Sportscross and the do work very well. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280669462239#ht_500wt_1156
  6. both door mirrors are auto dimming just like the interior mirror, the 200 glass will fit but not have the auto dim function
  7. Ormi, on the 300 pushing the TRC button only turns off the TRC. The VSC is still active and no way can you turn it off, I have tried to get the back out with TRC off but all that happens is the VSC light in the dash flashes and bleeps at the same time, reducing power until the VSC has sorted it out.
  8. Hello mate. I have a totally unmarked un-spoilered Plat Ice bootlid, it has no badges or fogs, just the naked bootlid, very very nice condition. PM me if interested phil

  10. You say you topped up the bottle, just a thought, you are removing the metal radiator cap and refilling it through there, or are you only topping up plastic tank???
  11. Hi folks, has anyone noticed in this freezing weather how cold your nice shiny metal gear knob is?? mine was like holding a bl@@dy lump of ice, haha
  12. added, Also increase the idle fuel cut off to a broader rpm range, this gives greater engine braking(greater pumping forces) which helps on deceleration, keeping you off the brakes haha , i does work

  16. What a shame, as generally there are so many unused connectors tapped up, but the one you NEED is never there, any more replies greatly recieved True, but to be honest, its not hard to fit and wire the electrics up. I did it with very little experience and only took a couple of hours to do whole interior swap! Give us a shout if you have problems. :) James Thanks James, just sent you a PM
  17. What a shame, as generally there are so many unused connectors tapped up, but the one you NEED is never there, any more replies greatly recieved
  18. Hi mine does it as well when cold, I dont worry anymore
  19. Hi guys, can anyone confirm if there are any connectors fitted to the original car loom on s spec for me to fit a leather interior to mine, I have followed this link http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...rt=#entry589972 but I find it hard to think toyota did not fit a standard loom to all models ((why do the switches work when plugged in)) then tapeing up unused connectors as used many times before, maybe the whole carpet might have to be removed for futher checks. Please help as I would rather plug and play than carry out a re-wire this includes new wires from heated seat switches, Thanks guys, Phil
  20. No I already checked the dust guard it's solid no problems there. I have now taken the car back and the garage are very appologetic and are looking at it for me as we speak and for free with a loan car can't complain so long as nothing else is damaged. Fingers crossed I'll let you guys know what it was when I have my car back. I really don't think it's the discs or the pads they are solid and the pads don't seem to slip at all and they look well seated and greased in all the right places. We shall see..... Thanks for your replies though guys Your welcome g80, please let us know what the fault was though, always interested on the outcome of these fault, as a lot of people post quwstions and never come back with end result.
  21. It does it even when I'm not breaking, but Inwill defo be taking it back to the garage tonight or tmrw mornin depending on what time they close. What I ment was that if it was the pads rattling it would not happen when you are braking, also the pads should not rattle anyway if they are correctly fitted and all the bits put back on. It is NOT loose pads in carrier/yoke if it is, they have fitted wrong pads, IT is something not correctly installed by mechanic at garage.
  22. Check for loose wheel nuts on n/s or poss loose claliper mounting bolts, drive very slowly back to garage and no high speed corners, BE CAREFUL something is not right, please keep us informed of outcome, Phil
  23. Hi Phil< details just follow this link, http://www.japcarclub.com/ it tells you more, reply back if needed any more info, Phil
