  1. Hi All Cheer for all the advise it seem I must have been unlucky as to why that oil guard call it what you will, had snapped straight across. Rivets where fine and intact and no debris was found, I probably had been driving with the part like this since I brought the car who knows!! I have posted some pictures of the part they took out of my Lexus with hind sight if they did nothing at all it would have been fine too as nothing really was effecting it. something to be aware of I suppose if you have a RX450, it may have been a one off, my car is about 6years old and done 110k maybe wear and tear?? Thanks to Lexus Coventry for fixing it and giving me a new Lexus to use for a week as they needed to import the part from Belgium.
  2. from what he say in the video he should have 3 rivets to fix the plate to the rocker cover of which 2 rivets have failed or have broken some how and could be anywhere inside the engine or fallen into the sump oil. They are going to open it up this Wednesday as they have to order the part from Belgium and will not arrive till tomorrow.
  3. Hi I brought the car from a car dealer in southport I think lexus bristrol must have sold to dealer to sell it was about NOV about 6month ago
  4. Hi All I brought a 450H 2011 premier which had done 100k and I had just taken into Lexus Coventry for routine service, it had a full service history from lexus Bristol so was a good bet nothing bad would go wrong. So I get a call from service department that I had a problem with my rocker cover as a couple of rivet have come away inside where the pour the engine in from. so it was not safe to turn the engine on, until they investigate where the rivets have gone. This will cost me about 950 pounds to put right which isn't cheap and not happy. I have post the URL to show you what I mean any of you may want to check your own RX450h too to see if its a part malfunction or just my bad luck. https://video.citnow.com/vp7sVTJrfw3
  5. sorry mate I hadn't log in for a while but yes that lady in lativa on ebay is OK and good for 60 quid I ended up having to both side but I did also get a biy more discount too so worth haggling too.
  6. on the SE-L 2010 model I have I managed to tease the mirror out as advised by steve too thank for that, I had found that its the glass mirror at fault not the wiring loom as I switched the glass mirrors around and the faulty glass mirror didn't heat up at the passenger door either and the passenger door worked fine on the driver side door. so it look like im after a driver side glass with heated and dimming function cost too much at lexus, any cheaper place I can try?? I looked at Latvia on ebay who had been selling they for about 60 quid not sure if I should go for that either.
  7. ok cheers for your input I will see if I can get somebody to look at that if I can as I'm not sure how to do it
  8. Hi yes the passenger mirror heats up ok once I have the rear screen defogger on
  9. Hi All I have just brought a 2010 450h Premier which is a high mileage granted but as a typical bloke loves gadgets. I have noticed that my driver side door mirror doesn't heat up everything else works on it like adjusting the mirror is there anything else I can check?? a new mirror is about 300quid!! I'm assuming its not I common issue as I thought electric's on these are bulletproof.
  10. Hello fellow lexus owners i have just purchased a RX350 SE-L only a shade over 3 years old but it had now done 100K and is due for a service all previous services were at bradford lexus. I went to lexus birmingham who quoted me something like 500 quid plus a 10% discount since it older then 3 years now which i thought was excessive as they don't need to replace any spark plug or do anything with the timing belt. The break down for just the oil was over 100 quid, Phew!!! I couldn't find any local independent Lexus garages does anyone know any good one in birmingham??? cheers in advance!!! P.s. I only travel 12 miles a day to work and back and im getting about 20 miles to a gallon is this about right??
