  1. To rehash a really old thread but someone linked it on another site. These codes & ratios are only relevant to the IS200 & even then they're still incorrect. My RS200 has axle code A01B which is a 4:100 LSD according to Microcat. Best to email someone working at a Toyota dealer (like myself or Nick) with your frame & model number to confirm the ratio. B still denotes LSD. Altezza's came with option of 4.100 & 4.300 in the SXE10/GXE10 & 3.272 in JCE10 IS had 3.585, 3.909 & 4.100
  2. I think strut braces are a worthy mod whether your car is standard or lowered. Just look at Corolla GT's they came from factory with a strut brace right from the original AE82 through to the AE111. I've got HKS Kansai front & rear in mine, wouldn't be without them.
  3. Is the arm bent or just the bushes that need replacing? Bushes available on eBay http://www.ebay.co.u...663120222189620 Otherwise they only come as a complete arm from the dealer 48670-53010 which will be expensive no doubt as they're @ £220 over here
  4. Front ball joints are very common but I don't think Lexus like to admit to any common faults. They want to get you in their workshop & take your money rather than helping you diagnose the problem & take your money elsewhere. Makes good business sense but not much help your average enthusiast. As you can see from the link I posted there's less than 1mm of play aloud in them. Pretty hard to detect on the car. I know when we did mine it wasn't until you got them off the car you could tell they were knackered.     What model Kumho are you looking at? They make some crap & some ok tyres. You'd be better off with Hankook S1 or V12 EVO if you want good Korean tyres. I had Ecsta 712 on my car when I got it & I can honestly say they're absolute crap. Have Goodyear F1 Asymmetric now.
  12. Seems mods didn't like my last post, oh well . If you ever need any questions answered I pop in from time to time. I've had my RS200-Z 6MT for 3 years now. Great car, enjoy yours. *EDIT* I've also just started working at a Toyota & Lexus dealership so can help out with a lot of JDM parts.
  13. Yes well worth the money. Can get away with just a rear if you're on a budget. I'm running a Cusco rear in mine (16mm / 125% stiffer). IS rear is supposedly 13mm so you'd need the TRD bushes. I'm guessing the Altezza front is stiffer than IS to so in that case you might want to do a pair. Although if you went for the TRD yellow (99% stiffer) it should be an alright match.   14. Have you replaced any parts yet? Lower ball joints are very common to go & make the noise you described. Very hard to diagnose if you don't know what you're looking for. They're only allowed less than 1mm of play. Swaybar drop links would be the next thing I'd look at then lower rear hub bushes
  15. If you're looking for more grip just get the best 215/45 tyres within your budget. A few that spring to mind are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, Pirelli P Zero, Michelin Pilot Super Sport, Toyo Proxes T1-Sport etc etc
  16. Thanks for that, I'm actually starting at Manukau Toyota next month. Been with Ford/Mazda for 6 years so time for a change & some cheap parts for the Altezza At last count there was well over 10K Altezza's on the roads over here (half of them probably in AK alone)
  17. Time for my annual service, thinking about going to the Altezza Club track day in September so I thought I'd try some 0w40 with the Cusco filter I won. Should help keep the pressure up at high rpm compared to 5w30. Has stopped the tappet noise on start up if nothing else. So after reading Bob is the oil guy it would seem 0w30 is the perfect oil but unfortunalty Castrol NZ don't bring it in. Had my car in at Wakefield Panel last month to have the dent removed from my bonnet. They also resprayed the front cover & lip as it had quite a few scratches. Pretty happy with the end result. Also put some new treads on the front a month or so back.
  18. Those RX8 rims aren't bad at all. Not a fan of yellow calipers unless you have carbon ceramic brakes. Painting the calipers any colour other than black is a waste of time IMO. They get covered in brake dust & road grime in no time & end up looking cheap
  19. You'd be looking at around £150 per shock for something decent like Koni so you're only £50 off the BCs. There are cheaper ones on the market but they're only going to be as good as standard OE. You'd be better off getting a stiffer rear sway bar if you don't intend to invest in some decent shocks . I got my Cusco rear sway bar for NZ$300 which at the current exchange rate is about £150. Have you done front & rear strut braces? They're cheap & work well to firm things up in the corners.

  24. Get an aftermarket trans cooler, hook it up in series to the factory cooler. A DIY job that should cost less than £70 for parts.
