  1. I have read quite a few threads regarding front arm rests. I would realy like to get one ( Oakham trim). The IS 300 has an arm rest as standard and i am wondering if anybody has bought an armrest from their local Lexus dealer and fitted it on an IS. If so, for what cost? Thanks
  2. I am thinking of replacing the rear light clusters with the 'smoked chrome' clusters which are standard on newer models. Does anybody know the part number and cost . Thanks in advance
  3. Thanks to Colin for posting photo's. Wheels work out at £705.00 (set of 4) including VAT and 10% Gold Discount - Lexus Bristol Tyres - 225/40/18 Dunlop Sport 9000, valves, balancing, all wheel alignment and a new set of locking wheel nuts £450.00 - Protyre of Bristol. All in cost £1155.00 I am now aiming to sell my 17'' with gold centre caps for about £300.00 ish.
  4. I have taken some photos, in between the showers. I think they are are great, they look quite aggressive but not 'in your face'. I am not sure how to post images on the site, but if someone could give me their email address, at least i could send them as an attachment and they could be posted that way. I have not seen another IS with these wheels, at least not in the Bristol area. I really would like to get some photos up, as i am going to sell my blue sports grill, which has a very nice stainless steel mesh insert. This mesh is high grade stainless and not your chicken mesh quality, i also have the original black resin coated mesh, should any body want it.
  5. Thanks for the comments - my ignorance completely. The 18'' Grand Prix wheels are 7.5 wide, i measured across the width of the wheel with a tape, hence the 8.5. Anyway they are now fitted with 225/40/18 Dunlop Sport 9000 and i am very pleased with them. I will shortly post my 17'' 5 spoke wheels (4No) with Dunlop Sport 9000 tyres with lots of tread, alongside Gold centre caps (from Midas) and four silver / chrome standard centre caps on the Buy and Sell section.
  6. Just picked a set of 4 Grand Prix 9 spoke alloys from Lexus Bristol and made a nice saving with the Gold 10% discount. The wheel is shown on page 5 of the Lexus accessory catalogue. My query is as follows - The wheel is 18'' x 8.5'' (the box had 7.5'' on the packaging), what size tyre do i require, is it 225 / 40 / 18 ? Will i require an arch liner to avoid rubbing, as the spares desk did not know. I have an IS 200 Sport, which has been further lowered using Lexus sports springs. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  7. I don't ive ever had one. member number 0403
  8. Thanks for the info regarding speedo and odometer readings. Does any know or has anybody ever measured the overall diameter of an 18" rim with a 40mm tyre. The reason i ask is that i measured my standard 17" rim with a 45mm tyre and the overall diameter is just under 600mm. As i am trying to fill the arches i assume that an 18" rim and 40mm tyre would have a larger overall diameter, but by how much?
  9. Many thanks for the info - i will go for the 225/40 ZR 18 tyre size. Besty - Lexus lowering kit factory part number - PZ439-C1721-00. Supplied and fitted by Lexus technicians at a cost of £360.00 including Gold Discount. Apparantly, they are re-badges Eibach springs? Anyway, this might be the expensive way of doing it, as i would'nt have a clue myself. Also peace of mind that a Lexus technician has fitted them. I have noticed a real difference, the ride is a lot firmer but you notice every small pot-hole, the cornering has vastly improved. Also, the front has settled and dropped by just over 20mm and the rear by at least 15mm. Does anyone know why an Arch Liner is required to the front L.H ?
  10. I am thinking of buying a set of the 18" Lexus styling wheels and new tyres. I have an IS Sport (lowered by 15mm) i also have the Lexus lowered springs fitted - another 15mm. I would like to 'fill' the arches and i wonder what the best tyre size would be? Could i maintain the 45 or could i go up a size or two? I will also need an arch liner for the drivers side fron t wheel, but why just the drivers side? Any advice would be appreciated.
  11. Try Protyre, they charge £11.00 a corner and all four wheels take about an hour. www.protyre.co.uk, only problem is that their outlets are in the south.
  12. Wellcome to the Voz, nice to see someone else from the Bristol area. Are you thinking of any mods yet?
  13. I am a recent member and have been viewing the site with interest. Took delivery of an IS 200Sport in April and i am very pleased with it. I am interested in a replacement exhaust - Hiper Muffler, especially after reading all the threads, it seems the best option, as i don't want anything to loud and i would prefer a little improvement in HP. Could anybody recommend a suplier / fitter in the Bristol area. Also, i am a complete novice to any form of modifications, i would prefer some advice regarding - Do i have to inform my insurance co. of this modification Are there any implications to warranties Are there any specific regulations of any type, e.g. noise, co2. Thanks
