  1. I've heard rumours the government is going make these detectors illegal again using a new law, has anyone else heard this
  2. I have seen a product called A Glaze and was wondering if anyone has used it and knows if it is any good - A Glaze Does it do what it says or is it all marketing bull, I hate polishing :yack: so a sealant system like this would seem ideal - if it works B)
  3. Maybe those people need to buy an IS200, once the seats in its near impossible to get it back out, it ain't going nowhere, its a pain. I also have one of those base units that fit in stay in position, which you then clip the child seat into. Nice and easy, only problem is that the scooped rear seats make the angle far to great and the babies head flops right forward in a rear facing seat. Guess I'm gonna have to get a Volvo or mondeo
  4. How do you then release the belt from the child seat, it wont retract because of the lock and so in my case I can't get the seat out without a lot of twisting (The child seat, not me )
  5. :) Thats what i am wondering, any recommendations
  6. My point is that i would still have to fix it in, the same position as i am in at the moment with mine that isn't broken, it has just come away from the leather in one area.
  7. Surely I'm not the only one to have this happen Maybe someone can recomend a good glue to fix the leather back to the cover :)
  8. Don't understand how that would help
  9. The Joke about Uncle marvo the master of repartee, conversation and backchat.....its toooooo loonnnnggggg to type out :mat: but its brill
  10. Hi all, On myIS200 the leather is coming away from the airbag cover in the side of the passenger seat. Not under warranty as car is 5 years old nearly, and am wondering what the best way to fix it is. It looks like it is just glued in place but I am unsure about how to do this as i have used superglue on leather before and it is not a good mix :yack: Can Anyone help Thanks :)
  11. What about the vvti, could that adjust the valves enough to reduce compression ?
  12. I was about to get out of mine and use the wifes car so I can see why. Like you say, there must be a valve of somekind, don't see how else it can happen.
  13. The battery was fine and it was definately engaging the flywheel cos the car moved when i tried it in gear to check this, Lexicon - you seem to be the only one who has experienced this, where did you read about the cylinder clear out theory?
  14. I can't remember if I had just moved it or not, i do remember it was a very cold night though. The engine span as though no compression, how does the coldstart thingy work?
  15. The othe day I tried starting my IS200 and the engine spun around just like there was no compression or the starter motor had not enganged. To test this I put it in gear and turned the key and the car moved so the starter motor was engaging. It did this for several tries and then eventually it turned over properly, as in whir whir whir, it was doing weeeeeeeeee, (hope you get what I mean) and fired up. I have had the car over 4 years and this is the first and only time it had done this, Anyone got an ideas what may have happened
  16. I asked my dealer to adjusty mine on a 99 IS200 and he said it couldn't be adjusted
  17. Bluewater has its own police station and cells. 5 - 10 yrs back Dartford used to have a big boyracer problem on the one way system thats why the police are so touchy about it. Also be aware that all cars going into Bluewater have their registartions taken by digital cameras and stored on a database which is automatically searched for cars marked as wanted and the police are notified. I know this because a mate of mine was a site maintenance forman there for several years. There are security camaras everywhere so don't do nothing stupid. I may come down for a while as I live nearby, Is the missis allowed cos she loves the Lexus too.
  18. Use of a mobile phone while driving a car will be illegal. The legislation says the mobile phone has to be in a permanent hands free holster with a separate speaker and microphone. What about Bluetooth then phone in locked glove box, bluetooth headset on with voice activation - still illegal cos the phone is not in a permanent holster. It is much safer as there are no buttons to touch as there would be on a handsfree kit as legislated Anyone know if the Bluetooth thing will be corrected or is this just gonna be another one of those good old english law ***** ups :duh:
  19. I had my receiver changed under warranty, shouldn't happen though should it, why they dodgy, can't be much to go wrong, is it where they are fixed?
  20. Sometimes the rubber gets sticky and stops it opening, just spray a clear tyre shine stuff on it to keep it from sticking. Halfords do it.
  21. I've been using the freebie version of Zone alarm on Xp for several months now on broadband and it is good. The blaster virus never got me, nor has any other form of attack other than the standard Email virus's which get picked up by McAfee virus scanner.
  22. I had a look at mine as well and nothing marked up that I can see, 55AH has it for the moment, Not worried about cold crank Thanks B)
  23. I was after the Amp hour rating, I thought it was a 12V system?
